    What an excellent way of restoring some kind of 'soul' to these weekend wastelands, and I like the thoughtful choice of pieces. At the same time I think some would find it as annoying as I find being force-fed background music on radio and TV. I look forward to investigating more of Susan's work.

    Bez is sound as a pound ace top sorted brilliant - he's not really a dancer - he said himself - he's a *mover* (I'm filling in his memory) - but I guess moving employs the skills a dancer might find useful - add maracas - then I suppose he's a *mover and a shaker* - or is that where the politics kicks in - The Ukip are monsters - want nurses to live on contaminated land when there are 250,000 sq km of uncontaminated land - Nigel wants nurses kids to eat lettuces grown in the back gardens of contaminated waste - The Ukip are London Tory land thieves

  • @katehalsey671

    Why didn't anyone mention that he's making a HUGE assumption to say that his child would've died at home. Perhaps if mom had been in a different position, the baby wouldn't have gotten stuck. Not to mention that midwives are trained to reduce (free) shoulder dystocias and to resuscitate newborns if necessary. Having a shoulder dystocia at home is not a death sentence. Of course it's not ideal, and one would never purposefully have a patient deliver at home if there was a suspicion that the baby would get stuck, but to say the baby would've died is extreme speculation. I wish they would've mentioned midwife training and that emergency situations can be appropriately handled by midwives out-of-hospital.

    • @SchillerJared
      @SchillerJared Před 9 lety

      That's true, though I think the presenter was rather setting a trap and being very irresponsible trying to make the debate about him and his experience; such a tactic really isn't appropriate in a broadcast like this and was kind of unfair on his wife too! I think it was probably a good thing they didn't engage with that...

  • @ElenaPiantino

    Well done Rebecca and Dr. Rajasingam for holding up a complex truth in the face of a clearly and understandably so, biased and passionate interviewer. All options need to exist. compassionate caregivers and most of all not falling in the pit of putting mom against baby in the process. I think what people fail to grasp is that the emotional situation can not be separated from the birth as such. It determines the hormonal environment within labour. A bad emotional situation caused by anything from fear or disrespect or anxiety or abusive interventions or lack of familiar support can cause stalling. failure to progress, dystocia, and increase the pain, depression, PTSD amongst others. Failing to take care of the emotional component of birth can absolutely take a normal to slightly complicated birth in to the realm of life and death, along with unnecessary interventions or malnutrition. When addressed, in any setting, It can help make birth more efficient and also prevent complications, correct them and even lower risks.

    She's a performance artist. As to why she is so famous I'm not sure, it's either because a large amount of elitists sheep eat up her pretentious unconventional ideas, or she is on to something greater than what most would experience. Though considering a lot of her work. I lean more towards the former.

    The purpose of performance art is to get people talking and seeing the world and life differently -- to open their minds and souls to all of the emotions that make us human and Marina certainly does that with her art. By surrendering to being vulnerable to peoples' whims -- be them playful or malicious -- she exposes the underbelly of what drives humanity -- its compassion and beauty to its raw primal darkness and violence.
