The bike was my fathers and he is vertically challenged so he had to lower it and put the seat concepts lower seat. I normally ride dirt bikes faster on rougher stuff but the XR was a little soft for my fat butt to ride it harder than I was in the video. The stock tires also weren’t too shabby off road but they left a lot to be desired on harder packed dirt.

    • @Anything_With_An_Engine
      @Anything_With_An_Engine Před 3 lety

      Depends, everyones idea of enough power is very different. Some people are fine with 25hp, others can not even have anything less than 100hp. This bike is about 55hp give or take a few and about 50 torque. I can easily cruise at freeway speeds of 80mph+ all day and it still has enough in it to pass people with ease. I have ridden a few similar sized cruisers and this one is the quickest I've ridden yet which is why I got it. An 883 sportster for example is similar power but weighs about 100 pounds more. So when I rode the two back to back the guzzi both handles better and feels faster not to mention the guzzi can hold about 3 more gallons of gas! In my opinion it has enough power for sure. But if you are able to get the newer bike with more power then why not? Or get the older one and just upgrade to the 850cc kit later down the road. For me all I am doing is the pipes and a tune as the bike has plenty of power to feel exciting and I have ridden 150hp bikes....

    • @Anything_With_An_Engine
      @Anything_With_An_Engine Před 3 lety

      It takes lots of practice and trust in the lead pilot. Many hours of studying your own performance and help from other good pilots gets you to be a good pilot in formation as well as understanding what your doing to control the aircraft to ensure you do not crash yourself or crash into the rest of the formation. As for the gear speed thing, no you should not lower it above 250. That is not a appropriate habit to have but lowering it 10-20 knots above your limits certainly wont kill it the 250 number is likely placed well below the actual structural limits of extending the gear at those speeds to prevent both excessive wear and damage in real life and besides this is a simulator.... Hope this answers your questions?

Now we are working on our original maneuvers, and do you guys share the parameters of each maneuver of Blues with the 6 pilots? And if so, could you teach me about the loops you guys do, what I want to know about the loop is, do you always use afterburners during a loop?(I guess it’s not when you guys initiate the loop at like 380 to 400kt) And the same question for the board, the board isn’t always necessary on the later half(falling part) of the loop, right? @@carrierlandinghdlegacyhorn2686 So I no longer fly with the group of individuals that performed, but we followed everything as closely as possible to the real Blue Angels and the parameters they used for each maneuver, from speed, G Forces, and altitudes. Typically every complete looping maneuver would use air brakes on the down line of the maneuver. As for use of after burner it was never used except for the "Burner 270" and the take off portion or "squirrel cage on take off". They used Burner for take off and going up into the vertical and before going inverted they would come out of burner then rolling 180 degrees and into the down line into the full loop portion of the take off maneuver. Hope that info helps. EDIT: To avoid confusion I wanted to note that certain looping maneuvers did not use airbrakes, such as the barrel roll break and certain vertical breaks. Try to study Blue Angel videos and each maneuvers you will see what they do for each one.

      @@Anything_With_An_Engine thanks, that is very helpful, we are gonna use the air brakes for every loop on the down line.
