Jinhao 92 Fountain Pen - Not Quite a review
Hello Dude, I hope you don't mind that I'm contacting you here with another question. Do you know anything more about the Admok brand? Who does Admok belong to? After the Pelikan Clone M 800, now the M400 or J400 has recently been offered. I think the prices for both versions are completely excessive. And I have serious doubts about the quality of the material used. On the one hand, they talk about resin, on the other hand, the product descriptions generally only say "plastic", which is a too general term and mostly mostly meant derogatory . Resin is of course a plastic, but of higher quality in different grades, unless it is expensive natural resin, which is certainly not the case with the M800/M400. Can you tell me anything more about these fountain pens and the brand itself? Thank you very much for any information and your personal thoughts.
@@viggen232003 i bought Admok m800 before, it was pure disappointment once the package was opened. That's the reason why i don't even put on Admok unboxing in my channel. It is not ordinary plastic, It is very cheap crappy plastic! This brand is not worthy talking about at the moment. Avoid It.
@@Shanghai_Knife_Dude Thank you very much for the frank and open words. I thought so from the very beginning. Even though they got some positive reviews, which I doubted and didn't understand that the pens got positive reviews. I won't touch them. And it makes me thinking how serious and trustworthy the reviewers really are.
@@viggen232003 Chinese sellers are ahead of online commerce, they know all the tricks. I often laugheded at how innocent/ignorant 99% of YT pen reviews out there. But later on I realized they are paid Commercials! I could share a trick: whichever channel prise Admok as a quality pen, this youtuber has been bought.
@@Shanghai_Knife_Dude Yes, that's true. I already unfollowed one of those YT's who is constantly doing commercials for this 365days stationery, the most expensive seller on alixx. And for a lot of crappy and overprized new indian pen makers who are everywhere stating: handmade, Resin, Schmidt, Bock, Jowo and so on, claiming prices between USD 200 up to 6/700. But, they sell because of too many buyers who aren't thinking before spending much too much money
Where did you find the #8s for sale?
@@RichardVanWagner only available on its launch. Never seen restock since.
Hello Dude, thanks for the upload. Complete Silver FP, looking great, that beast. Thanks for the price info. It's still not on alix, most probably Hong Dian will serve the homeland market first, which is huge I guess and after saturation some alix dealers will be served. A matter of factory output capacity I think. Same with Majohn. That might explain why one particular seller can turn the price screw up for a certain period. Are Majohn and Hong Dian large manufacturer? I'm always thankful for some insights and any information about chinese manufacturer. Like your info that PenBBS isn't a private company but 100% OEM. Many westerners believe they are a small private enterprise, basically working from the living room....
@@viggen232003 Thanks. I noticed the monger/traffickers on Ali/Etsy charge people a fat premium, due to foreign buyers are inaccessible to China homeland price. Their honey moon is over. They got to hate me, i don't give them a shit. I am on people's side and promoting global free market.
@@viggen232003 HD S24, to my best knowledge, no plan for more. Due to this batch of raw material were left over from the past failed prototypes, therefore it could be made for $180. Thin margin, big trouble, really not worthy the hussle to keep it in long run. If in long run, it wouldn't be $180. $450 would a reasonable price range IMHO.
@@viggen232003 PenBBS is aiming for harvesting us dollar. Check its fancy Instagram pictures. All Will be charged to buyers. PenBBS, MJ, Novahle, fake Mont Blanc, Asvine, all OEM in the same shed. It's no secret amongst pen community in China.
@@Shanghai_Knife_Dude Thank you so much, it's very informative. That Majohn and Asvine have the same roots came to my mind when I bought Asvine nib replacement units which I could use in some Majohn FP's as well. Asvines pricing of their latest V200 is by far over the top in my book, so I won't buy it. Novahle? Do you mean Narwhal, later Navalhur? I thought they were from Taiwan? Anyway, never bought a FP from this brand, too expensive. There was for a certain time on the new OMAS website a message from the new owners and their new Managing Director, he called himself Frank Zheng (if I remember correctly - it was anyway a name taken from a US Science Fiction series) and he claimed having been hired by the new owners of OMAS as he was the successful founder of Nava;hur in 2017. Both messages have been removed by now. That the "fake Montblanc" manufacturer belongs to this group is a bit of a surprise to me. Their pens, sold by a few seller(s) under different names and all referring somehow to the name MontBlanc have a bad quality reputation. And Majohn's "hommage" to Montblanc series are well made, so no reason to buy a "faked MontBlanc" at all. When I became interested in FP's PenBBs was the price leading brand of Chinese brands in the western market. I got some, they are really well made, at that time the best nibs, great design and well processed materials, but expensive. They found out that Westerners in general are willing to pay higher prices, as they are used to high (over the top) price levels. For PenBBS the challenge was to establish the brand so that the western customers were willing to pay the prices. Asvine followed and I guess it will be only a short time frame that all major chinese brands will raise their price levels. I can't blame them, the money seems to be there and the willingness to spend it as well, it's called capitalism. Thanks again
@@viggen232003 China pen as a whole, will not lift it's price range. Believe or not, low, mid priced pens contributed most profit, fake Mont Blanc are bought mostly by mid East, European, big profit. PenBBS, they did make a noise, but domestic market does not give that brand a shit, long waiting time, not that superme quality, overpriced (compared with other local). The reason why PenBBS still there: lean balance sheet, no asset, all cash in advance, long order time, literally scam, high risk of disappear over night with deposit. LOL.
Sculpture pen. I cant find it in Aliexpress.
Probably never
@@Shanghai_Knife_Dude Why?
@@santauxia look into my comments to other people, still under this video. Also, HD confirms the discontinue, the boss had enough.
Thank you for this great video of a rare pen from a favorite Chinese manufacturer. I believe you mentioned elsewhere that only 300 units were produced (and seemingly sold out already). You have mentioned that your interest is shifting to this type of pens; I hope you will continue covering the Chinese fountain pens that everyone can afford. Regards 🇨🇦
the total units are much less than 300, 22X or something. And, FYI, towards the year end, there will be HAN in steel nib. That will be affordable and you might get it before Christmas.
Do you own the other 2 sterling silver Hongdian pens? The S1 and S2?

