Big thanks to you souls who have subscribed.
We're feeling grateful & blessed to receive your ongoing viewing support.
Based in Akaroa crater, Te Wai Pounamu, Aotearoa (The land of the long white cloud), New Zealand.
We've been building trusts at home with some wild birds, endemic Tuï, Korimako (Bellbird) & Kererū (Woodpigeon).
They in turn bring their mates in to drink filtered tap water OR a sweet brew for the nectar feeders.
Filmed & edited by mortals who wanted to share this close-up magic.
These amateurs also enjoy adding other audio visual vibes of Life in the extinct volcano.
Mostly shot with GoPro 7+4 black with a mavic air classic for that birds eye view.

Gota be
the Tūī really is a beautiful bird, good to see the small birds visit also. Though I am not too sure what species they are.
G'day Reg. We're spoilt with the Tui visits for sure. Silvereyes (or Waxeyes or Tauhou) are the smaller birds. They flew over from Oz in the 1850s & stayed. Probably hitched a ride on a vessel we rekon. English Sparrows are the brown ones.
@@ohaeman cool, thank you bro. Thought those Silvereyes looked familiar to the birds here in Australia, just wasn’t sure
@@ohaeman I'm not sure about the hitching a ride theory. Plenty of Aussie birds end up in NZ after unusual weather, (vagrant birds) and just every now and again they manage to arrive in enough numbers and find the right environment that they settle in. About 10 years ago a dozen pelicans were found in Northland. It looked like they were going to start breeding, but last I checked it seemed they didn't make it. Even some Australian raptors like kestrels or hawks are occasionally spotted in NZ after flying in under their own power.
@@GreenTeaViewer Fair call. We wondered why they weren't here way before the 1850s & reasoned that was wen there was way more ships crossing the ditch from then. Tiny birds to fly such a distance but maybe ur right. Pelicans,Raptors & Spoonbills we agree they could be windblown. Shining Cuckoo flies from here annually to Papua NG & Hebrides & returns here but they're 3-4 times the size of the little Tauhou (The stranger).
@@ohaeman yep it could be and I am not sure if anyone knows for sure or if it's possible to know in the case of the Tauhou. On another note I heard a rumor that someone introduced Australian black snakes to the West Coast bush in the 19thC and a few decades later they were still there!! Didn't spread far but they managed to breed a bit. That was the rumor anyway I couldn't really confirm it. How much of an idiot would you have to be to introduce snakes to NZ...
that is one big ass bird! 🦤
True bro 😎

The Tui looks so distinguished with his silver neck.
Yep. A well dressed bird for sure 🤗
Big boi
& still growing 😎
Your South Island Silvereyes seem to be so much larger than what we have up here in Whangaparaoa (unless my eyes are playing tricks on me!) Our birds are really tiny. Your birds seem to have a russet colour on their undersides whereas ours don't seem to have that. Do you get Fantails? This year is the first time we have had Fantails in 20 years, possibly because the last neighbours with the two cats have moved! Great video as always. Sue
Thats interesting Sue. Size mebbe due to the close cam proximity but the strong russet colour difference we can't explain. A colder weather thing? Like melanin. Yep the Fantails (Piwaiwaka) come & go but never stay to sip. Yayyy to them cats gone.😎 We appreciate your positive vibe. 🙏
peaceful and Beautiful view thanks for sharing. I hope the Borble Bird comes back 💙
Sweet as Missy. We still see the Borble Bird up high in the closer tall trees. Our fingers are crossed for a re entry. 😎🙏
Beautiful ambience 💗💕

@@ohaeman Thank you for sharing this delightful video with the world. I used to give dried rice (I'm Asian living in Asia) to some local birds in the village, on my porch on the second floor, and one of them was almost in the shape of a golf ball! Very cute and round. That was over five years ago, though... Keep up the wholesome work! <3
@@MagisterialVoyager Our pleasure sharing to folk such as yourself. Funny how some birds stay in our memory. Thank you for your cool & encouraging comment. 🙏
