The Origin of Nations and Peoples in the Philippines: A Missionary's Account
In this video, we delve into the fascinating history of the Philippines through the eyes of a Spanish missionary who spent some years in the country during the colonial period. It features a primary source from Chapter 4 of Francisco Colin's Labor evangélica (Madrid, 1663), a Spanish Jesuit who lived in the Philippines during the 16th century. In this account, Colin provides his perspective on the origin of nations and peoples in the Philippines.

Thanks for the efforts creating the video, but I suggest that you revise/edit your video; otherwise this will further propagate confusion about pre-colonial Philippines. Grabe, simpleng migration pattern mali agad. Magbasa ka naman ng mas reliable historical sources. There are lots of published/peer-reviewed articles (e.g. archaeology, genetics and linguistics) associated with the Austronesian migration/out-of-Taiwan theory and the population of the Pacific.

India itself was harmed by the muslim inveders and Christian missionaries , colonizers..... Even today there is mental colonisation in India. Indians are continuously accepting the western lifestyle, fashion. It's doing destruction of India. Indians don't even know how much advanced India was. 😢 .... How can we even do the revival !!!

This is crazy because like most of other religions there is the theme of after life, judgement of soul, heaven and hell. Why did we need Spanish civilization to basically come and spread their belief when we already had a similar belief story. Shit is just crazy. Everything basically roots to the same origin story.

In the Laguna Copperplate Inscription, Clearly mention Medang/Mdang......It is Kingdom located in Central Java. Kawi Script use in Sumatra, Bali, and most of them are in Java. If you searching at google inscription with Keyword: 'Early Javanese Inscription" . You will found tons of them. FYI 16.000 manuscript written in Kawi stored in the Dutch Leiden museum, and about 10.000 still in Indonesian Museum. Plus : PAMGAT/PAMEGAT is a Job Title same as A JUDGE (in present Day). Come from word : PEGAT mean Decide, and get prefix PA mean someone/somebody, So PAMEGAT literaly mean Someone who decide a case, the Decider or also known in present day as A Judge. You can only found this Job title(PAMEGAT) in Medang Kingdom located in Central Java (Indonesia)

While Tongans etc.. are mixed already 😂 After Taiwan, Austronesian Culture came to the Philippines first before reaching Polynesia 🤪

There is no theory or evidence of Polynesians settling in the Philippines, the Polynesians spread out into the Pacific interior not into Asia. The pottery that were found in Polynesia were Lapita origin, who are said to be ancient maritime people of southeast asia.

The diverse distinctions present within this historical account unequivocally demonstrate that the Philippines was not a part of a single kingdom, as some have claimed and believed in times long past. Without a doubt, the variations in culture and spoken languages we witness today can find their explanations in this account. As is evident, the diverse regions across the archipelago exhibit unique forms of ethnicity that distinguish them. Each region possesses its own distinct systems, setting them apart from other ethnic groups. If the notion were true that the Philippines were under a single kingdom's dominion, then why does this remarkable diversity persist? Why didn't a uniform governing system span all regions, and why do these regions harbor distinct cultures and identities separate from one another? As the historical account suggests, each ethnic group originated from a distinct source that settled on the islands. Therefore, if a single kingdom did exist, where does it fit within the tapestry of human history? Clearly, it fails to account for the unique diversity that abounds.

The biggest asset of the Philippines is the knowledge of the English language. The difficult job of the Thomasites to convert the official Spanish language into English is very commendable. It's also amazing that ancient languages from the many regions have survived but slowly fading away. English and Tagalog and the hybrid TagLish seem to be dominating and spreading fast. Nate, your video is excellent! Thank You.

Indianized kingdom just a theory from George coedes. Cedes death before he read kaladi inscription in Java 906 ce. Kaladi Inscription: People of ariyan dravidian pandhya kling shinghala, Khmer Mon Cham, and hunjeman (Arab Persian Rom merchants) are foreigners. They must pay foreigners tax as workers or traders. They aren't allowed to live in city or village, just in a port. Indianize use sanskrit for hinduism and budhism just like arab use Arabic for Islams and western use english for christianity. Base kaladi inscription 906 ce. There are rules system like country, immigration, custome, etc. In Southeast asia (especially in Java) Same as rules system in modern era. 😎
