I have the T-1, it's great!
RIGHT ... it's such a fantastic system!!
I made the same mistake with high temp paint and couldn't figure out how it all burned off lol
LOL ... happens to the best of us ... also in retrospect all these years later I also think that painting OVER the previous paint was the biggest contributing factor!!! Thanks so much for the comment!!
Why do you paint the burn barrell?
lol… honestly just cause I wanted to! No other reason than I thought it looked better painted.
Needs a Hemi surely ?
🤣😎🤪
Big Lou! First time coming across your videos. Thank you so much for your time. In your opinion, do you think the styrofoam panels or the batting insulation you installed is better? To me watching installation of both the batting insulation seems easier to tuck in to the panels rather than messing with the styrofoam that isn't as forgiving. Thoughts?
thanks so much for the comment I really appreciate it!! As for your question I really can't speak to how effective one is over the other, but the fiberglass kit that I bought has worked remarkably well for my door. I went with this option cause the installation seemed far more simple than trying to cut the rigid foam panels to size. I hope this helps!
Just seen this video and I got to say you better watch it because your niece will steal your show 😂🎉🎉.
LMFAO!!! You’re not wrong!!!
Very cool amd helpful! Thanks!
Big Lou, where you been Bro, miss ya and hope all is well, please come back!!!
I'll try it to make a wood smoker.
Hi Lou, I just found your channel. Love your video on this Wagner sprayer because I have a project that I am preparing for just as soon as it warms up here in Ohio. The project is painting our kitchen cabinets. I will be removing all the doors and drawers facings and spraying the primer and top coatings in the garage. I will be doing all the other priming & painting with brush & roller. So after watching your video, I have decided to get the Wagner Flexio 5000. It sure looks faster, easier, and with a more professional finish than doing everything with by brush and roller. One question my friend is what was the ratio of water to primer and water to paint that you found works best with this sprayer? Thank you for all you do. PS.....I just subscribed to your channel.
Video title should say. How to make 10,times the work amd mess
Well, now you’ll know what to name the title of your own video … thanks for the engagement boost!!
My neighbor requested a burn barrel.... So I got him one. Free N/C......only...the top is still on it. So I did what any neighbor would do.....quietly packed up his driveway and dropped the barrel then ran away.
So three years later how is your stand holding up? Did you make any modifications?
it's still as solid as the day I built it ... I've found no need to make any changes to it at all!!
Question please. I put maybe too many holes around the bottom area. My barrel disintegrated in no time. You know the bottom broke off. Did I over do it?
Oh WOW ... that's a new one by me!! I've had mine out in the elements for years and have had no issues with disintegration of any kind!! Wish I could be more help, but I'm honestly not an expert, just a guy in his garage!!
Yes it is worth insulating your garage door. Just did mine with rigid 1" foam board panels plastic one side foil on the other side, and immediately could tell the difference. Cost at Home Depot 4 panels 4x8 feet was plenty for 2 car garage door. Cost about $120...well worth it. A bit tricky cutting panels to a size they fit and would stay in...but after one or two it gets easier. These panels are very light weight and no door adjustment was needed.
heck yeah man!!!! Well done!!
Big Lou, You should wear the long sleeves for protecting from insulation that causes cancer. Can I put insulation doubles? Can I use the gorilla glue on the garage door? Subscribe 👍
it only causes cancer if you inhale it and over a long period of time... for what I did here it may be a little itchy, but thats about it!! Not sure what you mean by insulation doubles... these panels are only designed to be one layer. Gorilla glue would not be my first choice, the adhesives that come with the kit have been more than strong enough to hold everything firm.
Thanks Lou. Your video is better and more clear to the new user of the Tormek T4 that their own videos. Much appreciated Sir!
thanks so much ... learning how to use this machine has been a steeper learning curve than I thought it would be, but it's so great once you get over the hump
lol.... that was hilarious!!! "..... mostly about my mom texting me about 'what are you going to do about....?'" Greg (garden grove, CA)
hahaha ... thanks, I'm glad my humor is appreciated!!
