19-Year-Old ROGER FEDERER defeats King Of Wimbledon (2001)
Federer, just 19 years old at the time, faced Sampras in the fourth round of Wimbledon. At the time, Sampras was considered one of the greatest tennis players of all time and had won seven Wimbledon titles, setting a tournament record.
The victory over Sampras represented a generational shift in tennis. Sampras was considered the dominant player of the 1990s, and his defeat of the young Federer marked the beginning of a new era in the sport.

The way you edited all the breaks out made it so enjoyable to watch. I would never have sat still long enough to watch a match like this live. The best match I've ever seen, bar none. Neither side gave an inch. Some of the touch half volleys, foot speed, and passing shots was absolutely incredible. You could hear what a heavy flatter ball Sampras hit with his serve vs more of the spin on Federer's serve. I’ll bet walking onto the court Sampras had no idea he was ever going to lose that match. Thank you for making my night!

Monica had a problem with food way back in 1991. She didn't have the fitness level or practice drive like Graf. There is NO WAY she was going to keep dominating. From Sports Illustrated 1991: "There she goes again, slathering heaping mounds of butter across her steak, her French fries, her pizza. "Ugh. Gross, totally grody, I know," she says. "But I can't help it. I must be addicted to butter. I just can't eat any food without it. I know it all goes right to fat down there, too [she points below her waist]."

My fave tennis story of Wimbledon was McEnroe deciding to play in '77 after he graduated in high school, as an amateur before his freshman year at Stanford in which he would become the NCAA champion. Mac played the qualifying rounds in '77, won a spot, then kept winning, making it to the the quarterfinals, despite not being eligible for prize money as a amateur.

What was Sampras's opinion on Fed 40-15, with due respect, put Sampras there, I believe even at 50, he would still have been able to serve the ace, to win championship point, against Djokovic.

People go on about how sh*t the strings and racquets were in the 60s and 70s. But even here in 2001, I can tell from the sound of the ball on the strings how my Babolat aero pure with luxilon alu power is WAAAAY better than the setups Pete and Roger were playing with. The racquet and - even more so - string technology has advance so much in the last 23 years....
