My comment was more of a shout-out/reference specifically aimed at those who see Dark City as the closest thing we'll ever get to a _Mage: The Ascension_ movie. It's a TTRPG set in the _World of Darkness_ universe.

this was one of the first movies to have a terrible annoying boring CGI fight scene at the end. Now every movie has one!
Ah see he messed up because he should have either stopped time before throwing the knife or thrown a bunch of them at the same time to overwhelm his opponent.
This is one of those rare movies where the payoff was worth the buildup. You have to watch it on a large screen with the volume set to "permanent deafness".

Saw this in the theater when it came out. Blown away. I also remember thinking afterwards: did the music ever break? I feel like the soundtrack played non stop start to end. Need to watch it again and test this memory

That's because Matrix is a pos overrated copy of this movie, and yeah, I always thought Smith vs Neo in Revolutions copied the ending battle of this movie. Guess those Wachowskis "things" lack creative process?

I remember seeing this in the theater the music really propelled the final battle felt like it was shaking room apart along with everything else-awesome.

I've seen other films with extra terrestrial soul like entities, hidden inside human host, thus one here shows it as a soul in need of a body yet it is damned, draining and demonic, unlike star trek where a treal is bonded with its body Or the Host where new bonds were formed at the end but that too was almost a takeover without freewill this is the only film that shows the downside to an internal organism trying to assume power and control on a sub hellinic level that people can truly underatand.

The only scene I didn't really like despite the excellent effects - in the Director's Cut version at least: the noir influence in the movie was so high, this clashed massively.
Nah, it's a perfect ending. The shit just hits the fan and even the movie knows it has gone full retard but in the most epic way possible.
