Do the seat collect water?
No, keep it cleaned and sealed and it will last a long time. I have had mine for three years and it’s holding up very well.
Won't it void the Honda limited warranty perchance?
I do not know, it did not on my bike 🤷♂️
Could you please kindly post the torque values for all nuts and bolts you've used with the setup?
They would be with the instructions that come with the unit which will be the same as OEM torque values.
@cbr6864 do you mean he should shift his weight rearward and then to give a bit more gas to get the front tire on top of the sand?
Yes I should shift back and not let off the gas’s to keep the front tire float on top. This caught me off guard!
Bummer. Do you still have protection for the rest of the trip or once the air bag goes off, it's done deal?
It has two canisters in the jacket so you get two crashes before you have to change them out and you can change them out in the field, so no worries about that totally reusable
Have you had the opportunity to wear the air bag shirt in hot weather yet? If so how was it? I am seriously considering one. Also by coincidence I have a '21 CRF300L Rally and a 2018 ATAS DCT. Though I planning on selling the ATAS. It's a great bike, but too tall and heavy for my tastes and skill level. Even at 6' and strong I never feel totally comfortable on it. I have dropped it more than once just coming to a stop on uneven ground. Having said that I am relative newb.
I have worn it in the high 90s, as anything as long as you’re moving it is very comfortable.
Are you better in the arm?
Yes, thanks for asking
I am 61 years old was wearing a fox armour and come off after getting X-rays in hospital I only had badly bruised ribs, brought this Alpinestars tech-air 7x it’s not cheap but worth it at my age the way I see it is if i miss 2 weeks of work due to broken ribs I will lose more in income.
Yes, for the aging adventurers this is a great protection option and it will help you stay safe and healthy.
You sound like james Cameron
Hi Tony, did you ever locate to correct size bearings & seal for the rear hub?
No, I haven’t even started looking for him. There’s a bearing place near me. I might just bring the old bearing for the number and see if they have something for it.
Nice bike trip!
Thanks, today was awesome
Safe ride Tony. Kenny and I just did but now it’s hotter than before. You will enjoy the Rockies
Thank you
I run the d sports on my KTM , they are awesome, I dont have a bunch of extra weight on the back of my bike thought.
Good value tire for sure. I’m trying the Tusk Talon hybrid next.
Which trail was this mostly? Did they change up North or South loop?
These are the ATV and UTV roads. They are cutting more trails for the ridge trail but the north and south loop remain as is…for now. Wiled cat and North Pole are as is for now too.
🎉❤1
great job on the hill at 27:00 , that's tricky even on a 2 stroke.
Thank you
Try riding one gear up, it will make you ride faster and way smoother, yes it will require more clutch work.
I ride in 2nd and 3rd gear as my rear sprocket is a 48T. Next time I will try riding a gear up. Thank you
Haha
Likely get bounced for copyright. Looks like fun though.
Not yet 😀
What is your height and is this the high or low Corbin?
I’m 6-1 and this is not the low seat. It is definitely taller than the stock seat. But it is very comfortable. I use the Honda low seat for off road.
@@IronButterflyAT I’ve heard it’s 3/4” higher, sounds like you feel it’s more like 2 “s?
Never measured it but it feels wider and taller then the stock or the lowest witch is lower then the stock low setting.
I use same fastway pegs on my adv, love them
would a shuttle valve works with this with anothe brake line and cylinder without modifying the rear brake master cylinder
Yes I made one for my Africa Twin, just put it inline to the line coming from the the rear master cylinder.
@@IronButterflyAT nice, i just want a reference for my project bike. do you have video of it by any chance ?
czcams.com/users/shortsmV-0oT2_2RM?si=-8K0FaJGVEpOjyn5
I ended up using the master cylinder from my AT as I was not using it anymore but a shuttle valve should work too.

Your video would be better without the tv running…
But I appreciate that you are giving the real customer perspective!
@shawnperry5991 thanks
Looks fun bro.
This was one of the best BDR dual sport ride I have done.
Hi Tony, did you changed only rear spring or front also ? I'm wondering if rear only installed, then front should be leaning forward? and also as this is quite old video, how did you find your suspension at the end ?
I did the front too to eliminate the front end dive on breaking, makes a big difference.
@@IronButterflyAT thanks for reply! Are you still with hyperpro springs? If yes, what's your long term opinion?
Yes, I like it much better then the stock
Be safe Tony. Glad you are doing good and have that airbag protection now.
