      Lynn, as far as I can tell, I’m the first of the crazy’s to mount a micro power pole on his twin troller. I’ve just completed this task last week. I’ll be running it through it’s paces for the next couple months to prove the concept. Then I’ll announce it to the rest of the world. Please don’t ask me for details now too many to discuss in a chat. If you send me a way to send a couple pics I’ll show you what I did.

    I lost a $200.00 rod and reel combo this summer using the original rod holders on the Twin Troller. I replaced with Scotty Rod Master II's. Other than this the Twin Troller has been a very good boat for me, so good that I got rid of my 16ft and 14ft boats! I am strictly a Twin Toller fisherman. I go in the willows for bass and crappie, but I also use it to troll for walleye. Perfect boat!!!!!!!!!!

    Hey Dan, thanks so much for your video. It was really well done and extremely informative. I am in the process of putting together enough money to be able to pay cash for a twin troller. So I’m not yet a twin troller owner. However, I have been extremely curious about whether or not this boat can move out in the water. It seems that you were saying that I’m only going to get about 3 mph out of the twin troller trolling motors. That sure doesn’t sound like much compared with kayaks that are sporting a bow mount trolling motor. I was then going to get the gas motor as well and was shocked when you said it was only going to give 1 mph more speed than what the trolling motors gave. That is astounding. I’m a little depressed at this news. My first question for you is are you satisfied with the amount of speed you get from the trolling motors? My second question is, how do you feel about the Honda 2.3 outboard? I understand that they are made in China which really turned me off. I was thinking maybe I would go with a mercury or a Yamaha so that I could get something that was made in Japan. How do you feel about this? Thanks so much for your input! Ed

    • @danharvey61
      @danharvey61 Před 3 lety

      It would be nice to have bigger trolling motors for propulsion to get us up over 2.5 - 3 mph, however, it beats oaring and paddling. The Honda 2.3 gets me closer to 4 - 5 mph if I need to go to the other end of a small lake faster. I put an extension handle on my motor to be able to reach it better from the rear seat. I found if I’m not using the motor for several days, it’s best to turn off the gas with the side lever to let it shut down. It drains the gas out of the carburetor so it won’t gunk up on you from sitting. A small amount of “Sea Foam” additive I’ll run through the motor once a year to help keep the carb clean. As a small motor it has it’s limitations as you might expect. I feel that the extra speed is a nice feature as well as being able to get up slow moving rivers if I hug the bank and get out of the current. I carry a red 1 liter spare gas can like hikers use as a back up if I run out of gas. You can run a full tank for about an hour before you’ll run out.

    Great work Dan. I have been thinking about putting some type of rear post on my trailer as well. (Can I order the model you have?) My trailer is a 2019 model and came with LED lights even though they forgot to upgrade the manual telling me the wires were different when I assembled it last May. I figured it out after I realized the wires were different. I was hoping I wasn't the only one who's front bracket got bent out of shape and now that I've seen yours I have a cousin that welds aluminum and as soon as I can get my boat and trailer out of my barn it's going to him for a new mount. I heard you said you drove it to Michigan and just hope you enjoyed your trip as I live in Michigan about 12 miles from the Mackinaw bridge. I have so many small lakes up here so close I don'rt have to worry about those long drives and a bouncing boat. So hope you made it through the tornadoes okay and also this stupid Virus. Plan on spending many long hours sitting in my TT this spring, summer and, fall. Steve from Michigan.

      @@danharvey61 Well Dan I had a little problem with my ole heart that showed up about 5 months ago and it shut me down for most of my summer. I think I put my TT in the water 4 or 5 times total. My Cardiologist thought he could fix the problem with medication and I took two different ones through out the summer but it didn't change and I could only walk around for maybe 5 minutes before I had to sit down again. I had the worse vegetable garden ever not to mention the lack of fishing. The ole Doc finally decided it was time to put a Stent in and as the kids say OMG I was a new man. I have my garage half rebuilt and tons of other things as well. My wife has to threaten me with a Foot in the Ass if I don't slow down. Like you I travel out on a highway/ turnpike and it’s speed limit is 75 mph. Most trailer tires are rated for 65 mph and work fine for that but I really needed some wheels and tires that didn’t shake my car to pieces at higher speeds. etrailer.com has an 81 mph speed rated 12” radial and combined with a trued and balanced aluminum wheels solves my issue but it’s a bit pricey and you are correct, as a bonus the wheels look pretty awesome!
