great great run (altho you had me a little nervous at 3:10 ...)
I’m looking pretty hard at an Echo; just for class 1 and dealing with windblown chop. How’s the tracking on Echo?
By the time they ship it to you it will be 2025. Lol. Buy a Wenonah, same T-formax, less the excuses on delivery.
Son you are so fortunate , some people go their complete life gazing at the bricks 🧱 on the walls that have them imprisoned in the big cities
That looked fun
Unfortunately, we would still be able to destroy it in no time.
It needs deep water rapids
What's the lamination entail? I can't imagine this can take much of a hit without substantial basalt innegra...
@@Paddle_ca Well I do my tripping in the summer, when the bugs and water are low :-)
Next ones are carbon inegra but basalt is also great
Then the esquif might be better. Liter models coming soon
Did his stern hit the dock?? 😁
Bought a Cargo 17 from Derik last year. Drove out his way on short notice and he had the skid plates on and helped me strap it on to the top of my truck in no time to test it at Algonquin. Like him put a NT300 on the back of mine. Top, top guy, lots of knowledge and takes his time to go through things with you. Wouldn't hesitate to go back to him and recommend him.
One day it will be mine
Beauty
I've been debating getting a Huron 15 (which I know has shorter sides than the P15, but I like the lower weight) for river tripping - what do you think about pulling in the sides a bit to make them easier to solo?
Is the orange color only available in T-Formex Lite? For that matter, is there any difference in the T-Formex itself between lite and traditional, or is the weight difference only in the accessories like seat hangers and gunwales?
The orange is available as a standard color for the canyon, p-sport, Huron, pocket. The t-lite is currently only available on the Huron 17
Are the orange boats all T-Formex Lite, or is that color available in both Lite and regular? For that matter, is there a difference in the T-Formex itself between lite and traditional, or is the weight difference all in the accessories?
I just got a pros 16 in February. Paddles great, feels quick and fun
Great choice!
This gives me new canoe envy! More water toys in one place than I've ever seen! Thanks for sharing this Derik
Ça l'air vraiment le fun !!!
Mango camo is the best look ! 😍 looking for one for camping & fishing moslty lake but would like to go on river sometime !
It is a great colour! 🤩
j'adore la couleur !!!!
Love the colour
That’s what a canoe shop should be, boats and a passion for paddling. I going to buy my next Esquif from this guy
Thanks John :) appreciate the kind words 🛶
Love Derik’s energy. I’ve never met someone as passionate as him and he knows every model like the back of his hands. Always a pleasure to get out on the water with him and the community he’s helped to grow.
Thanks Ev! Always pumped to paddle with you too! 🌊🌊🛶
That Miramichi looks sweet. I wonder how well it works with a canoe pole?
Very popular for salmon fishing. I haven’t tried poling yet but it seems like it would do well being stable.
10\10 Loved it bro
Thanks Marty! Taking notes from you bro :)
I am interested in a Prospecteur 17, how is the primary and secondary stability on it? Does the 3 1/2" of rocker on the 17' feel similar to the 2 3/4" rocker on the 15'?... I mean is it relatively as nimble to turn considering the extra length?
The p17 is a very popular boat for tripping with 4 barrels. It handles big water while tracking much better than the canyon. It is quite nimble.
@@Paddle_ca Thank you. How is the stability of the P17 compared to the Canyon?
The canyon will stay dryer in rapids while the p17 tracks better. The primary stability is very similar while the secondary stability on the canyon might be a bit higher.
@@EG-Trav Id say about the same. would be very hard to notice the difference. the 17 may feel slightly more primary stability because of a slightly flatter bottom and less rocker will make it feel less lively especially when not loaded
Stunning run!
Love my PC!
Thank you so much for posting this video! I've been looking everywhere for input specifically on the Prospecteur 15 and how it compares to the Pocket Canyon. I really appreciate the info here and the nice close-up shots of the canoe. I got some great feedback from Evan and Ben as well - great to hear them get a shout out!
Thank you :)
I just got mine (in red) and I'm loving it so far! But that olive green looks incredible. Well done Esquif 👏
That’s wassup!
should make a comparison video between the Heron and the cargo 15 ! I'm trying decide between these two. definitely a stability comparison between the two
Thanks for the request! Appreciate the feedback :)
I love my P15. Perfect for tandem trips with my wife and an easy solo paddle. It was tons of fun on my first C1s and C2s last weekend.
Such a beautiful boat!!👏
Can you please show us a Spark?
BEAUTIFUL!!!
just ordered mine can't wait for this summer fishing trips!!!
Congrats!
How would this work in whitewater ? With airbags
Yes the mirarimich performs well in white water so the cargo 15 would be pretty good too!
Thanks for posting this! A comparison video vs other square stern models would be really helpful. Not sure what the best use case would be for each one to know which to buy? How fast if the Cargo 15 with the ePropulsion motor?
Thanks! I’ll work on that. Currently on my héron with the Newport(similar to epropulsion) I do 12kph. I believe the cargo would be similar.
@@Paddle_ca thanks! Sorry I guess I misidentified the motor
@@Paddle_cais the Heron stable enough for one person to stand in and fish out of or is the Mallard or Cargo 15 better designed for that?
I'd love to see you compare the cargo to the Rangeley 17'.... I want the Rangeley sooo badly. But the price is out of reach for me. Heck ? So is the cargo... It really stinks being old on social security...
Let us know what boat we should cover next
The new Mallard and Heron would be appreciated!
