Yaay, birthday twins! I'll have to do a video updating everyone on how life is now since it has been a few years since this one was filmed-- that's if I can even get him in front of the camera!

Yaay, good for you! IG reels can be fun and easy once you realize that you can just BE YOURSELF and not have to do any of those silly dances or trends. And once you get started with a few, the ideas will keep rolling and you'll wonder what took you so long in the first place! But I hear ya, it took me a long time to overcome my fear to do reels, Facebook lives, and CZcams videos. Just take a deep breath, have fun, and know that NO one is perfect at this! ❤

Hi there! The group has since changed its name and is called "From Single Mom to Mompreneur: Shifting the Story and Changing the Game". Here's the link: facebook.com/groups/singlemomtomompreneur. I will say that the group has not been very active in the past year or more, but I am looking to change that as I make some shifts in my business and personal life. Now, regarding the meaning of "single mom", I understand that this is one of those topics that doesn't have a *right* answer as everyone has their own perception of what it means and reasons behind it. I also understand that some may get offended when one doesn't agree with or has a different opinion of THEIR individual meaning of single mom. Shoot, there are some who may not even consider me a "real" single mom because I am on good terms with my son's father and receive support from him, despite the fact that I am the sole provider and we live in different countries! I have never been one to be argumentative over the topic, as raising kids is hard enough as-is, but if a woman feels she is doing so alone, whether it be physically, emotionally, or financially, we should try to be supportive of that versus getting hung up on definitions. But it is definitely an interesting topic of conversation!

He still has 100% access to his son and was actually willing to sign a power of attorney so that I could be the sole decision-maker while living abroad. If anything were to happen to us while here, he can come get his son since he is the legal father and on the paperwork. With our move, he is now only a 2.5 direct flight away versus a 5+ hour flight across the U.S. That said, they now see each other multiple times a year, whether his dad flies here or we meet up in our hometown or elsewhere.

Oh man, I STRUGGLED to understand the Spanish when I first visited Colombia. It sounds so different than Mexican Spanish! I also watch different Colombian series on Netflix so I can get more used to how the accent sounds. I'm glad you enjoyed the video!

Hey there mama. While moving abroad with a disabled child may come with additional I still believe that you can. Remember that there are families everywhere you go and there are local families who also have disabled children. That said, there may be resources in the city you choose to help make the transition easier and to help create a great life abroad with your child. I recommend researching and joining local Facebook mom groups in the area(s) that you're interested in and asking about different options and resources that could assist you. You may be surprised at what you find out! Don't give up-- where there's a will, there's a way. :-)

I have sole physical custody but not sole legal custody. Thankfully, I have a very good relationship with my son's father and we've been able to raise our son without the help of the courts. He was fully on board for our move to Mexico (after several conversations about the benefits, of course) and even assisted with the Power of Attorney paperwork so that I could make all parenting decisions for our son while abroad. You too can do it, but it helps to have the cooperation with the other parent if you want to make it easy for everyone involved. 🙂