This video is a couple years old, but wondering if this is a group in the Austin area still?
Yes it is, ADV riders of Austin
@@IronButterflyAT Awesome! I’m interested and I know someone else that will be too! What’s the main form of communication for the group. As far as upcoming rides and such?
FB
You need room in the jersey and jacket to allow it to inflate, right?
Yes, I got a new mesh jacket today. 4xL
Are you using the parking brake lever or the foot pedal? I have a DCT and use the foot rear brake and I use the hand/parking brake when bike is on center stand to stop the rear wheel.
I deleted the foot lever and removed the parking brake lever from the handle bars. I installed a left hand master cylinder for the rear brake.
Do you have a video riding the bike with this mod. I am interested of doing the same thing. I also have an AfricaTwin dcg.
Just about every video on my channel with the AT is with this mod.

Awesome scenery.. a bit similar to parts of Oz 👍
Thanks
Are you posting a video of your Old Ore Road ride? A couple of years ago it was very rough when I rode it. Rangers said it was about as bad as Black Gap. Have they worked on it?
Yes, I’m working on that. They have tamed the roads quite a bit. More user friendly.
what was the tire pressure?
10-12
i'm older to and live in south AZ ITS more rocky hear and i don't fall that would be bad for me !!! so i ride full rock / off road tiers it ride good on road and i drop to 25 psi and chill /pick my lines better not good to be out getting hurt you got nothing to show if your F'ED up i have been on dirt all my life and i will stay STAY A WAY FROM 50/50 tires get the right tool for the job !
I have been thinking of getting full dirt tires as I do not ride this bike on the street. Thank you.
Feel for you Tony. Glad you got up and rode out.
Thank you.
Im not a fan of DSports, but dont ride deep sand or mud. Your oem 50/50 tires or K270's would be better on this terrain cuz they are softer compound and closer knobs. A lot of people dont realize how hard the DSports are, not great on rock on or hard pack. And they rear is too heavy for the 250/300 dual sports, it saps power.
I agree, thanks
yeah dude this one is on you lol
Btw that wasn't a front tire washout, that was a rider not being careful about his line. It's like falling into a rut, your sidewall isn't going to do jack for you. Stand up, maintain throttle and balance, unclench the sphincter and ride on.
Looks like you rolled on a rock on an off camber low traction surface. I don't see how the tire is at fault.
Lots of steps in the chain of errors before that tire gets all the blame
Good riding Tony.
Thank you
Does the rotopax touch from the ground when countersteering and cornering? How is it when you fall down? How's the handling of the bike with the trailer offroad?
Fantastic video! Thanks man
Glade you liked it, thanks for watching.
Hello, I really like your video content. But as a CZcams expert, I noticed one thing: your video views are getting fewer and fewer. Later I researched your channel and I saw your video SEO score is Low . Your video and found that SEO optimization is not done in your videos due to which your videos are not going to your targeted people, your videos are getting less views and channel subscribers are getting less.
Ok, so what is the catch?
@@IronButterflyAT I will help you.
@@IronButterflyAT I will help you if you want.
you must not monetize, otherwise i dont know how you clear all these songs! great video, things look much easier than last time i was there a few years ago, im excited to go back again!
ok ive watched further into the video and the harder parts are still there, just when i was there the easier part just had a fresh load of gravel dropped and none of it was bedded in really, we were just swimming in deep loose gravel the entire road it was a nightmare
Not looking to be monetized, I just want to put out good stuff.
Yes, there was some of that on river road this time.
I haven't heard anything good about the dsport front tire, the pirelli mt21 is a really popular choice for more off-road oriented dual sport riding if you haven't tried it
Agreed, I will try a new front once I burn through this one.
Thanks for the video, but that was the strangest review I have ever seen. I am not quite sure if it was a review or more of a description of the tires. Just my 2 cents, happy riding and good luck with future videos.
Would of been better without the music.
I know a lot of you just want the bike sound. I will adjust for the next one.
I feel like bikes are getting unnecessary harder to work on with more and more parts in the way. Considering it’s a “naked” engine bike it takes way to long to get to the valves to do a valve job or anything basic maintenance
Agreed, but in my case I enjoy the proses. I have ideas to simplify this bike but it will look nothing like an AT 😎
So how does it attach to the motorbike? I missed that part!!
It is attached at the chain axle slides, or stock through the axle bolt.
