I see you figured it out, soapy water is your friend. I usually hit both beads before I go to mount the tire. Then the tire will slip right on and I can go right into mounting the other bead. Leave the soapy water on and it helps when seating the beads. Also, the more soap in the mixture, the better. The same thing applies when you are removing the tire. Hit it with plenty of soapy water. There's no need to rotate the wheel when de-beading the tire, just step on the edge after you broke the bead. It'll pop all the way around. I use a pneumatic foot pedal valve to inflate the tires. That way I can grab both sides of the tire and push down, then pull up fast while stepping on the pedal. Instantly seals the tire, then pops the bead. PS: The guide pin that goes through the rim is all you need to keep the rim from spinning. No need for a bolt.

Just bought this lift...I like it, but it stutters lifting without load and it struggles to lower without load...me at 200lbs is barely enough and it takes some hops lol but...cheap(ish) and works. No leaks, 3.8L of fluid is overfill on mine. Came well packaged though....the crate, metal bolted in tie straps, bubble wrapped all parts...assembly: handles, casters, the rest is easy quick connect and oil fill. Hope this comment helps others, this review sold me lol. Also..."tight like tiger" lmfao seriously thought I was the only one to randomly insert movie quotes while working...thanks for the review.

I Just bought this from HF, and they have added rubber mats on the long arm on the base, and one on the base on top that holds the tire. I am Absolutely going to modify mine just like Mad Ginger did. My issue is I am trying to change a lawnmower front tire, and the post is just a bit too big for the hub. So I am cutting it off, finding some thick allthread & a coiple of matching nuts. Then welding them in to the old one, & make that part exchangeable. Then I will be able to make more parts to fit, or use for other stuff. I want to be able to also use the base for my planishing hammer, and other shop tools. My shop is currently Wayyy too small, and anything that saves space, & multi use is what I like to buy. I hunted down a Shopsmith Mark 5 This is a great woodworking machine. It includes a variable speed headstock, which has a spindle on both sides of the headstock that you can then use the table saw, 12" disk sander, horizontal bore, verticle drill press and lathe. Other tools are available that connect to the outboard side of the headstock like a jointer, planer, belt sander, scroll saw, and bandsaw. It is not a professional machine, yet the guy before me used it to fully finish the inside of his new house. Trim, doors, cabinets, some furniture, Everything that looks to made by wood, he probably made. His spindles on the stairs match the legs on his kitchen table and chairs, basically anything round like that, has his design. I am working on buying a 24' or larger box truck. I am starting a side hussle making personalized gifts, art, decorations, or anything I can make using my professional laser, criket, and Shopsmith using wood, metal, acrylic, glass, Etc... I plan on going to farmers markets, fairs, races, and selling stuff online. I am doing this for fun, but if it turns into a something more, that is even better. Ok, my comment is long as hell, and I appreciate you taking the time to read this! Do you know of any multi use machines that you have, want, or know of that is Great for a small shop? I have 5.5 about on gladiator 2020 4.5 lift on 35 tires and it drives like a charm at any speed. Of course when other little car havr a hard time to deal with strong side wind so do I with this sea container aerodinamic shape of it 😂 other than that i old it with a light one hand 🤷‍♂️. Geometry will differ to so many factors. I found mine. No desd wobble but all is perfectly maintained. There is zero mouvement on no parts under my jeep

I watched your video on the tire balancing machine and I noticed the same thing you talked about after the video I made the same mod you did and it worked perfectly that was a good thing keep it up I have been a mechanic and shop owner for 45 years love it when something so little makes such a difference. I can’t believe the manufacturer has not figured that out lol

If the bead doesn't want to seat, put a ratchet strap around the tire and squeeze it. That should make it easy to seat. 20:48

About the soapy water thing...I was watching another video a while back, and he reminded us that the water could cause the rim to rust in time, 'cause it was sealed in and couldn't evaporate. He used some kind of bead lubricant. 😮 18:21

Once you break the bead, use your weight 😮 and stand on the tire. It will surrender and let go ! 😅!

I'd hate to see the shoebox go away. It's what brought me here to begin with and it's kind of part of MGC's identity. Make it a decent cruiser rat and use it to market your channel.

Why don't u just use a 4'x4' piece of 5/8 " plywood. Then mount it to that. That way you don't have to mount it to the floor. Your only gonna use it 3x a year perhaps for tires and flat tire patches.

Great video sir, the mix of knowledge along with the "lets learn together" worked well for me. Making the mods you put together look more sturdy than kits I've seen for sale (prob due to steel prices I would guess). Anyway, thanks for the education and improving my confidence level in moving forward with modifying mine. Going on to check out your follow up video now.

You guys are both rounding your back. When you bend over, keep your back straight & hinge at your hips. Keep your feet flat, slightly wider than shoulder length apart to get more balance, when you drop or lift the tire, feel it in the back of your leg and your butt... . Don't round your back. Keep your back straight throughout. That is called a deadlift in weightlifting. So be sure all the weight of the tire and your body is over your wide leg stance and going to the back of your leg and butt. Girls do it to get their butts big. If you use improper form you will hurt yourself over time. If you use proper form, you will develop ass like j-lo. So in essence, she only lifted the tire once. She needs to do 8 reps & do that routine 4 times. 8 reps / and 4 sets.

I drilled the socket out on my balancer and yes it moves more freely, but it's so free to the point that it wobbles all over the place non stop and it's hard to find center. If your tires are already close to balanced it's not big of a deal. But if they're way off, it takes a lot of time for the balancer to react to the weights placed in order to balance your tire. These bubble balancers are really annoying to use honestly..
