It depends on the degree you are going for and if the job market has jobs available for that degree. Example; Healthcare professions, Education, Science, Pharmacy, etc.

Its always about connecting ✨, but they will never see people long enough to go through avarage life hardships with them, to share their happiness and be vunerable. Real human conection is not as simple as they make it.

It would be fair if menn and women did the same jobs, produced the same and got paid the same. It would also be fair if both genders where just as likely to get a date if they wanted, risked the same in war and that they both had the burdon of giving birth. But the world isn't fair and never will be. It could only be either better or worse in total depending on what we do. Totally independent of why it is so, there is no stable society that over time is able to produce happy people and functional families where most menn don't earn more than most women. And both men and women would be totally miserable in souch a society. And it would not last for long. It does not follow that men automatically should get paid more or that it would be totally fair. But When most men by natural reasons have the abillity to earn significantly more than his wife/girlfriend. Both are on average more happy and form more stable families. Avoiding violent men is an important skill. And for fathers, brothers, coworkers friends and society to protect women against violent men is a duty. Forming unstable relations because one think every man is a violent terrible person is dystopic.

She doesn't know what capitalism is and the real problem here. I guess it makes sense, she is a woman and a college graduate after all.

STEM PhD-privileged? When compared to a masters degree or law degree? Are you kidding. PhD students have waived tuition and a salary, masters and professional students pay $100K+ a year to be there. All degrees take privilege, but if you’re looking at the “maximum privilege degrees” you need to look towards the social studies and humanities graduates, who were not forced to think about how they were going to afford their degree. The political science degrees, who, without a job, went to less competitive law schools or masters programs and paid hundreds of thousands of dollars. Pointing at STEM PhDs, who fund their degrees with their research, co-ops, etc is counterproductive.

When I was completing the internship capping my master’s in school counseling, I made up a bar graph to display in the high school guidance office I was working in that I meant to show more education = higher income. However, the data I used was gendered male/female, and ended up showing another, more interesting pattern; females consistently had to have one level higher of education than males to make the same money; all the way from males making the same without graduating high school as females made of they had, up to males making the same with a bachelor’s degree that females made with a graduate degree! This would rather neatly explain why females go to post-secondary education more; and stay there longer! 😯

I hate how neo-colonial and lowkey or highkey arrogant some travel CZcamsrs somehow are. They go to India, for example, walk around mocking stuff and bashing the country and the locals while speaking a language natives can't understand. They try to be friendly and respectful to the locals while bashing the country to the CZcamsrs. It's a bit honest and funny, but also rude and disrespectful, even though they show interest in the culture. I always get a bit angry with their attitude when I watch one of those videos, but out of curiosity of the place I do. I had an Indian housemate and I wanted to know what his place looked like. I didn't like, but anyway, no need to be bashing about it in CZcams while acting nice to the locals.

At the end of the day your success has to be anchored in the contribution you make to the lives others. The best way to maximise that is through cooperation with other people towards a shared goal, as a great team is not additive it's multiplicative. And the best way to attract a great team is to forge marketable skills, not just in the technical domain but also in communication, influence and leadership. Spending four years learning how to critique society from the sidelines isn't any of those things.

it's also important to remark that a lot of people have been misdiagnosed by doctors or by themselves: just because you have ovarian cysts doesn't mean you have PCOS. high testosterone along with other hormonal imbalances DO mean that you have PCOS. a gyno found some cysts in me during a pelvic ultrasound and a very good friend of mine who has PCOS told me to get some hormonal bloodwork done because that's what's actually gonna clarify if you have it or not. ovarian cysts are in fact incredibly common and most women will develop and re-absorb them at least once in their fertile years without even noticing [unless they get very large]. stay safe and take care of yourselves!

Totally agree. Comming from Third World academia, where it still has some value on itself, I can confirm that is really frustrating in many ways. Is still amazing but vastly frustrating, very plutocratic and sometimes quite pointless.

There is nothing wrong with criticising men. The problem with the video is that the link between hedonism, travel culture and men appeared tenuous at best because it was not well elaborated. There is nothing inherently male about the philosophies of the travel influencers Alice critiqued. There might be an argument to be made that men might be more able to pursue a hedonistic lifestyle due to inequities in responsibilities, but she did not pursue this line of critique. The only link that Alice briefly mentioned was how some male travel bloggers used their conventionally attractive girlfriends as props to gain more views. Again, however this is a more general issue which has relatively little to do with travel blogging. Overall I found this to be a rather weak video with little to say
