Otto Cycle Analysis (constant specific heats)
Analyze the Otto cycle, which is common in internal combustion engines. After simplification of the ICE cycle to four processes, the processes are analyzed using constant specific heats, which means that gamma is constant throughout the use of the adiabatic/isentropic relations.

Ideal Gas Adiabatic/Isentropic Relations
zhlédnutí 6KPřed rokem
Calculate the properties of a gas undergoing an adiabatic process.
Basic CoolProp Tutorial (Python Thermodynamics)
zhlédnutí 8KPřed rokem
Use CoolProp, a library of functions that allows you to determine properties of various gases and liquids with ease. This video demonstrates the basic use of the PropsSI command, then uses the same command to plot constant temperature lines on a pressure-specific volume chart. List of fluids: www.coolprop.org/fluid_properties/PurePseudoPure.html#list-of-fluids List of properties: www.coolprop.o...
First Law of Thermodynamics
zhlédnutí 575Před rokem
Investigate the interactions between heat transfer, work, and the change of internal energy for a simple process.
Specific Heats - Constant volume/pressure
zhlédnutí 3,2KPřed rokem
Derivation of the constant volume and constant pressure specific heat for fluids.
Ideal Gas Law and Compressibility
zhlédnutí 454Před rokem
Under most normal circumstances, the ideal gas law is an excellent tool for determining the properties of a gas. However, we tend to look at odd situations in Thermodynamics. For that reason, we need to look at situations where the ideal gas law may not apply.
Finding Data from Tables (Bilinear Interpolation)
zhlédnutí 1,7KPřed rokem
Examples of using linear and bilinear interpolation to find data from tables.
Linear Interpolation
zhlédnutí 17KPřed rokem
Calculation of intermediate data through linear interpolation.
Python with Google Colab
zhlédnutí 709Před rokem
A basic tutorial on using Python with Google Colab. Covers basic math and plotting.
Bilinear Quad Element - Shape Functions
zhlédnutí 4,2KPřed rokem
Determine the shape functions and derivatives for the bilinear quadrilateral element. Builds off of the Galerkin Method for 2D Solids and Stiffness Matrix for 2D Solids videos. Warning: using the approximate solution may lead to numerical instability. You should always use numerical integration with at least four points (it's really not that bad).
Element Stresses for 2D Solids
zhlédnutí 657Před rokem
Determine the elements stresses, specifically the von Mises stress, for a 2D element. The process described can be used for any element, though discussion of maximum stress on elements with quadratic or cubic strains is not discussed.
Constant Strain Triangle - Example
zhlédnutí 1,6KPřed rokem
Find the stiffness matrix for a single CST element. Follows videos covering the Galerkin Method derivation (czcams.com/video/7bPY3kQDxJI/video.html), the stiffness matrix derivation for a 2D solid (czcams.com/video/v-dcwocLvaY/video.html), and the isoparametric shape function for a CST (czcams.com/video/zf9ucVTlGeQ/video.html).
Constant Strain Triangle - Shape Functions
zhlédnutí 1,4KPřed rokem
Determine the shape functions and their derivatives for the Constant Strain Triangle. This is a continuation of the Galerkin Method for 2D Elements (czcams.com/video/7bPY3kQDxJI/video.html) and the Stiffness Matrix for 2D Elements (czcams.com/video/v-dcwocLvaY/video.html) videos.
Stiffness Matrix for a 2D Solid
zhlédnutí 1,4KPřed rokem
Starting from the results of the Galerkin Method, determine a form for the Stiffness Matrix for a 2D solid. Note that we have stayed general with our shape functions, meaning that our result will work for any element we come up with.
Galerkin Method for a 2D Solid

Please explain if possible, the middle support (PIN) should have a resultant moment, isn't it? Because intuitively, P is pushing down, the PIN won't settle and the wall won't let move up either. So, there should be a bending effect on the PIN.
