    Hello sir, great video, really interesting. I wonder if I might ask a question to see if you might be able to offer any advice. I recently purchased a second hand Ninja Inferno 7” and the monitor appears to have the same issue you discuss in the video. I am currently using quite an old Sony camera (HVR Z5E) with an HDMI output. It can output 1080 25p externally and this is recognised by the Ninja Inferno. I am using an Atomos Pro Video HDMI cable, but I am still getting small drop outs. The drop outs occur either during recording or when I am just monitoring. I have played around with the HDMI input settings but the problem persists. Any ideas? Also, The SSD which I got with the Inferno is a Samsung 850 Pro. When I record, it captures the video, but creates a new file, when the cut out occurs. it is also displaying the SKIPPY sign (which I have now researched) and I have been reading about compatible SSDs. Any idea if this SSD is good enough for the Ninja Inferno and any recommendations for a better SSD. Thanks in advance.

    Here’s a tip: don’t use the back of your axe to pound your stakes into the ground. The back of your axe is not hardened to do that, which will damage/break the axe. Only do if it’s hardened; otherwise, use a mallet or hammer. Something I learned over the years.

    Kondor Blue is junk made in China but the very best is the ZILR I’ve been using for a very long time it is pricy but it does the job ! Kondor Blue thinks they are the top of the line they are only pricy for real junk I’ve placed last year my first order talking to Jeffrey thinking it is made in the USA and I’ve told him that it it turned to be junk from China so I stopped placing orders with them . But I highly recommend the ZILR CABLE

      Thank you for the added recommendation! Yes, the ZILR stuff has way tighter tolerances, even in the HDMI port - very impressed by their quality. I'm just glad it works as advertised, which seems to be harder to find in products these days.

    You are limited to 4K with the micro hd cable. There is only an hdmi to hdmi 2.1 version but then you have to get an adapter, and will the adapter ruin the link?

    • @DiscoverwithDan
      @DiscoverwithDan Před 4 měsíci

      My A1 has a full sized HDMI port. In my experience, any adaptor I've used (I've tried an L-shaped adapter to help relieve the strain), was a point of failure. I do not recommend adaptors (unless it's very specifically stated to work as an HDMI 2.1 or something) since they're usually bunk compared to a nice cable.

    Imagine my excitement when I found this video. Eureka! I have been having this input drop out issue since I purchased the Ninja V. I am trying to use it with my Sony HVR-V1U camcorder. I know it can be done becasue I've seen CZcams videos posted with the Ninja V and V1U setup. So, I ordered the cable you recommended. In fact, I was so excited I ordered two! I'm sure you can imagine my disappointment when the dropouts were just as bad with the new cables. I have over $1,000 into the Ninja along with 12 different sets of cables - all of which are no better than another regardless of whether they cost $5 or $35. I have a setup that won't do anything that I need. It wight as well be a boat anchor. Any thoughts?

    • @DiscoverwithDan
      @DiscoverwithDan Před 6 měsíci

      Oh no! That really sucks, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm not 100% sure how it works with the V since I have the V+. And since the V+ can do 8K, I don't know if they changed the HDMI spec from the V to handle a larger bandwidth. My suggestion might be to actually be to upgrade the Ninja? Any firmware updates that were missed? Are you sure the youtube example with the Sony cam was using the same codec/bitrate as you? Just some ideas off the top of my head. I know that Sony can just be really picky with recording media + bitrate combinations. Even my A1 won't record 4K120p unless I have the correct SD/CFexpress card inside it.

    • @jeffbone7100
      @jeffbone7100 Před 6 měsíci

      Thanks, Dan, for the response. I have the latest firmware update. I have also tried several other recommended cables with the same result, including the very expensive Blue Condor Gerald Undone Mk2 cable. That cable was worse than most of the other ones I purchased! I have tried every recording setting on the Ninja V with every cable and with or without the SSD card installed. The drop out issues are the same. Early this morning I reached out to the person who posted the video of their kids using the HVR-V1U and the Ninja V. I asked what HDMI he's using and what settings he has on both units. Hopefully, he has some advice. Defective unit?@@DiscoverwithDan

    • @DiscoverwithDan
      @DiscoverwithDan Před 6 měsíci

      Thanks for the update. It could very well be defective or the information not accurate about it's compatibility with the Ninja V. I also have that blue Kondor Blue cable and thought the build quality was subpar. The Cable ends don't sit very well with the ports - mine were a little loose. I hope the compatibility issue gets figured out for you!@@jeffbone7100

    Great review, thanks for sharing this. I'm just starting to look into this model because the price is incredible compared to similar designs by Hilleberg. One question, do the instructions tell you that you have to unclip the inner tent when packing it up, or can you leave it attached? The best feature about these suspended inner tent designs is that you can leave the outer fly attached and pitch it as one which keeps the inside dry in bad weather. It would also save you considerable time during setup and takedown if you leave the inner attached, and it should also help with the initial tension when pitching.

    • @DiscoverwithDan
      @DiscoverwithDan Před 7 měsíci

      Hello and thanks for the question! I do think the value for what you get is incredible, the only lacking element being the tent stakes. But that's easily upgradeable. In warmer weather, it does lack a bit of airflow but if you're camping in colder climates, that might not be a bad thing. I wouldn't leave the inner tent attached because it would be pretty hard to fold up. The way the outer structure is made, it's with a high tension rod, so i imagine that would make it difficult. Certainly worth a try though since the benefits of it working sounds awesome. I hate dealing with a wet mold tent.
