So einfach und so praktisch!👏🏼 Vielen Dank! Dennoch eine kritische Nachfrage: Wie sehr wackelt der Schirm denn beim Gehen? Es wirkt auf mich schon etwas "wobbly". 🤔
What's the diameter of the shock cord used? Thanks!
Thank you for this information, I just bough the Durston 55 and want to modify to the pack for my way of backpacking. This video will help in the modification that I'm interested in doing.
Nice THe big question is how well those loops will hold over time and under tension
Great hack!
Which version sleeping pad is that?

Thanks for taking the time to make all of these videos. I've used both this and the pole mods on my Kakwa 55 :)
Thanks for your video, I have just bought mine, can't wait till it arrives. Best quilt on the market in my opinion, and I have had a view.
Nice job.
Superior Wilderness Designs has some clip on side straps and clip on top Y straps of various sizes for some backpack brands. I grabbed some Y straps for my ULA packs. LiteAF also has some clip on side straps to add to their packs. Mainly just gotta check the strap width and like you said, find a mating buckle and all is golden.
What's the brand of your umbrella? Thanks.
Looks like six moon design
Oh that’s a very genius idea indeed! Thanks for sharing
Super ❤
That's a great idea. I'm going to use my Kakwa as a day pack today. These extra straps would be really helpful for smaller loads.
I like this idea, I also have a Kakwa 55 and might try this out myself. A few questions: 1. Where did you get the cords & cord stoppers? 2. Is there a certain technique/type of knot you used to tie the knot at the cord stopper? 3. How long did you make each of your loops? 4. Does your loop at the bottom use the 2mm dyneema or the 3mm elastic? Thanks!
1. You'll get them at ever DIY store like extremtextil, ripstop by the roll or adventurexpert. You'll find a list at learnmyog. 2. Just a normal knot. 3. I went by eye. Large enough to get the poles through without a hassle. Just try it out before tying it off and test what feels comfortable. 4. I use Dyneema. Others use elastic and cover it with a piece of clear PVC pipe like on Osprey packs.
Very cool, thank you! What backpack is that?
You're welcome. It's a Durston Kakwa 55.
This is a great tip that I will definitely be using. Thanks for sharing!!
You're welcome. My old Osprey pack had the stow-on-the-go in a more fancy way and it was one of my favorite features. So easy to DIY and it weighs next to nothing.
Thank you! This is one of my favourite features of my Osprey packs, and my Durston is on the way. So I will definitely be adding this. I wonder if it is possible to source the clear rubber that osprey puts around the cord for durability? That would be a cool addition!
Glad you like it. You can find the clear rubber pipes at DIY stores in the aquaristics section. I don't think you need them, though. Dyneema is plenty tough. The Kakwa's attachment loops are better suited to make a bottom loop like I did instead of doing it the Osprey way between two attachment points. The bottom attachment loops at the front pocket are too high and too far away from the bottom back attachment loops IMO.
@@rudiebln This looks great. Just ordered some cord locks!