Third time I’ve watched this review! Gets better each time. Quick question. Looks like this is the third ebonite/gold nib pen from Wing Sung? The 600, 631 and now this one, 632. Did you ever get a chance to try the 600 or 631? Or, did you hear anything about those models? Just as nice as the 632?
@@jeffreyclayman6922 All ebonite 6xx models come with different dimensions and nib sizes, among which, I only own 632. FYI, gigantic #9 gold nib ebonite is coming, prepare your wallet.
Entertaining as always!

Shanghai Knife Dude, I found your channel through the Fountain Pen Network where I have enjoyed your humour and very honest reviews. Thank you for this excellent insight, you helped me realise I had a pen that could draw from the breather hole as well!
@@LChaderton Thanks. When ”honesty” becomes scarce in pen review, there must be something wrong. 90% of the pen reviews on YT not worth watching, either pure paid commercial or lacking critical thinking.

Verry nice pens. I would only love that they would not put the exact same clip design as a montblanc on them. There are only so many ways to design a cigar shaped pen and they showed us that they are creative especislly the ink window looks unique to me. Than just to use the same clip design is a little bit lazzy.
Do they post? Previous 136 did not posted securely.

@@Shanghai_Knife_Dude right :)) I just missed that part, was watching with "one eye" doing some work. 17:35 for the ones interested in how this post. :) Thanks!
@@Shanghai_Knife_Dude that's a real shame for Majohn to not be able to make a posting pen, many chinese pens are having this issue. A very tempting pen nonetheless.
@@AlinBalanean shame? I'd rather say it is a design feature. Personally, it is my toy pen. My personal faviout pen: Hongdian 1866, it is ergonomic, cheap, bling silver plated cap, and can be easily replaced. This Ti136 is unlikely to be on regular sale.
@@Shanghai_Knife_DudeIf the new Ti136 have the same size as Majohn P136 which does not post, this is a big flaw in my view, the pen body is quite small and requires the pen cap to be posted for better balance inthe hand. It might be a personal preference, but I see it as a design issue, not a feature. I agree with you on the HongDian 1866 Max wood edition. What a good deal on a perfect finishing pen! A steal deal especially with the new nib and feed. I love the black ebony version!
Rising Beijing 🙂
nice bro!!!!!
i had a chat with Majohn.. they said there is currently no tool to take out the piston and there is no need to take out the piston they said. The piston is partly made of brass.. i guess like their other pens, but not like the P139 where it is 100% brass except for the rubber.
ti136 piston quite looks like the one in p136. Brass thread, plastic rod, nothing fancy. I have seen picture online. I tried my p136 tool into ti136, the wrench is too thick to stick into the gap between nob & barrel. That's not bit deal, a modified tool can be easily made. Btw, check my video, asvine tool is able to remove p139 piston, if you really got nothing to do this weekend.
@Shanghai_Knife_Dude they said they have no intention to make the tool and there is no need to take out the piston. When I ask about applying the silicon grease, he said just apply thru the body with the nib section removed. Haha. I never thought of that.. I am just one month into fountain pens haha. Still learning.

Hi, there. Thanks for the information about this new 136 Titanium model. You mentioned USD 70 retail. Again the same pricing game on Alixx, only 1 seller (the very same as always) offers only the smooth surface version at USD 120. I'm so sick and tired about this shop, I can't tell.
