CSX Heritage: Locomotive 1877 Honoring the Chicago & Eastern Illinois Railroad
Roll out! CSX Locomotive 1877 honoring the Chicago & Eastern Illinois Railroad has officially joined our heritage fleet. The C&EI Railroad, founded in 1877, played a critical role connecting Chicago with southern Illinois, St. Louis, Mo., and Evansville, Ind., during the expansive growth of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Part of the C&EI's Evansville line was eventually sold to the Louisville and Nashville Railroad which ultimately became part of the modern CSX network. #ONECSX

Awesome job CSX keep up the good work on your beautiful heritage units❤
Yo nice, bio diesel, I aspire to work in CSX
I remember the C&EI. In Evansville Indiana. 1960’s. Rail spurs feeding into the buildings Form the WW 2 manufacturing. Of LST. Tanks ships. Jeeps. Rails feeding all the small towns. In Southern Indiana. Shame US government let the Railroad Rot. And tossed money at the interstate system building this white elephant. The railroad needs to create a light gauge rail , A closed system. Like the drive up banking. It would be like a theme park ride. Elevated track . Round tube like system. Sucking air with a blower. Climate control air. Be none stop ride. 100 mph. Bathroom facilities that you can drop off the rails and rest. Railroad needs to change technology on transportation. Solar panels store electric in battery bank. Use DC motors with squirrel cage blowers to suck air through air tubes. Create ing positive and negative pressures to pull the passenger car. It would be like an elevator instead of going up and down you are going horizontal across the earth. Have. One main rail at 6:00 o’clock. Two guide railed at 10:00 and 2 :00 .. less resistance. Move weight. With ease. You could send packages from city to city. Shipping at very little effort and time. No. Trucking or Killing the planet with carbon emissions creating global warming. No chance having wrecks or hitting deer. The. Railway right away is there. Just get started building. System to move freight or boxes. I believe. Every state should have an in state railroad and the rail interconnect with a federal rail system. The cost to build but easy maintainence . Look at the cost to build an interstate. It is being rebuilt by the time it is completed. And many interstates are worn out. The rail road. Has never stepped out of there. System. There is this covert Narsacistic attitude. Saying. This is the way we always have done it. Never changing. Later.
csx heritage are so beautiful

We Got A NEW Locomotive!!
Getting better
Heritage units are so cool! Is there going to be a Penn Central Heritage unit? It would be awesome if it would.
Next is number 1900 (seaboard air line heritage unit)
You should just run the 1877 in October, since it’s in Halloween Colors!
Wow, looks great!
Which other ones will you guys do?? I know the Clinchfield is coming but what else??
Still not a fan of the CSX cabs on these heritage units; a locomotive's cab is where the paint scheme is tied together. However, the C&EI paint looks real nice.
How long until Clinchfield ??
I wasn't half expecting this unit bc the C&EI was split between UP and CSX
The C&EI was purchased by the Missouri Pacific in the late 1960s. A condition of the merger was MP had to sell C&EI's Evansville line to the Louisville & Nashville. Long before UP or CSX entered the picture.
@@J3scribe Yeah, I forgot that merger was so far into the 20th century (1976)
@@J3scribe UP existed then
Awesome job on painting this unit!!! and thanks for your incredible information CSX!!
OMG YOOO I'M A BIG FAN OF YOUR CHANNEL!!!
Nice work, guys. Now convince your bosses to paint the ENTIRE locomotive in the heritage scheme and get rid of the CSX cab.
Looks good
Super happy for this. I live in Evansville, IN, which was one of the hearts of the C&EI. Can't wait to see it up here!
Amazing
Rebuild yall dash 8s and 9s for goodness sake, care more about your older engines Csx.. but nice new heritage unit.
They can't because ate the dash 8s and 9s CaseOh

@@RAtheGoodRailfanner_888 I'm joking
Just look at how clean it is
Beautiful unit!
CSX, NS 9939 was scrapped after the 2014 Mer Rouge train collision. I think you should build a NS heritage unit #9939 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Mer Rouge train collision. If you already have CSX #9939, spray paint the train white for a future train company.
Why would CSX paint a NS heritage unit?
I’m hoping CSX’s rival, NS would let them build a NS heritage unit #9939 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Mer Rouge train collision.

Beautiful CSXT like always
Great job
Nice job to the guys in the paint shop in Waycross! You guys never disappoint with these HERITAGE UNITS! I'd like to be in the shop when this process takes place. Cheers to CSX from Laurel, Delaware USA.
Great job on C&EI!
Love seeing our more obscure railroads getting attention. She's one sharp mullet.
I am sentinel prime

Love it nice job CSX best railroad!
When they get all the heritage units done, they should have a gathering at the Birthplace of RR especially since it is almost 200 years since B&O was chartered. Maybe a gold or platinum CSX locomotive would also look good like Chinese did in the 70's with a couple special gold locomotives
Keep on painting these heritage units, the design teem does a great job with the heritage portion, and i can only dream what they would look like with whole locomotive in heritage paint scheme
I hope you can see this unit on the Old Main Line leading on train
I would love to meet somebody from CSX.
how many are they going to make
25 I think
Awesome CSX I like it!
Ah yes the 3/4 paint job
Make this the top comment for no reason
One of the best looking ones!
I saw this locomotive come through Cairo on M650 yesterday. Y'all did a great job!👍
So that's the train it left on. No one has reported it on the tracking website yet.
