Oh maaaan.. it's just painful to see people doing things that they think they know but really thety don't. I will prove it to you ones I get better after my knee surgery, double total knee replacement.

Instead of mastic under membrane use asphalt primer spray around your pipe, and for faster bound heat up your pipe with torch just prior to spraying it this way no need time to wait for drying then torch your membrane around pipe.

There are a number of problems with this installation. It seems I need to make a roofing video on how to properly torch down modified bitumen. First sign that there's something not kosher is the missing gloves. You need to have a decent pair of leather gloves in order to torch your cap sheet and make it watertight as well. Right now I am recouperating from total knee replacement but as soon I can I will make a video so DIY people have a chance to learn proper way doing it because so different 'interpretations' can confuse anybody.

Because this sealer is not cheap, If I use it to fill a 5" seam line, how many leaner feet can I have for one gallon of Turbo Poly Seal? Thank you a lot Doc.

I can answer any questions to the same standard as this cowboy. The only difference is, not all of my answers involve opening a tin... I'd love to see his guarantee😮‍💨 Plus, don't trust this guy. He prides himself by using the cheapest materials and still charges a premium for his less than basic standard workmanship. I watched an episode where his son tried to flash an upstand aswell as a pipe with one sheet and it was barely 40/50% stuck. Most telling part was his son kept saying I'll leave the detail to the "master" 😅 Good Luck to anyone who uses these cowboys. And watch out for the son. He's on the loose with a van of his own. That is spot on with the drip edge. I used to do HVAC and we did all our own duct work and plenums. We also made drip edge on our benders for the roofers across the street. We made large flanges so lots of bonding area. The roofers loved it and used it as an demonstration piece when explaining why you should go with their bid. They were not wrong, they were the best because they ALWAYS did it right. More cost effective when you do a good job that generated buisness and never have to deal with the expense of a come back. 👍👍👍👍

I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be rude, but what a mess. There are far cleaner and more secure ways to repair a flat roof. At least use some masking tape for a more attractive finish!

I have a huge flat roof house that I bought in 2016. Roof last replaced in 1992. Since I bought the house I spread that rubber roof coating white stuff all over it to extend its life a bit longer since it was leaking till I could afford a replace. Learning a lot from you here so will be attempting a re roof project soon. Thank you 🙏

Seams are always the issue regardless of the type of material and the roof shown has plenty of them. Super Silicon and similar products all pretty much insist the "fleece" reinforcement be used as it is a total system. It can resolve almost all leak issues. I wonder why ANY contractor could not remedy this leaking easily. So sad.
