In this video, we do a quick review of the new 34inch ultrawide monitor from Dell, the the Dell P3421W. In this video we break down the issues and highlights of the Dell P3421W, and give out our final verdict after 1 month of using it.
I bought this monitor for only $918, and at that price, the DELL P3421W is worth every buck you spend. Picture this, the Dell P3421W is a 34inch ultrawide, has IPS panel, has USB-C docking and as a bonus, a built-in KVM Switch. The Dell P3421W is the best affordable 34inch ultrawide there is on the market!
The only other monitor that roughly has that specifications at the same price range is Philips 346B1C which retails around $898 NZD. The caveat, the Philips 346B1C uses a VA Panel, while the Dell P3421W retails for $20. If you were to choose a monitor and for $20 more, you get IPS over VA Panel, with no hesitation I'll take the IPS panel any given day. This is why the Dell P3421W is bang for every buck you will be spending on it. Saying that the Dell P3421W is bang for buck is even an understatement.

Unfortunately, this didn't work for me. I also never found the CMOS battery, so I ended up disconnecting the entire motherboard of all cables. Upon startup, I still just get the Dell logo and it never moved past it.
IT WORKED on my XPS 13 9315. Prior to this, talked to Dell tech support and they said all my data was lost. With your help, I was able to start up again. Thanks.
I've got the same exact model as yours and since I've got it it's been problem after problem. Never buying a Dell laptop ever again.

My XPS would boot to the dell logo load screen but go black and then repeat endlessly, f2 and f12 unresponsive so no way into bios. Tried eveything and as a last resort unplugged and replugged every cable I could find. When reinserting the usb daughterboard cable I didn't reinsert it far enough so it was essentially unplugged. Laptop started and functioned normally, except no usb ,of course. Reinserted cable properly , and I was back to endless boot loop.I've checked usb sockets for bent pins and I can't find anything amiss so I ordered a new daughterboard, only $20. Fingers crossed but I thought this might help someone with the same problem.

Nice work. 8:13 probably meant to say "Reattach BATTERY ...." but all good. Pity about the missed screw. Happens a lot when there are a lot of screws to remove and replace. Always best to do an inventory and go really slow when putting it all back together. Dell really made keyboard replacement as difficult as possible on this model. I'm not into conspiracy theories but I wonder how many people simply trash the device once the keyboard gives up the ghost. Real shame because the XPS 13 is a very nice Notebook and the keyboard is usually the first thing to become a real problem on these models. Cheers from the Land Down Under.
Good catch. Yes I meant reattach BATTERY for that timestamp and agree on the XPS being a really nice and powerful Notebook. I still think the XPS keyboard replacement is way easier and a macbooks? :D But, I have not tried replacing the keyboards on my macs though :D

DUDE!!! Unboxing is supposed to be some sort of review?? What are the lens made of? Cheap easily scratched plastic? some other material.. what is the vision like? Clarity? good quality??? Come on man.. You didn't even step outside your home!!! They are sun glasses,, NOT inside your home glasses..
The lens easily scratch if you buy the polarized ones. Just the plian black lens though does not scratch as much. The frame hinge also easily snaps. Aesthetic wise this is beautiful and really fits my facial structure, but after breaking at least 5 of these glasses, I just decided to buy myself a pricier SPY Cyrus and really happy with it.

The cable has been snapped on my M3 for 5 years... Finally ordered the replacement shaft rotating LCD hinge flex cable... Hopefully will be able to fix this myself

This didn't work for me. I believe the windows boot loader/config files are corrupt/stuck in a loop. I fixed it by creating a windows recovery disk on USB -> boot from windows recovery disk -> repair image. It booted into windows after that.

sure it worked for me too but after 20 times i'm tired to reopen the laptop again... isn't there a permanent fix ?

Great review and opinion!) Thanks! Another thing I would mention is that the KVM switch is very flexible by Dell Display Manager and Easy Arrange software! For example: • You can configure any hotkey for a switching to a specific video input, • Hotkey for switching between multiple video-inputs, • Hotkey for switching the USB hub to a specific device, • Hotkey for swapping: source B (secondary) to main: small window to large one and vice-versa • And most importantly, when bringing the mouse to the center of the screen in PbP 50%-50% mode, KVM automatically switches! In the same Phillips mentioned here, I did not find these functions.

It did, but I bought a cheap adapter from AliExpress and there was static on it. Just decided to either use a bluetooth headphone and sometime an audio interface

did you have problems with this setup? my power supply got so hot I thought it was going to start a fire. I got a bigger one but then it fried the led strips sadly.
Never had any issues with mine. I have had it for years now and it still works like the first time. One thing to note about these products though is the poor QA they probably go through, so every now and then, someone may be get the bad apple of the bunch/

I just bought Dell P3421w to use with macbook m1 2021 pro 16"and Im very disappointed. the extra space that it has from a regular 27" monitor is great, but the texts are just too small and the colors and sharpness are just bad. To work as developer its horrible experience, I know its not a retina monitor but the idfference between colors and text is just too much
Text are too small? You can adjust it right? As for sharpness, I think you have may your brightness too high. That was a problem to me too when I first used the monitor. I dialed down the brightness and it just looks way better that way. I use it for photo and video editing and for work.

The lens attaches well to the frames. Never had a problem with them falling off. The weak point of these glasses is actually the hinges. I have had 3 of these break on the hinges.
