Wow. I’m so glad the CZcams algorithm led me to you. Your videos are so relaxing, watching you create such beautiful things. I know nothing about sculpting, although I very much admire the craft. But one thing I’ve noticed in a few of your videos is a little rainbow colored light that appears on some of your pieces while you’re working on them. I tried googling to find out what it might be, but all that led me to were articles on “light sculptures” 😆. I was wondering if that is a type of tool you use to help you while you are sculpting? Yay I’m happy that algorithm showed you my videos and that you find them to be relaxing! 😌 The rainbows 🌈 that appear in my videos are created from round prisms I have hanging in my windows. Certain times of the day I get lots little rainbows dancing around my studio.

I swear I saw that octopus’s eye open.
If using air dry clay do you still need to hollow out?
I wouldn’t think so. It has to hollowed with the clay I’m using since it’s fired to 2200 degrees and would explode otherwise. 😁
Does this kind of thing get fired afterwards? And if so, do you leave it in the natural clay state, unglazed?
Yes I fire it in a kiln and use an oxide to eventuate the details.

There are so many different types of clay!. I am looking for a clay that will be easy to throw on the wheel and can hold a sculpture as well. Thank you in advance!
