This year (2023 april/may) we went to Greece with our camper which is a Hymer B524. Driving down (and up again) to Vlychada Beach was the most scary ride this year... But very much worthwhile. Okay now I feel pretty silly, cuz I haven't actually sat down at my desktop and tried to genuinely understand this, but apparently the first time I read your description of the circuit I missed the fact that the first few chip functions were not signal processing but controlling an EEPROM. I don't have a very thorough understanding of the function or usual application of that particular analog devices chip. After the reading the first three paragraphs of the data sheet, I'm even more unclear. Hi Im looking at using the AD5761 to make a smart function generator using ESp32 looking at your SPI code for Blue pill as partial gude. You use a table and push the data out to the DAC. Q1 what is your highest freqency? (I need to make 20Khz wave forms with about 32 samples in them). I can send SPI out via DMA to get my arbitrary wave forms from memory at high speed. Q2 You set the opamp to 2.5V ref. was this to set a DC offset? I would like to control offset via the micro. (Not be pushing the data , but setting it in the hardware) kind regards Dave

    • @DutchBigEd
      @DutchBigEd Před 2 lety

      Q1 in this setup I measured the following: min. time between samples: 9.4 uSec (0.106MHz) so 20kHz is totally possible. max. time between samples: 64.1 uSec (15.6 kHz) time CS is low: 8uSec (this is the actual load time of the DAC time between trigger going high and first CS going low: 17.8uSec (using TRIGGER 2, being the slowest of two) Q2: the 2.5 volt Vref is there to set the output voltage of the DAC and is used in the amplifier following the DAC to remove the DC offset generated by the DAC. This is actually a fluke, since if you read the datasheet, it shows that the DAC can be configuered as bipolar, that would have been easier and more straight forward.

    • @DutchBigEd
      @DutchBigEd Před 2 lety

      After writing the last answer, I changed the program to have the DAC put out a bipolar voltage (±5 volt) and removed the Vref from the first amplifier.

    • @davidrathbone6978
      @davidrathbone6978 Před 2 lety

      @@DutchBigEd many thanks for the detailed timings. Hopefully I can use the DMA to get high speed memory transfers to the DAC. I need to make a function generator that will make arbitrary wave forms with a 20khz timebase. The DAC you used is ideal as you can program it to be bipolar so I can even do the dc offset in code. @DutchBigEd Před 2 lety

      @Roman Opekushin I guess you are referring to the midi splitter, I’m still in the process of working on the software. But what I do is I designate a channel to the three midi outputs in the software, so if the midi file playing on the computer plays a note on channel 0 (e.g. 0x90 0x32 0x80) this note on goes to the connector designated as channel 0, if the note-on is: 0x91 0x32 0x80 the note goes to the connector set as channel 1. I also added a Patch command in the YMF262 players, so I can change the instruments with a midi command.
