Hi thanks for the tutorials it is helping a lot to understand Houdini. How do you use an animated texture but in Redshift Shader? I am trying to build an ocean, I have a sequence of EXR textures and I am getting an error of "time dependent texture" in RS Texture node, thanks!

Hello, nice and helpful tutorial. Smal Update, since Houdini 19 there is a button on the right column of the 3D view on the lower end with small diagonal squares in decent blue and red, that you can toggle on and off. When you hover over it, it says: Show UV texture when UVs present. So, you´re not necessarily need the Laps Visualize tool. As always, there are many ways to get things done in Houdini.
Aperture can sometimes be measured as a Diameter which allows light to go into the camera to hit the Sensor or Film Back.
Doesn't seem to work on windows thou. Any workaround? Thanks a lot

Very helpful video, but Side FX drives me crazy with this. This trick is still not practical at all. The workflow with trackpad is miles behind from what Blender or Cinema 4D can offer on a Mac. So it proves that it is very possible to work very efficiently with a trackpad... I suspect this is due to the fact that people using Houdini on a Mac is a very small niche, so guys at SideFX don't even bother.. Sad situation.

yeah, that first part really hit home. I also feel my eyes glaze when it comes to left brain stuff. Glad to see someone explain this so well. I quite like Houdini, but it sure is a lot to chew over.

Houdini tools are great, but why not use Substance Automatic UV Unwrapping tool? For most case its good enough.🤔

3 years late, but thanks a lot for the tutorial. I actually got to this video cuz I was searching exporting camera tracked footage from blender to houdini and the entire Workflow... So please please make such a tutorial, maybe including how project textures (so the grid has the road texture as an example) and how to add shadow catcher in houdini.... Please consider that... As I really couldn't find a single tutorial on CZcams that covers this. Thanks a lot

UDIM finally just work in the latest version of Octane for Blender, no need for this workaround now.
