    Probably will still stick to my mk3, don't print that much and in terms of connectivity it's right above my server / nas anyway so running octoprint requires no additional hardware. If I do upgrade at some point, could look at running a klipper setup at some point though. Already use .6 mm nozzles, wonder how that would factor in here?

    So, while i am a tinkerer, i use my Ender 3 S1 Pro more like a tool. I am extremely interested in better multi-materal management on my printer. My question is, in your opinion is the 3D Chameleon more of a toy or a tool? My printing budget is tight and I hate to spend money on something that requires constant fiddling, when I could wait and get something that is designed to print multi-material out of the box.

    Chris, thank you for the informative video. I had set-up two C920 cameras and things were working great.. both cameras where working. Due to an issue with Raspberry Pi, I had to shutdown and disconnect the cables. When I restarted the Pi, my second camera doesn't work... when using the 192.168.58.37:8081/?action=stream command, I get Server Error. I did the sudo netstat -tnlp as you suggested in another comment and it shows that second camera on 0.0.0.0 port 8081. That config file has the http: command for 0.0.0.0. as you showed in the video. I have looked in the knowledge base but can't find an answer. Any thoughts?

    • @MikeGroseclose-ze8if
      @MikeGroseclose-ze8if Před 10 dny

      Chris, here is something more strange. From print to print, the working camera will change from camera 1 to camera 2 or vice versa.

    • @ChrisRiley
      @ChrisRiley Před 9 dny

      It sounds like it's confused on what stream to use. It should know which camera serial needs to be used for which camera. Unplug the cams, power down and bring it back up without them plugged in. See if you can get them to recognize the cameras again in the right order.

    Anyone else struggling to get the MCU to flash. I have a small 2GB FAT formatted SD card, have built according to instructions but it just seems to ignore it altogether, the version is definitely different (factory v0.10.0-530-g3387a9c2-dirty-20220807_204823-mkspi on it, rpi updated fine to v0.12.0-192-gb7f7b8a3)

    • @ChrisRiley
      @ChrisRiley Před 9 dny

      Some times the board gets confused and won't flash. To try and get back to where it will flash sometime I flash to a version of Marlin or something else, then try Klipper again.

  • @PaganWizard
    @PaganWizard Před 11 dny

    You mentioned an issue with the Debian 10 distro, has that been fixed?? I am very new (just a few days so far, still trying to figure out how everything works) to Linux, using LMDE 6 cinnamon, after DECADES of Windows, and have also NEVER compiled any firmware of any type. I just rebuilt my Ender 5 Plus to the point of, the only thing left that is still Creality, is the cube. I also built a triple Z axis following CZcamsr "LilMikey's Big Plans" design. I have a BTT SKR Pro v1.2, and a BTT Pad 7. I've also seen videos showing the use of an old Android phone or tablet, to run Octo, not sure if that's even needed with the Pad 7. Compliments of a brain injury a few years ago, my hands, concentration levels, and just basic trust in myself when it comes to doing stuff like this, are all getting in the way. All the hardware is done, now it's just the firmware, and I just need to be 120% sure that I'm doing things right. The last thing I want to do is brick my board. What's even worse than that, is looking at my printer, and being unable to use it.

    • @ChrisRiley
      @ChrisRiley Před 9 dny

      The pad 7 should take care of everything you need to run the machine. Including the distro issues. So if it is up and running fine, it includes Klipper. Go with what BTT provides for install files and you will be good.

    This may be a bit off-topic, but it seems like something you would know about. I'm a total newbie to the cnc world but I managed to build a CNC table to move my plasma cutting torch (see link for video of it in operation). The problem with plasma cutting and computers that send the file to the control board is that they are subject to interfereance from the plasma arc - so much so that if you don't have sheilded wires and a computer MB inside a metal case away from the plasma machine and use a parallel pot rather than a USB connection, your g-code can (and often does) stop mid-job. However, if I send the g-code file from the SD card on the control board (MKS DLC32 V2.1) by using MSK Laser app there is no computer involved, and so it runs without stopping. This is great, but the trouble with the offline controller (MKS Laser) that I use wirelessly to launch the g-code off the card lacks a Z-axis control. My control board (MKS DLC32 V2.1) seems like a nice card and I love the offline capability, but no Z-axis control (probably because lasers don't need them?) sucks. Sometimes I wan't to adjust the Z-axis a little before starting the job and to do that I need to conect my laptop to Open Builds Control first and then switch over (a pain in the arse). Any advice on how to reedy this situation? Are there any other apps I can use with my card beside the MKS Laser app? Thanks! Subscribed. czcams.com/video/97f_Xnl6_V8/video.htmlsi=6sDtdeg53bGgq2Rt

    • @ChrisRiley
      @ChrisRiley Před 9 dny

      Awesome setup! I don't know what app they use. I would guess there is something you could use. How do you control it while offline, with a screen of some sort?

    • @Hollywood4Fun
      @Hollywood4Fun Před 9 dny

      @@ChrisRiley I use the MKSLaser app on my phone to launch the cut from the internal card file. But maybe this isn't really "offline" since there is the connection to my phone via wifi during the cut (still more reliable than the laptop connection). And I have experienced the machine going wonky when I approached the table with my phone in hand to observe the cutting process. This usually results in me quickly finding the cord to unplug everything. LOL Since the table is just resting above the work if it takes off in some direction it can get moved around - both good and bad I suppose. So far nothing major happened before I got to the plug. I'm going to buy some faraday fabrick and make a sleve for the plasma lead. I'm also waiting for the delivery of some sheilded twisted pair wire. I'm then going to see if Grbl Controller app can connect to the board since it has z-axis control. Just have to wait for the OTG to C-type adapter to arrive. Peace.

    Hey Man I really cant seem to get a grasp on this stuff. Is there any way I could get you to give me a firmware version that i could use for my ender 3 v3 se that enables host action commands?

      I would go to examples and start with that one, then you can just enable host action commands, but I don't see that printer in there yet.

    Hey Chris awesome video! I am looking at the 3.5 upgrade but would also love to get the new X-y motors on the 4 once Prusa starts to sell them as parts. Have you heard about anything that would stop compatibility with the 3.5 firmware?

      Thanks! I haven't heard anything, but they should work on all the firmwares. I will look into it further.

    I noticed that they made some changes on the resonance compensation page. #2 is different for example

    I found an old fire tablet I want to run klipper screen on. I had the idea of connecting it to my printer and I'm hoping this guide helps get it working for me. Knowing I can connect other printers to it also has me thinking about what other things can be controlled like this. Halloween animatronics anyone?!?!
