Is it weird that I like to keep my cuticles? It seems cutting cuticles often leaves that area looking jagged and torn. I'm no professional but to me it looks fine without doing it. Though, to each her own and no judgement.

I’m going to tell that to my sister bc she did my nails so good but for my cuticles hurt so I’m going tell this

Here are my top tips for using cuticle nippers! ⬇️ 1. Go slow! This takes lots of practice and if you’re unsure, it’s better to err on the side of caution than over do it. 🫶🏻 2. Use the upper 1/3 of the jaw blades. ✅ 3. Use the top blade as your guide, line it up and gently push against the skin. This will cause the dead skin to pop up a bit making it easier to cut. 4. Do not pull! Make your cut, then release the blades. Pulling can tear the skin. If your nippers are not making clean cuts, they may be dull and need replacing. This is important as not to cause discomfort for your client. 🩷 5. If you have trouble seeing the opposite side of the nail, come around and up the opposite side like seen in the video. ⬆️ Bonus tip! If you accidentally cut into live skin, use styptic liquid or sticks to stop bleeding. We want to avoid this if at all possible, but mistakes do happen. ❤️‍🩹 If you are looking to learn more about how I prep nails using an efile and builder gel application. See my online classes! 🙌🏻 I know people debate all the time about cutting or not, if you don’t feel comfortable with nipping then feel free to move on! ☺️ We are only cutting dead keratinized tissue, if it was live skin it would bleed. This is so helpful! I’ve been getting dip powder nails for months but I’m wondering if I should switch to hard or soft gel? I heard dip powder isn’t sanitary. My nails are kind of weak if I don’t have anything on them so I prefer something that would be strong and would last 3 to 4 weeks. Don’t need to add length. Thanks for any additional tips!
