This is actually the only part of the show i've seen but i don't think it deserves all the hate it's getting, i mean, the animation style is great and different and i love the sound design. it kinda lost me a bit with all the propaganda stuff and consumerism agenda but otherwise i feel like audiovisual product is great and it was made with effort and love!

Haven't seen the show beyond these clips but my big complaint about the animation is that they keep using still shots in the old animation style. The new style is pretty solid, but it's jarring to see a picture of a character done in the original style. Took me a second to even recognize Dale in that picture of him in the swimming pool.
Well consumerism and various lightweight (and sometimes overhanded messaging, Captain Planet I'm looking at you) has always been a part of kids shows, and frankly they need to learn about it some where. Yes greedy people will lie to you to take your money, that's not even deep its just true. So messaging doesn't bother me and they at least give Dale enough character to not make him evil, he's just greedy. So the messaging isn't too heavy handed
Luckily enough the show was already dead so it's not a complete loss.
Cosmo and Wandas voices suck. Jeez the voices are so shot out.

I mean I feel like that's sadly the case for most trust fund babies with or without a traumatic childhood. I'd say Doug is rolling in his grave right and I can't really blame him for anything, I mean if I were in his position I'd wonder where I went wrong with Dale also. Maybe he didn't pay enough attention to him which is why the cycle continues with Dale doing that to his son. I still feel like going through something rough like that and not having a soft childhood would build character, widen perspective, and give rich kids a sense of respect for the working class and empathy for the poor.
Stop hating the show came a long way this really look like a 2-3D movie & im rocking with it

Dale being awful makes more sense them him being a good person tbh. Doug wasn't that great and normally was money driven. So, most of his good deeds were profitable for him. His son went missing for 7 years! That man had more than enough money to find Dale in one month. Dale is a nepobaby. They aren't always horrible people but more are than aren't. And lastly he was imprisoned by Vicki for seven years. That boy has been through it!
When ya been treated like crap for all those years and then one day a taste of freedom and success comes in your lap, you desperately take it.

There’s something kind of interesting that, despite not being the best father, he’s still by his own standards being a better father to his son than his own father was to him, considering that he’s not working in a basement and is buying his son everything he wants. Part of the reason he doesn’t understand his son’s desire for connections is likely because he never got any himself
It’s this kinda accurate reflection on real life: sometimes the cycle of abuse doesn’t fully turn but doesn’t get broken entirely. Dale knows he absolutely doesn’t want to be the Father Doug was. But being a good parent isn’t really something you can just learn by avoiding what you saw in a bad one. Dale got a bunch of checkboxes for what not to do; so he doesn’t have his kid in a basement for years, and says “great, even though this parenting thing is kinda rough, I’ve never been Doug. Kids got it pretty good. Good job me!” And leaves it at that.
@@kagato23 yeah I agree with that. His standards for good parenting are already so low that anything that’s not what he went through seems like a huge improvement.

ppl in the comments gotta remember that vicky isnt soley the responsible one for the way dale turned out, she was a big part of it (7 years, under a lemonade stand, with no sunlight is crazy) but doug didnt go looking for him at all, and he himself isnt much better the dude sold cow milk that mind controlled people just to just in one of his fancy houses he sold and he (admitibly unknowingly) almost cooked everyone in dimmsdale while they were chickens with this type of excitment i cant describe, dale definatly got it from more then one place lmao

Actually surprisingly good storywise... animation on the other hand... not my cup of tea.
I like the new main character because she's not Timmy and because she has a soul... She probably isn't going to wish horrible things upon her friends for her own selfish desires.
@@Blandopinionshe is a lot nicer than him. It’s pleasant that children will get some semi-decent messaging mixed in with their whimsical fantasy. Plus since the show actually seems enjoyable it won’t be weaponized by culture war weirdos because they dared have a black main character. It hits every positive note I can think of. 10/10
