There's a reason Queen of the Damned didn't make sense; it was a mishmash of two of Anne Rice's books and it really screws them up. Even the Queen is all wrong even though the actress did a good job with what she had to work with (RIP). But the script was stupid garbage and the film is better off forgotten. Read the books! They are far more illuminating, and there are 12 of them.

The Queen of the Damned book was excellent. The movie was really bad (no offense to Aliyah; the script was terrible).

The Anne Rice vampire series allude to sexuality, but she didn't write about the vampires actually engaging in the act of sex itself. She is quite capable of "going there", as she did in her Sleeping Beauty erotica writings, but she wrote those under a different name (if I'm remembering correctly...it's been more than 30-years since I've read her writing).

One of my favorite Hugh Jackman movies. It really blew my mind to learn that Robbie Coltrane (AKA Harry Potter's Rubeus Hagrid) did the voice and facial motion capture modeling for Mr. Hyde. I love the brides, the lore of Count Dracula, Van Helsing's werewolf form and the look of Frankenstein's Monster

This is why you should have watched the movies in release order so all the surprise twists and reveals are not ruined

Oysters and lemon mignonette - Common flavors put together that have to be broken down and deconstructed, foreshadowing what happens to the guests. This is meant to be taken as Chef throwing down the gauntlet. Amuse Bouche - More foreshadowing. Charred lace - crater. Milk snow - ash from the fire. Cucumber and melon - the guests. The Island - Scallop on a rock - Chef presenting himself to the guests. Plants - "in the weeds" Breadless bread plate - straight up snarking at picky customers. But you can also make a case for Lilian's plate having a broken emulsion on purpose as his way of saying SHE'S as useless as a broken emulsion. Memory - Self explanatory The Mess - Pressurized vegetables - literal pun. Bone marrow - blood. Beef jus - sweat. Potato confit - tears. Man's Folly - Plum vinegar exists because of Umeboshi, whey plays a vital part in making yogurt, sea kelp and lettuce are what keeps the oceans biome from wreaking havoc. But everyone either doesn't know that or forgets, because they don't taste good, aren't as attractive, or can be very difficult to work with in their natural form. It's the same with women, especially when they try to speak out against unfair treatment like what the chef describes. They get called things like "bottom feeders", like crabs. Final scene with Margot/Erin eating the cheeseburger - She didn't care about giving him peace of mind. She just wanted to survive. And Chef acknowledged that. Using his menu as a napkin - She never believed anything he said for one second. She is, in fact, a taker that knows her worth. And that's why she lived.

You should watch a movie called At Close Range, with Sean Penn and Christopher Walken. Also so watch some Spike Lee movies, Do The Right Thing, Crooklyn, Jungle Fever, Clockers, He Got Game and She Hate Me., His first movie he wrote and directed was good too, She's Gotta Have It

Anne Rice wrote this screenplay, I think she did a great job, they all did. Excellent Film.

I still like the Townsend/Aliyah version. No fault of the cast or crew.

They try and remake all kinds of things these days. I'd like them try and make Queen of the Damned proper. After that they can do Servant of the Bones. It's all about Genies.

I saw this when it first came out in 1979 (I was 22). Back then there weren't nearly as many movies playing at the same time. The trailer played on TV with the catch phrase "In space no one can hear you scream". It looked so scary and I knew I had to see it. I went to see it with my boyfriend at the time. I was scared as soon as the movie started. My boyfriend must have had a sore arm the next day from me grabbing it. Alien is my favorite movie and I've lost count of how many times I've seen it.

Again the First Film IS chapter 4 "A New Hope not the Phantom Menace".Chapter 4 came out in 1977mThe Pahntom Menace" came out in the 1990s. Plus "Rogue One" is not part of the Skywaqlker Saga t=]you need to stop referencing it for this.

I'm glad to this day everyone that watched many werewolf movies throughout the years still think the werewolf design in van helsing is the best. After more than a decade and a half since this movie came out, i have yet to see a werewolf movie with a design as good as, if not better than the werewolves in this movie.

since you seem interested in vampire movies you should react to night teeth starring debby ryan, lucy fry, megan fox and sydney sweeney but keep in mind megan and sydney are only cameos/minor roles, don’t get baited by the trailers thinking they have a major part 😭 also abigail the new ballerina vampire film and unrelated but totally killer on amazon prime is so good too.

My 2 favorite Vampire Brides in Van Helsing are as follows: Aleera and Marishka! If I want to be turned into a vampire in Van Helsing universe, I would want Aleera and Marishka; but I would give the privilege of 1st bite to Aleera!

My favorite Werewolf is Gabriel Van Helsing's! In Fact I like Hugh Jackman's Werewolf form so much I think that if someone created a mod for Elder Scrolls Skyrim, I love to play as Hugh Jackman's Werewolf form just change a few things to make an invincible Werewolf form (Pure Blooded Werewolf)

Wow!! Star Wars DOES REALLY UNITE people!!!

I grew up with the movie and the books, so it's actually nice to hear from people who saw the show first. I can't believe they changed Lestat's iconic baby trapping! 😂 And he did love Claudia. That's probably my biggest issue with how he's written on the show, even though Sam Reid has done a great job with what he's given. Lestat's a tool, but he loves his family and would certainly never beat Louis. Like you said, he's bratty. He's too emotional and impulsive to be a master manipulator. This is one of my favourite movies. Just impeccable acting and direction, and the script is beautiful and very close to the novel.

This film looks like a comedy, is it weird i dont find it scary?

This is actually quite accurate to the book except for a a few scenes cut for time and it being a lot less obviously gay. Louis and Lestat did have. A bit of a "sexless marriage" in the book though and it feels more like he was reluctantly in an arranged marriage with Lestat, and then realized he loved him after they killed him. The second book gets into Lestats backstory and his history with Armand. Season two of the show looks like it will include a bit of that.

Ahhh..now I gotta go back and re-read this book. Anne Rice was pissed when Tom Cruise was cast...but then took it back after she saw his portrayal. Great reaction and analysis.
