May 18, 2013 - Seattle Washington at the Paramount theater. Final encore and show ending from the British Pink Floyd show. Awesome show. Same members as Australian pink floyd. Filmed with my droid phone, pretty good video picture quality.
Sailing Puget Sound 12 - 15 knot winds 1974 Ericson 27' - May 5 2013

Opening weekend 2013. Heading back to Shilshole Marina in Seattle. Bouncing around in the swells, nice stiff wind - Rockin and rollin' and having fun. No pop-tarts for the porpoises! One of our fenders was caught on a sheet, but I liked how it held the sail nicely, so I let it be! Soon we will get some new sails, but these ancient ones work fine til then.

Ericson 27 sailboat - windy day sailing on the Puget Sound

Going from Seattle across the Puget Sound to Eagle Harbor on Bainbridge Island. Oct 2012. Nice 70 degree sunny day. Didn't notice til we got to Eagle Harbor that the 150% Genoa tore in the winds. You can see the tear in the video. All and all was a very fun day. Let the genny out too fast, let the wind unfurl it full speed. Will unfurl it more slowly in the future and and all the way in stronge...

Filming from the top floor of edificio Italia, 2nd tallest building in Sao Paulo. Scary big town. Took us two hours to get from the airport on the edge of town, to the center of the city.

That tiller seems positioned so far forward! How do you like it there? And how do you move around it for a tack?

Nice. We sail an 1970 Alberg 37 north of you in the San Juan Islands. Here is our sailing song, recorded in Bellingham, with photo montage of sailboats. czcams.com/video/NWdNZci2TDE/video.html

ToeamWim: You are most likely correct. We made this video on one of our first trips out on this boat. If you look carefully, we also tore the Genoa sail up towards the top by letting it out too fast in high wind. We have since had the sails cleaned and repaired. Thanks for your comment!

it seems to me that you have forgotten to loosen the topping lift. Correct me if I'm wrong!

We love it. These pre 1980 sailboats were overbuilt. Very thick fiberglass. The marine surveyor said the hull is in pristine shape. We feel lucky to have this boat.

Love the vid. Fellow Seattle sailor here. I have a Ranger 29, also 1974. I love the 70's vintage sailboats - well built, hand-laid glass, solid and sturdy. How do you like your Ericson?

Once we discovered the subway it made things a LOT easier. Gets you places in a few minutes that might be a half hour cab ride through thick traffic. If they made the subways cheaper it would do wonders for the economy of the city. Was about $3 US to go one way.

I am "paulistano", and I`ve been 3 times to Terraço Itália only at night time. The view at night is wonderful. Nice to have a drink or dinner, thinking about all the 11 million people on your feet. SP is stressing but quite nice to explore the urban jungle. You will be surprised ! Differently from other cities, in SP it`s your mission to "hunt" nice things to do. And there are plenty of them.

We noticed that most blocks have empty or half built buildings on them. God help Sao Paulo if there is ever an earthquake, most of these buildings are built with stacked up cinder blocks.

All those older high rises are going to deteriorate quickly without occupancy and regular maintenance, especially considering that the most are 35-45 years old. It's like Detroit in the '60s. Buildings become unusable fast once they're unplugged.

Thanks for the comment. We landed at Guarulhos about 5 PM and rode the airport shuttle bus to Congonhas, which was close to our hotel. We got caught in some rush hour traffic. Mid day or later in the day it might take an hour. It was a very interesting ride. went through a lot of non favela high rise cement ghetto. Lot of abandoned skyscrapers and other surreal stuff. Gotta love it!
