White Sands National Park | New Mexico's Little Known Gem
After our backpacking adventure in the Gila National Forest, we decided to make a quick stop at the White Sands National Park. The time we spent there felt like we were visiting another world. We highly recommend making this a quick stop if you're near southern New Mexico.

Gila Cliff Dwellings | Gila National Forest New Mexico
zhlédnutí 81Před rokem
In this video we explore the Gila Cliff Dwellings and how the Mogollon people lived so many years ago. It's a self guided 1 mile loop trail that is free to the public to access. The monument has so many interesting rooms and the views looking out from the dwellings is just spectacular. We definitely understand why they chose this spot to build a home. Camping In Gila National Forest | Lower Scorpion Campground
zhlédnutí 379Před rokem
After a 17 hour drive we arrive at the Lower Scorpion campground in the Gila National Forest of New Mexico. Our plan is to get familiar with the area, visit the Gila Cliff Dwellings, and camp tonight before heading out on a 3 day/2 night backpacking trip within the Gila National Forest. This is our first time visiting the Gila area, and we are both amazed by the stunning landscape! It's such a ...
First Time Backpacking Overnight With My Dog
zhlédnutí 1,7KPřed rokem
In this adventure I (Jonathan) go on my first solo backpacking overnighter. But I'm accompanied by my good buddy Loki, a 5 month old Catahoula Leopard Dog. So is it really a solo backpacking trip, I dunno?? Let me know in the comments below what you think :) I wanted to see what it was like backpacking with a dog... how he acts around camp, sleeping in a tent, whether or not he stays with me an...

The Goat Trail on Big Bluff is literally a goat trail.
Great video! Looks like y'all know how to eat on a float trip. Loved the "floating corn". LOL
This was cool, thank for posting. We love the Gila area
Did you guys die or why no new videos
Great video, this is definitely on our bucket list. What time of year was it?
Nice video😊
Mogollon = “muggy own” pronunciation wise, Leftover from the 2011 Miller Fire, probably saw Javelina
Awww darn. Loved your video, low key, brothers, etc… until it’s unfortunate that you feel (felt) it’s ok to use a drone in the Wilderness area. They are one of the few places where there is absolute peace from human machines. AND it can disturb wildlife, and other hikers. I feel that is unethical and irresponsible. I cannot subscribe at this point. You say u do it for viewers, but ur viewers would hopefully not WANT u to do that.
What time of May was this?
This takes me back fifty years. My brother and his buddy were in one heavily loaded canoe, they were planning on a multi-day camping float trip. Me and my buddy were just doing a day float so we were lightly loaded. We came to one of those one to two foot drops and their canoe was just riding too low in the water and it turned into a submarine. All their gear went floating and it was cold! We fished their stuff out for them and they camped on the bank and built a fire and had a generally miserable night. I thought it was hilarious because I was dry and warm and...you know, brothers! We now have a brand new cabin about five miles from Hasty. Still love it up there.
Thanks for your memories of an amazing trip down the Buffalo River! That’s the current I want if I ever get to ride the Buffalo River Easy yet some fast current! Y’all have some great memories to share with your friends and family!
There wouldn't be any pastures if there wasn't fire the fires. The elk and dear love it.
Those packs look pretty dang heavy.. the black hills are amazing and scared lands of lakota. Black elk peak is amazing. But little devils tower and cathedral spires are better in my opinion. Great content hope you make it back!
I met someone in the Linville Gorge who got blown off a cliff and fell something like 250 feet into the canyon. He shattered his pelvis and broke a ton of bones. He had to get airlifted out by a blackhawk helicopter because standard medical helicopters can’t withstand the updrafts from the deep canyon. Because it was the US Military that rescued him, and he is an American citizen, the helicopter ride was free! The ambulance ride from Morganton to Duke University Hospital was $1M, though.
Wow! That’s crazy. Hopefully he was ok.
Nice video. I've hiked most of that, and more of other stuff there. It's a magical place. Quick note, since I didn't see anyone else mention it: I'm fairly certain that your drone (which provided some awesome shots of your hike) is illegal to use inside the wilderness area (part of the no machinery thing). I think that the National Parks also have a no drone rule, but I'm less certain of that. The area around the cliff dwellings is managed by the NPS. Just something to look into before you go back, or to another wilderness area. It wouldn't be fun to get cited, fined, etc.
