    For the battery tray, did the group 35 tray have the built-in plastic hooks to snap in the harness? The tray changed for the 06 and 07 model year and I went with that but it does not have the hooks built-in for the harness. The part numbers are the same except for the last three digits. A00 vs A10 for 06 and 07.

    • @WorseThanChiggers
      @WorseThanChiggers Před 2 dny

      The battery tray is the metal part permanently affixed to the car,. So I assume that you're actually asking about the battery box part #31521-SDB-A00. Mine did have the built-in plastic clip for the wiring harness as can be seen in the video at around the 5:09 mark. For whatever reason, I didn't click the harness back into that clip during that segment of the video though I did it later off camera. The diagrams that I found online for both versions of the battery box assembly looked identical. www.bernardiparts.com/Honda-BOX-BATTERY-70D__31521-SDB-A00.aspx

    I'm leaving a comment on the video to say do not ever attempt to change the transmission filter it totaled my vehicle out attempting to change it so I'm having to lose a very expensive van it will now be parted out or have to go to the junkyard due to attempt on the transmission filter

    • @WorseThanChiggers
      @WorseThanChiggers Před dnem

      I can't see that simply changing the filter could ever cause a vehicle to be totaled. That, of course, assumes the procedure was performed properly and that there were no other unrelated issues occurring at the same time. I honestly think that you were just unlucky and the timing of those two events occurred simultaneously. That generation of Honda Odyssey was notorious for transmission problems, anyway.

    Odyssey had problems with the early 99 to 2002 to 2003 and they invented a tube connection that goes on the end of that black cylinder filter. It's so tight I'm not going to touch it. According to the dealership it's not even serviceable and not necessary and it's just a magnet. If you want a filter order one off eBay and put it on the cooller line going to the radiator. The line is closest to the driver side wheel.

    Since you have all that apart you may as well take off the solenoid that's on that side it's for 2nd gear. Test the solenoid directly on the battery. And clean out those two small little filters. They're about the size of a pencil eraser. I notice a lot of guys on car forums are using synthetic Valvoline MaxLife ATF. From Walmart. $26 a gallon. I believe you need three and a half quarts. According to the experts always check it when it's warm and turn off the engine

    the auto parts store showing me two different styles of transmission filters. I have a 2002 Odyssey. One style is wrong just as you have shown here and the other is flatter and odd shape. Edit: the only filter on the transmission is the black cylinder on top under behind the battery. The dealership says do not service it. It's just a magnet. If you want to filter you have to order one off eBay like the magnifine. Or a cheaper one. Install the new filter on the closest to the front wheel driver side.

    I'll tell you what. I've just got a motor for my 97 Toyota Dakota. It was just like yours. I'm in things will get just like yours. Same color it's a single cab. Full drum found speed. The same d*** colored, but I got a motive. For $200, cheap as hell and it looks like they have rebuilt the whole entire thing. I aint really looked at the. The heads aren't or anything like that. I looked at the injectors and The current shaft and time in everything like that but it smokes a little bit and it has a hot auto I can't get the owl go down for the laugh of me. I don't know what's wrong with it. I think it could just need new plugs. And copax and wires, I'm not for sure, but I know whenn I first got it and I pulled the sport plugs out of it. It had a little bit of gunk On the smart plug, it looks like dry up. Oh so I cranked it over a couple of times you know, to get the mother all nice and looped up again that way I can see, if I hear anything before I crank it, they said it just smoked a little bit when I first fired it up said for 30 minutes, it never smoked a lick. The next day smokes like a train head gas gotzer brand new. It seems like like every gasket on this motor is brand new. It seems like I was thinking maybe they had something and didn't know it. I don't know, it's kind of creepy when you open it up and. Dionystic, it looks like everything's been redone, but I let it sit for a good. While and I think honestly, they just forgot about it but other night it runs gwhat song, is it smoking? And is yours a metallic blue and purple? I can't really see it clearly about half blind. It seems like, but it looks like the same as that color is mine, sorry for the long message. And I hope somebody can give me some pointers about something with it. And it's a beautiful truck, bro seriously, I aint never gotten stuck with mom. Haha. Good eye! It's a little known fact that fixing a simple wiring problem can result in a full tank of fuel. :)

    I shut my car off . The fan never stopped spinning even after an hr of it cooling down . Was fine the last few times I seen it turn on and off. You think this is the Coolant sensor on the radiator failing ? I took my plug out and liquid came out

      The battery completely died also

      No doubt if the fan never stopped running. You need to check why power is continuing to be fed to the fan. Start by testing the coolant temperature sensor.

      @@WorseThanChiggers I don’t even know how to test it. Bought a new one for 11$ since I’m changing the radiator I’ll just change that also

      I recommend researching how to test components and perform other simple diagnostic procedures. Otherwise, you can end up replacing parts unnecessarily without confirming the root cause of a problem. You could have a bad fan relay or something else going on which would be important to confirm first. Think about it logically. If the fan is running continuously, it is receiving power. Work your way back through that system to see where the power is coming from. If it goes through a relay, test and confirm that the relay is good. If so, test what is commanding the relay to close.

      @@WorseThanChiggers also what I’m struggling with is my car is a 95 cabrio . You said the two 13 bolts in the front reflector . But I’m not sure if it’s the same for me . I see 8 bolts down here . ( bumper is off )

    I just wanted to comment and express my sincere gratitude and thanks for you putting this video series together. My wife and I just finished her head gasket fix on her 99 4Runner and we couldn’t have done it without this. This series not only gave us the step by step process but the confidence to even attempt it ourselves. Out of all the videos on swapping head gaskets out there this is by far the best. An fyi for anyone out there looking to do this: there are slight differences between the engines and model years. Ours is a 99 and we noticed several places where our particular engine didn’t match up with the one in the video. It threw us off at first but quickly realized his was a 95 and ours is 4 years newer.

      It was still running great at 255,000 miles when, sadly, I had to sell it due to the dreaded frame rust problem that plagued early Tacomas. It failed to pass our state's annual safely inspection. RIP, trusty old friend.
