She Wore a Yellow Ribbon
At Charlie Company's 2012 Reunion in New Orleans, Sgt Dan Kerr stepped up during our Banquet Dinner evening and led our ole troopers by calling out cadence in remembrance of Lt. Charles "Duffy" Black who called cadence in the Summer of 1966 at Fort Riley, Kansas as we marched out to the rifle range.
I felt tremendous pride being a United States soldier with Charlie Company, 4th/47th Battalion, 9th Infantry Division and I've never forgotten Lt. Black calling out "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon" as we marched. Indeed, it was impressive.

This song makes me cry
They paved the way for those of us who followed
We were so young then.😢
Good word thank you I have several friends on the wall that served with me 69 70 b Moody Mississippi
The Vietnam veterans memorial Wall is very healing...I've been there countless times and it's a risk you have to take to heal!!!I served as a rifleman 0311 in Nam.. wounded and eventually medically retired from the Corps. I spent 26 and one half years working for the veterans center program as a therapist and as a team leader on the east Coast prior to transferring to the vet center in Las Vegas Nevada and have brought many veterans to the wall and they found it to be healing.
Thank you for this! So many, to young! I have been to the Wall 4 times. I am a female veteran of the USAF ‘68 - ‘72. This pass summer my daughter took me and my grandson to Washington DC and I made the trip to the wall again and told my grandson about it and why it is so important! There was an older couple sitting on a bench and when I looked at them I could see the crying! My grandson walked up to him, put his hand on his arm and “It’s OK, God has them now. My Gma was in the Air Force and lost many friends. So we honor them and you”. God Bless America! May our beautiful continue to wave over this great land!
RESPECTS 🙏. PRAYERS 2 ALL FAMILIES, FRIENDS AND MATES WHO LOST LOVED 1s IN VIETNAM. MAY OUR GRACIOUS HEAVENLY FATHER IMBRACE U ALL WITH COMFORT AND LOVE. LEST WE FORGET VIETNAM.
EVERY TIME I HEAR THIS SONG I STILL GETS CHILLS UP AND DOWN MY SPINE ❤❤
For myself and others they will always be more than just a name on that wall ,

I was blessed to see the wall again last year while on an Honor Flight. As a Vietnam Veteran it is a very special place
Death in the civilian area is different than death of a combat buddy! Only a vet that served in war would understand that.
Served in Vietnam 66&67. I am proud to have served. A war that wasn't understood by the men who fought there

I proudly say that I am the wife of a Vietnam Veteran who served 2 tours there out on the Cambodian border as part of a Land-clearing Team. We went to the Wall but he didn’t get close to it. Memories and the effects rules his, thus our lives a half century later. He is still there most of the time. He says one day he will forget…. When he is dead. Bless every soldier. I wish you all Peace and Love.

They need to try Jane Fonda as the traitor she is, so many suffered from her treasonous actions.
My only Love a two tour Vietnam vet who is buried now at Arlington not a day goes i don't miss him or remember the things he told me. God bless you all he might not have died there but it killed a lot in him.
May God give you Peace 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I read this book. An avid reader of war books, I took a month to read it because I cried so much. When the documentary came out and had home videos these guys had taken, I burst into tears knowing those guys were going to die. This book is as real as it gets. Written by a history professor, it includes many stories told by the guys themselves and was guided by a vet the professor met when he took his class to a PTSD group meeting. The vet had a flashback and completely freaked out upon watching the documentary that was being shown. He "came to" in a hospital ER, but he soldiered on, contributing so much to this amazing book of brotherhood.
My parents were young teachers at that time and it broke their hearts when their students were drafted.
I'm a veitnam veteran who served in 1971-72
Wow!!
Our HEROS, Sons,Daughters, Brothers, ARE MORE THAN A NAME ON A WALL!!!!! They fought for those oppressed, protected our Freedom to keep AMERICA Safe. Our Son was KIA May 26, 2011, Pathfinder, 101st AB. HE DIED WITH HIS BOOTS ON, DOING WHAT HE WANTED TO DO! Yes I still have tears and miss him. God has a plan for each of us. God needed his Boots in Heaven.
I was in VN '66-67 but I was up in II CORPS Pleiku, AnKhe, I went to HS with Cameron Rice who was in this outfit. He was killed and they never recovered his body. This parents refused to accept he was dead. I remember him as a little kid who I really liked. Soft spoken and quiet. I understand that he took a rocket in the chest and was just gone. Ir's in the book, those kids never stood a chance. What a fuck up, boats got out ahead came around a bend and 200 VC were 35 yards away and killed everyone instantly.
I was i Vietnam in 1969-1970. I saw the wall October 16th 2023. I am lost for words about how I felt. All gave some, and some gave all. I waited 50 yrs to see it. I just shake my head and wonder why did I get to come back and they didn't.God isn't thru with me yet. He has something more in store for me I guessI
God Bless You thank you for your service. My brother served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War..glad you made it home safe

As a Vietnam Veteran this is a great song and can’t listen without tears
My uncle Sgt John Taillon C company 5/12th 199th died 3/3/67
From another Vietnam Veteran I thank you for producing this video for all to see. That Vietnam is now taught in school with so little mentioned about it is such a lose. 58K plus lost their lives and many more since. And the many cowards who went to Mexico or Canada to avoid the draft--a very bad thing. Those who served in Vietnam did HONORABLY and did what they were put there for in whatever capacity. Such a shame our return was so marred by the many protestors and cowards who did not wish to go.