Appreciate the feedback. You're right about the drone regulations. We take risks for our subscribers. 😜
We had put the Buffalo off until next year, sadly. Awesome vid showing what we can expect if the water is high! Cheers
Good stuff, Ive got several videos of my hikes there!! Love that place
what breed is your dog
😂
Step 2 waiting for you! Steve Wallis would approve. That giggle is classic.
😆🤪
Good stuff fellas 👍🏻 Spent many days and nights of my youth up in that country.
Thank you! We can absolutely understand why. It’s a beautiful area.
Great video. I've got a group of friends interested in a trip like this. Did you guys use a shuttle service?
Hey Chris, we drove there because our bro in law had the kayaks and canoe for us to enjoy. Shuttle services are definitely available from a few canoe rental companies just up the way from where we headed out.
That was a black bear print 😁
Oh! yeah had no idea. Better to know that now I guess.
Nice video. Some frinds and I do a three day trip on the upper buffalo every spring. Its an amazing river.
Thank you! Yes, it offers much more than you'd imagine. We'll be going back again!
Enjoyed this you two, subscribed accordingly. Good luck both....
That is an excellent mini hiking/travel log with Loki . Glad you had a great time!
Looks like you guys had a wonderful time out there! The camp looks super cozy. I am going to have my first overnighter with my dog soon, so your video gave me even more motivation. Nice one. Looking forward to your future adventures ;) Best wishes, Mario
Thanks Mario! I had a great time out there with Loki, hopefully he felt the same way. Best of luck on your first overnighter, going anywhere special?
Absolutely gorgeous upload bud, shots and serene atmosphere here are spectacular! 🔥🔥
Thank you Ervin! Just checked out your Kravice Waterfalls video, amazing videography. Subbed to ya using my personal account and will definitely be watching more of your content.
Well done, nice editing. I live in the Black Hills and it was fun watching you hike areas I've hiked on day hikes. Did you begin at Big Pine, if not which TH? Your backpacks were definitely too heavy. There are vids to help you see how you can lighten the load. Sorry you missed Black Elk Peak, but it was a wise choice due to the weather. Come back and do the whole Lost Cabin loop, 14.7 miles, for an overnighter some time.
Amazing -- almost one of those "hard to watch" JOurneYs -- I have never seen this location featured in any travel/outdoor adventure CZcams vids before -- thanks brothers for taking us along.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow! Some great hidden surprises, thank you for taking us on the journey along with you
Glad you enjoyed it! It really had some beautiful landscapes.
are we aloud to camp near elk peak on off the trail?
Yes, you just can't have a campfire.
Also, you'll need to be a 1/4 mile from Black Elk Peak/Harney Peak to setup a campsite.
Your content is very well thought out -- Kudos to your 2-Man Team -- the captures and editing are high quality -- I have a Photog Degree (Bio-medical) and Host a single site campground in the NC Smokys -- Loved this vlog -- I am thrilled that I am the 3rd subscriber -- I am sure that (it will take a long time to build) someday in the future, I will log on to see you with 300,000 subscribers.
Much appreciated! We enjoy making these videos and would love nothing more than to reach more nature lovers.
Gentlemen, I met you yesterday hiking to HIH falls. Look forward to watching this video as well as your work and adventure in the Buffalo River Wilderness. Good luck!
Thanks Bart! It was a pleasure meeting you and we appreciate the follow. We can't wait to get this next video up!
This trail is incredible. The terrain is amazing and the views especially from Black Elk Peak area. We did a 25 mile loop starting at Sylvan Lake, to little Devil's Tower, Norbeck to Centennial and then up to Black Elk Peak and return to Sylvan Lake. How was the horse crap on trail? It was in full effect while we were there. Now following!
Thanks for the follow! The views were so great we probably stepped in some and didn't even know it. ;)
@@warrenbrothersadventures it was everywhere! Loved the rock formations out there. Have you been to the badlands as well?
@@MetroOnTheMove Yep, short visit, but really amazing!
