What a lovely video. Thanks for making it. For a nation obsessed with the weather, we don't really have much of it. Extreme weather in England is "a bit wet" or "a bit windy." Our summer is two weeks where we whine about how hot it is rather than whine about hot grey it is.

Coming back to the UK from visiting my inlays in the Caribbean. I was so surprised at how green the country is and different shades of green. in hot contrary in general the green is not as intense and all the same shade.

Only Pot Noodles I eat are Bombay Bad Boy, Donner Kebab, Chicken & Mushroom and if they aren’t available Original Curry. Although since prices have gone up I only get them when on offer if I’m paying over a pound for instant noodles they’re gonna be ones like IndoMie, Samyang, or Nissin. Originally Chicken and Mushroom came with chicken and Curry came with rice. Also there was more sauce in the little sauce packets.

I was taught that it costs mothing to say please or thank you but it is appreciated so why not do it.

It's so true about sniffing vs blowing your nose! People constantly sniffing up snot really loudly annoyed me when I first came to Japan!! I always thought: Blow your bloody nose and get it over with!". Another thing which doesn't happen so often in public these days was men hawking and spitting out phlegm in the street in front of other people! Disgusting!! By the way i have taught many of my primary school kids bless you and thank you over the years!

Hi there, Shizuka-san. I live in Japan. Not sure whether you'll ever read this, as I'm commenting two years after you made this. Thank you for your very thoughtful and well-presented comments about the UK. By the way your "r"s are perfect! I wish my Japanese was as good as your English! I just wanted to say that I think you have absolutely beautiful carpenter bees (クマバチ) which visit my wisteria in May. They zoom around and hover and are delightful. Even your paperwasps (アシナガバチ) are nice. I let them make nests around my windows, and around the house. They are docile and like a lot of insects leave you alone as long as you leave them alone. I don't even mind your giant centipedes and if they come inside catch them and put them out. Female オニグモ give me the creeps though, and I once had a huge huntsman spider in the house which I had to catch and get out myself. In my spider guide they were pictured wrestling giant cockroaches. I must admit I felt queasy by the time I put it out the front door. The spider strode off into the undergrowth looking for beetles to duff up.

Love the bloopers at the end lol. Think its cute when japanese cant say r in a word very well. I struggle the other way around. Like ありがとう. The r isnt the same as our r. But i seem to have gotten more used to it now.

When someone in passing asks 'how are you?', i sometimes reply, 'good thank, you?' Sometimes in a rush as passing by, i sometimes forget to add 'and you?' On the end lol. Im born and raise british but my social skills arent great due to social anxieties/awkwardness. I feel guilty after but i try not to dwell on it. My mind easily forgets social cues as im thinking about so many things at the same time haha 😅.

Honestly, as a British person, we are hugely underprepared for every type of weather. We know that Summer is hot, and yet, we have no air con. We know that it snows sometimes, but every year all the trains get cancelled from snow.
