Question for you.. after the drip, did it not dry with a build up instead of being flat/smooth? Just curiuous because I want to give this a try.

No. We rinsed it completely and dried it before applying the clear coat.

any prep and post work?
Yes. The board needs to be clean, especially no wax residue if it’s a used board. Use acrylic paint and you have to protect it with an acrylic clear coat.

Very epic effect, but seeing as the black drip is a thicker layer? Do you sand it does to be even or does the clear coat level it off? I guess I’m wondering on how it feels to the touch. Do you feel the drips and extra black paint and if it feels smooth, how did you get that result?

Hey! You don’t have to wait long because it’s spray paint. It needs to be clear coated before it goes in the water. It’s best to let the paint dry really well before the clear coat. Use acrylic gloss

No. It needs to be acrylic. Preferably one that will adhere to plastic. And be sure to do an acrylic clear coat. Gloss works best👍

Love that drip effect! And I like how you kept the logo instead of just painting over it (seen a few people do that) I've always thought that made it look tacky or like a "home job" (it is, but nobody needs to know that 😜)

One day in the surf and all that cheap paint gets washed away
If you use an Acrylic Clear Coat after you're done painting the board, that good quality paint won't wash away.

What do you use to get all the wax off?
We put it in the sun to let it melt, scrape it all off with a wax scraper, and all the leftover residue comes off with a rag or fine grit sandpaper. Anything after that would have to come off with some type of solvent like Goo Gone.
Don't forget to do a base coat for lighter/brighter colors! Loving the drip effect!
Does the clear coat seal the paint and make it less vulnerable to chipping and falling off?
