Such a talented woman. 👏 ❤
FOURTH BARREN TALKS SMACK FROM THE GRAVE! HE'S NOT DEAD IT'S A LIE!
I absolutely adore Eddie Cantor singing this is him at his finest with such confiction it's believable.
This song will be, for fans of "I Love Lucy," forever linked with Ethel's rendition during her visit to Albuquerque.
I knew she could sing but never dreamed to this level. Outstanding!
Doris day was always great thank you
Beautiful! She reminds me of Anna Russell, who was also a trained opera singer who turned her takent to comedy.
i see mrs Bucket here
What splits, what footwork, what acrobatics! Gene Nelson never ceases to amaze me. Always a pleasure to watch, in his later career, he took to direction and directed quite a few TV episodes that I was privileged to watch. His best films with some jaw-dropping dance numbers were Tea for Two, She's working her way through college, and Two sailors and a girl in which he co-starred with his current sweetheart at the time, Jane Powell.
Little attention is afforded to twinkle-toed Gene Nelson, but I have to admit, and give him his credit, that he was a fantastic dancer - one of the very best in Hollywood. Though he was a fantastic dancer with a range that comprised ballet, gymnastics, tap and soft-shoe, he was modest enough to tell a reporter that his favorite male dancer was Tommy Rall. Doris Day, once considered Hollywood Royalty, was a fantastic actor [even in dramatic roles], dancer and, above all, singer. My one grouse against Doris is that her hairdo in the early Warner Bros. flicks was very unbecoming, bordering on the ridiculous. That silly page-boy hairdo may have been in fashion at that time, but it clearly didn't suit her. See how pretty she looked in her debut "Romance on the high seas' and My dream is yours when she wore her hair shoulder length or piled high. Nevertheless, she is one hell of an actress who is dearly loved even today.
I truly enjoyed the movie because you could understand every word and the singing made you want to sing even after the movie finish most it was romantic a pity modern movie were more love these movies thank you for. Giving us the chance to see these wonderful movies.
Wow
Fabulous. If you haven’t heard her in “Cowardy Custard” try to find a recording.
The short bit on the seesaw must have involved incredible amounts of trust!
She's ABSOLUTELY.a brilliant performer...such a great talent ...great voice...creating funny timing....a REAL JOY❤❤❤❤❤
Patricia Rutledge is a true star! Her singing and acting are simply mesmerising. It's heartbreaking to think we won't see such talent again. The dedication and effort she must have put into her craft are beyond words. Truly an unforgettable performance!
How ever did she get a reputation for being Miss Goody Goody? This song shows she could be as sexy as any other woman in Hollywood.
beautiful woman who could act sing and dance
Claudia Castenada ! Bravo!
This movie was wonderful--they don't them like this anymore.
At 95 she’s still going strong. In the 1990’s we needed her humour. Today we still do. Though the PC Brigade will censor all old humour because they can’t understand it.
She's singing at me , don't let her sing at me !!😂
fantastic!
You never looked so beautiful before Each time I look at you I love you more The things you say All sound so sweet and tender What can I do, but tell you I surrender? You never looked so perfectly divine It's almost like a dream to think you're mine You're everything lovely Everything that I adore You never looked so beautiful before You never looked so perfectly divine It's almost like a dream to think you're mine You are everything lovely Everything that I adore You never looked so beautiful before You never looked so beautiful before
So did Freddy Mercury.

According to the profile on this flick, it was Mae West's last for over a decade because she was weary of locking horns with the Hays Code censors. This song is wonderful; certainly wish I could find the sheet music.
Beautiful song and Beautiful girl. For the soldiers in WW11.
"The bouket residence, the lady of the house speaking... No this not the Chinese takeaway"...😂
I think it would have been interesting to have Audrey sing the parts of Eliza when she's yet to be "molded" by Professor Higgins
She deserved a "bucket" for that performance
And Doris Day who couldn´t dance because of a serious injury!? A marvelous performance anyway!
As an accompanist, I wish that the pianist on this video was credited (perhaps he is somewhere that I can't find). Without his brilliant work, Patricia would not be able to do what she did. Having said that, she is a one-of-a-kind treasure, and I love her dearly!
2:07 Love that little cock of the head he makes. James Cagney had a style all his own.
Audrey's voice was far better for the role.
There can never again be anyone to equal her.
I loved her.
THE BEST
How beautiful this performance is. I’m sure Schumann would have strongly approved!

Listen to the very young Patricia Routledge in the original London cast recording of Little Mary Sunshine (1962), or Eileen Brennan in the original American production (1959). It's hard to believe either one is the adult actress we've become familiar with. And a great musical.
Anyone else remember this song from Lindsay Kemp's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream?
One of our national treasures. Every performance, whatever it is, is a masterclass, I believe that some years ago she gave a speech somewhere that was part parody - in the most beautiful English-speaking voice. What a gem of an ectress, and person. .
THAT was quality entertainment. 👏
Isaiah
Very nice!
I like it better than the one in the movie. It’s not real.
LOVE IT!!!
As the magnificent singer, great interpreter and skilled composer Richard Tauber was, he probably awakened hearts galore… with his music and his voice… ❤️🌹❤️ Thank you for this wonderful post! 🙏🍀 (The song‘s original German title is „Weißt du, was schön wär‘“ - just in case someone doesn‘t know but is interested…)
I'm actually here from the murderville deleted scene. So I'm better than y'all.
