Your content is amazing and is helping me a lot. Congrats and thank you from Brazil ❤
We had a novice come to our club last week who said he discovered and learned go from go magic. Keep it up, we need players!!
Thank you
Congratulazioni! 🇮🇹❤
❤️❤️
Congratulations !! 🎉 :)
Если бы белые смогли поставить два камня на своей территории - справа сверху и слева снизу, то не получилось бы два глаза?
What if a player's prisoners outnumber his territory? Are the extra stones just disregarded in scoring?
Random question, but is this how you are supposed to place the board? Looks like he is sitting on the long side I've been wondering which side i should face the long or short side.
Unfortunately, something went wrong with this course. Some malevolent forces (and it wasn't Matthew!) set goban the wrong way.
@@GoMagic no worries thank you for letting me know.
You’re the best! No stopping now!
Thanks! We won't!
Matthew is awesome!
He's cool 😎
I can't belive the with 33,000 subs Go Magic is thr biggest channel in all of youtube, congrats on beating pewdiepie and everyone else
Largest *Go* channel, not just the largest. 😃
@@GoMagic Well, maybe someday
You should do game commentary! (Or do you do that already?) introduce us newbies to high level games
Thanks for the suggestion! We’ll definitely consider it. Stay tuned! 😊
Love this series
🥰
It said the coupon is expired when I tried to use it *Edit: Updated code works
Oh. Please try checking it again. It seems to be working for other users.
I am getting the same result Edit: updated code works for me too! 🎉
Yes, sorry, it was our fault. 😔 We accidentally posted the old coupon instead of the new one.
@@GoMagic No worries! These things happen lol. Can't wait to dig into these courses! 😋
I hate to say this really, but the demand for go in English speaking communities is not very high. And therefore so is the demand. Yet still, thanks for the go lessons
Thanks! We know Go might not be as popular in English-speaking communities, but we're glad there are enthusiasts like you who appreciate the lessons.
Chess is better than go but it still seems like a good idea to know how to play
We can't agree with that 😁 Both chess and Go have their unique charms and strategies! It's great to know how to play both games. 🕊
Крутаны!
Спасибо!

Thank you! 😍
GO opening looks like esoteric theory
Not always =)

board is still horizontal prepare for the comments
It depends on how you look at it. 🤣
Love videos hosted by Matthew
Yeah, he's cool 🧸
Just starting out. Suggestions on the best place to purchase a game board and best brand. There are so many out there. Thank you for all the great videos!
Buying a Go set can be a complicated endeavor. When shopping on marketplaces, pay close attention to reviews from other buyers. However, if you have the chance to visit a Go store in person, choose the set that feels most comfortable and attractive to you. It's not about material, it's all about comfort. But that's one opinion.
Thank you for the clear explanations! Absolutely wonderful videos that help me as a new player to get acquainted with various concepts.
Thank you for your uplifting feedback 😊
I want you to play my nephew. He will make you throw all concepts of go out the window. He has only played one game against me, so if you manage to beat him once, you will need to add stones on the next round.
Did you manage to win him?
@GoMagic no. I didn't win against my nephew. I have studied Go for 20 years, and my nephew only played once. He just kept on adapting. I couldn't trap him. I couldn't trick him. I couldn't even gain territory. He played black on even terms and came away with a 17.5 advantage. Someone better needs to teach him.
My favorite Go variant is Gomoku! But seriously, I do enjoy playing Go on a 15x15 board.
Gomoku, the perfect blend of simplicity and depth. Hm-m, 15x15 Go? 🤔 Sounds like you know how to enjoy the best of both worlds.
More example games pls, they are great
Yes, we have plans to do more in the future.
0:30 - what if the white plays at (say) A1 and B2? That would give 2 eyes, wouldn't that?
That's right. But it takes two moves. If White makes one, then Black can prevent them from making the second eye by placing black stone in the middle of 3 intersections.
I love these examples. Because it gets more interesting the more stones are on the board.
👍
I remember my friend Armando playing this move for the first time. He stole all my points 💰💰
Sweet memories? 😋
When will the 2nd part of the course come? I finished the first half and looking for the 2nd part.
We are almost finished with part 2. If everything goes well, we will release it soon.
Where can I get these books about essential shapes.
I'm afraid you can't buy them anywhere. We just drew them =)
