Love the simplicity but is there not a need for a seperator given your running a lead acid (at least in my case) with the new* glassmat/lipo battery, they just have diffrent draws and capacity so i was just curious

Do the amp and 2nd battery need separate grounds? I’ve seen some people just connect the amp ground directly to the 2nd battery ground terminal instead to chasis.

Add a solenoid to avoid draining both batteries. Clean work

Having two different amp hour rated lead acid/agm batteries in parallel will destroy each other. You need an isolating continuous duty relay/solenoid with a high amp rating.

This video is not the best example/ method to hook up a 2nd battery...your batteries will lose charge when the vehicle is at rest or if you're parked and playing loud music...also this example would be better if you had wired both batteries together in parallel/series sequence