SO YOU GLUE THE WHEELS ON AND THE AXEL TURNS
I just found your channel and I love it! Why did you quit making videos? Do you have any plans to come back? I sure hope so!
I did my garage door couple months ago. Florida, sun facing garage door. I just did 3/4 foam w relctix foil. 10-15 degree diff, no extra weight to door. Used hot glue, instead of depending on double stick. Big diff.
Hey there, I just wanted to tell you that the way you insulated the door is the same way Airplanes are done. A precut piece, 1 inch thick, fit into place and held by they same style fasteners that you used. That was so funny to see you do it that way, good video also.
Very cool ... thanks so much for the info, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video!!
I appreciate the video. However, I would be a bad person if I did not say something about your weight and allowed you to die prematurely which is what WILL happen. Think about it. Even your nickname, "Big" Lou. You bought into that moniker hook, line, and sinker!!!! YOU ARE EATING TOO MUCH. You're eating about 3 times more than you need to. Trust me, the next meal time will come in just 5 or 6 hours. You're not going to starve in between meal times, okay? Stop at just ONE hamburger. Put some veggies on it to help fill you up and give you more fiber. Onion slice, some lettuce, pickles. Veggies help fill you up but have very few calories. You're also eating a ton of pizza. ONE big slice (and no soda) will get you through from lunch to dinner time, ok? You don't need to eat half a pizza. Stop drinking calories. Drink water. Go walk 3 miles a day.
oh really??? wow ... thanks so much for all of this information that I've never heard before in the 46 years I've been alive!!! So let me see if I get this straight ... if I eat LESS I wont be fat??? #mindblown!!
@@BigLousWorkshop Don't get offended. I'm just trying to help. There is NO WAY you can get to that size if you watch what you eat or seriously change your habits. If you're just going to think about it, that won't help. If you're actually going to DO something about it, that will help. Think this through with me..... Your heart is a about the size of your fist. It has to pump blood to all 300 pounds of you. You will lose this battle. If you want to win and make serious changes, you WILL lose weight. Eat one hamburger, not two. The next meal is just 6 hours away. Trust me, you'll make it. Put lettuce and tomato and onion slices on the hamburger to make it bigger. You can eat all the vegetables you want; they have almost no calories to them. I can tell you right now you eat a lot of pizza and if not, then bread. You don't need to eat half the pizza. Have one slice and a glass of water, have it with pepperoni if you want and add some veggies; green pepper, onion, etc.. Don't drink your calories. Drink water. Skip any diet products; they're all chemicals. If you're hungry after one hamburger, drink 2 glasses of water or 3 if you want. You're better off eating some roast beef and vegetables than a hamburger on a bun which has the bread. Think about it.....everything we eat here in America has bread; pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, sub sandwiches, burritos, etc. All the bread, crackers, pizza dough, etc., all converts to sugar and makes it hard to lose weight. Walk a mile a day. With some uphill areas so you really have to work. If 1 mile becomes do-able, then get up to 3 miles. Maybe walk while eating breakfast of bananas or something (fruits have sugar in too, so they're higher in calories). Anyways, I'm rootin' for ya. I'm not asking you to build a spaceship here, okay? Just one piece of pizza with toppings, one hamburger with toppings, etc. The next meal is just 5 or 6 hours away. You can do this.
I’m not offended if I was I’d deleted the comment and blocked you. But I’m not reading all of that nonsense you wrote.

Insulation= GOOD !
Agreed!!!
Hi do you spray metallic paint with that small spray machine
I dont use metallic paint... I've only ever used water based latex and enamel pain in this machine!!
I have some 2 ea 12 by 12 doors in my shop. It has wooden doors. I'm trying to figure out how to insulate them.
Good luck with your insulation
thanks!!
