You can not let a paying customer walk away, because they will find the lab grown diamond elsewhere. You can insure a lab grown diamond and have that policy set to the cost stated on your receipt, but the insurance company will evaluate the value of the diamond on the day of your insurance claim. Example: Four years ago you paid $15,000 for your LGD ring and brought an insurance policy and kept paying the premium, until you lost the ring this year. You file a claim. The insurance company checks the cost to replace it today and sends you a check, for $830. At best, you get your jeweler to itemize the cost of the lost ring’s mount, design, moldings, and materials at $2,500. You submit this information to the insurance company and they might send you a total of $2,500. Your out of pocket loss was $12,500. Those Four years ago, you were told that a LGD was worth 60% of the cost of a natural diamond. The ND would have cost you $28,000 and the insurance company would have paid your claim at $28,000. That’s the way it works and that’s why any LGD costing over a couple of thousand dollars should be avoided. Today, a LGD under 3 ct costs $250 - $300/ct and larger ones costs $800 - $900/ct. In five years , you’ll be able to buy a ten pound sack of LGD as landscaping material.

Always buy an engraved stone. Always look at three stones at your diamond showing. If you’re buying from a display case, never, never let the item out of your site. Display jewelry isn’t “custom made “ , instead many pieces of the same design are sold and the jeweler always displays his finest example. Don’t let him/her swap it in the back of the store, where the similar items are stored.

What happens if you go with a 7. 64 ct, 13.77 X 9.14 X 5.96 = 1.50 ratio on an emerald cut diamond D color, VVS2, excellent cut...13.77÷9.14= 1.50 ratio... will there be any effect on the diamond by 5pt over... I know you stated to stay at a 1.45 ratio
