Making my Wedding Dress Bodice - Princess Bridal Gown
I got married a year ago today and I finally finished making the video on how I made my wedding dress! I’m not sure I would call this a bridal sewing tutorial but it’s certainly a stressful sewing adventure about a bride. I started with the corset and petticoat before moving on to the skirt and finally the bodice! Well not finally, that would be the veil that I started stitching 17 days before our wedding day! Video on that soon ish!

I can never get the elastic thread method to work on my machine. Luckily my machine can hsndle the 1/4" elastic
My old machine could do it no problem before the motor died 🤷♀️

Thank you! I don't do commissions, I prefer just sewing for myself and I have no idea where the pattern for this ended up. You can probably find something similar online somewhere, even if you have to modify it some. Happy sewing!

Everything looks super cute! The skirt is awesome. Maybe you might think about modifying the bloomers to have an open center crotch like they did in historical times so it will be easier to use the bathroom?
I have plans to make a historical outfit at some point starting with the proper undergarments! I just have to find the time to make it

It's e-6000 which is pretty toxic so I did this outside

I didn't keep track but I used over 2000 yards of thread in the hem

Um making my own wedding dress, and the final skirt shoqs here is EXACTLY what I was looking for! You made the final purple petticoat out of a double circle skirt right? (Edit for a typo)
It's the same pattern as the other layers but longer. Good luck with yours!