Dude is a burn barrel
yes ... yes it is!! Very astute observation!!
Just used 1 for 11 upper cabinets and 8 base cabinets and agree, over spray was an issue, but paint came out perfect with a wide spray, 3 volume, and wide open air. Love your videos
Thats awesome... and thanks so much!!
Have you used an oil paint in this sprayer yet? If so how did the cleaning up process go? Did you just spray mineral spirits through it after or did you soak the parts in it?
I only ever use water based latex and enamel paints. Oil based paints are WAAAAAY to much of a hassle for me!!
Just got mine the other day! Love it! I had the exact same issues you described at end of video, exactly..... Did you make a video on how to adjust and set up fence? That's my biggest issue. Thanks! Love your show!! Jay
Unfortunately no… I’ve not been able to make videos for a while!!! Keep looking though, I’m sure there’s a ton of videos from other people that have explained it in detail!! Thanks so much for the comment.. I really appreciate it.
Excellent presentation and one of best I've seen. Thank you Big Lou!

GREAT VIDEO THANK U, U HELPED ME PUT MINE TOGETHER, AND THAT POWER WASHING WAS ODLY SATISFYING!

I'm also in FL with same type of thin steel garage doors facing directly west (direct sun half the day). Last week (late-august) I installed this insulation kit and measured a ten degree difference on the inside surface of my garage doors. Also the attic space over my garage was not insulated so had insulation blown-in. After the attic and garage door insulation was completed the interior garage temp during 98-100 sunny days went from 105-110 to 85. This is a significant difference where that now one can actually function in and use the garage during the high-summer. Next a mini-split ac system and it'll be all set.
That’s amazing!!! I sadly don’t have an attic above my garage to blow in any insulation. But yeah man, the mini split will be a HUGE addition!! My Mr Cool is a godsend.
I get this is probably a night and day approach. However, look into the spray foam kits. They physically adher to the door and by my calculations one 20ft garage door would be served by one of the 6 can kits. I am going to know soon because I normally use the SprayEZ cartridge guns but the bathroom I am currently finishing is too small so I needed to order a Kraken kit to do some nics and crevasse. Obviously, you can not do a garage door with a two component cartridge system.
So Lou, after a year, what have you noticed about being insulated?
The heat radiating from the door is nonexistent anymore with the insulation
@@BigLousWorkshop awesome
Hmmm. I don't do videos. So i'll just type it in. I insulated my 400sq ft attic which runs up to 130 deg F. during the summer rather than my 120 sq ft garage door with an outside temp seldom over 112 deg. Problem solved. I'll never bother to insulate the garage door. I blew in 14 inches of that grey wooly looking stuff. My son and I did it in about 2 hours. Home depot loaned us the blower. I don't remember what the insulation cost. It was 20 years ago. I cool the garage (1/2 of it converted to woodworking) with an 8000 btu Panasonic AC. Not COOL, but can work in it year-round. Just saying...
Oh, I forgot to say. That 400 sq ft attic space is the space above the garage. The rest of the attic was alrerady insulated. But I'm sure you figured that out. :>)
Whatever works for your situation I say roll with it man!!! Thanks for the comment!!
What is the total weight on 8 panels (one box)? just want to make sure my old garage opener can lift with the additional weight. Thank you.
For a door this size I needed two boxes and each box was like 3 or 4 pounds... the overall weight added to the door was maybe 10 pounds, if that!!

@@BigLousWorkshop By the way, what is the reason you pick Corning R8 (more expensive) instead of other foam board product or reflective bubble ? is it fiberglass more easy to install plus it has the higher R valve (R8) and Foam board only has R4-R5 and also need to be measured and custom precise cut (more time consuming) and more difficult insert into panels. Thanks again.
@@BigLousWorkshop Love it 🥰😍 Thank you so much.
Aren’t you not supposed to be anywhere near the pink stuff? Doesn’t it have fiberglass or something
