    @MJ-uf9tl Před 17 hodinami

    For many of us who followed basketball at all levels for decades, our introduction to the WNBA has been a rude awakening and a huge realization about what the problems have been. Over the years we have read and heard about it in the media. I guess they have been so isolated from fans and media that they slowly developed their own culture comprised of that of the players without any outside influence that would have impact on the desired product. It seems like the league commissioner and top level people, the owners, the coaches and even the refs are all substandard and let the players run the show. Maybe not "all", but the vast majority. It is difficult to watch. Then these college players show up, many from good programs with solid coaching and game fundamentals and a team first/win first mindset. They are in for a rude awakening having to deal with this handicapped league culture that is so unhealthy, built on fighting (refs?), blatant fouling (refs?), favoritism (coaches?), and schedules and crappy traveling in the past (league?). Race and sexuality are part of that culture that developed because the league has been so isolated and unfollowed for decades that there were no boundaries set for respect for accepting a variety of people. It became "us" vs the world. Now the world has shown up and it isn't a pleasant league or situation to watch. And the league, who desperately wanted the attention and acknowledgment thinks the world wants to see this mini dystopia they have created that has been in the making unscrutinized for so long. And that isn't what a mixed pot pubic wants to see. The pubic wants inclusion, acceptance of all and "teams" and NOT these subcultures that have existed so long. It's like being in "gangs" and if players are "in", they get treated ok. If they're not part of that, then retribution is what is coming. Those who resist are brow beat or locked out until they either succumb to the culture or leave. And where are the referees and coaches? The coaches encourage it and the refs have gotten so used to managing it that they have lost sight of what the game boundaries are. The WNBA is teetering on the brink of disaster. Maybe these are the final growing pains before the big "change" comes to make them finally relevant. Or it is the beginning of the end because once the public turns away this time, it will be next to impossible to ever get them back. So many relevant people are yelling that they are killing their big opportunity to finally gain the status they have wished for over decades. But they think they "deserve" to be accepted for this subculture that they have evolved into and when they aren't getting that acceptance, it's up to them whether or not they want to make the changes to become part of the sports world that so many athletes and fans enjoy. Or do they want to keep their small subculture of being a "gang" that determines who and what is acceptable and the fans have to bend the knee to them and accept it. It isn't going to happen that way. So chose. Make the adjustments or fail and crash and burn for the final time. The players chose to make the league what it was that no one watched. Not they get to chose if they want the success they have craved while making changes that fans will accept and follow them. But no one wants to follow the WNBA. That situation has been hammered home for many years. Sink or swim, WNBA.

    Many at ESPN, many women, and many many people do NOT like the truth! They get stuck in their feelings and the DEI bulls***. Shannon and Steven A. are 💯 correct on this topic! Nobody cares about the WNBA, which is why it is subsidized by the NBA. For the first time, the WNBA has someone who has star power and is drawing eyeballs, and they (WNBA) choose their "feelings" over business! When no one watches the women's Olympic basketball team, just don't complain and cry about it. I'm tired of women and woke idiots complaining about unequal pay when they can't make smart business decisions!

    I have a suggestion. Why not have a BLACK WNBA and a WHITE WNBA. and let's see how each race would support their own. It's all about color right? Or maybe an ACTIVIST WNBA and a JUST PLAY BALL WNBA. That would be fun. We don't see this in the NBA. And to think that the W never turned on a profit for 23 years? Imagine if they did. They would turn this world upside down if they can.

You're all about racism etc. It seems y'all thrive in hatred and division. JUST SHUT UP AND SUPPORT YOUR OWN and go warch their games instead of yapping. and stop blaming society and hating on people who prefer a certain individual. YOU do not have the right to dictate to anyone who to follow and who to like. STOP ! GET SOME HELP! The problem is everyone is afraid to call a spade a spade to put these people in their place. Now, if the role was reversed, and Caitlin was doing this to them, it would be public outcry. The news would have a field day reporting on it. Yet, showing them in a violent aggressive state, the people that could do something are no where to be found. There's NO WAY I'm the only person to see there's something wrong in our country when stuff like this happens. How do we as a country continue to let this go on? Our country needs to wake up and say enough is enough in all other words. And those who don't like it, are welcome to get there passports and leave. I mean this is far past ridiculous. When does the people and our government say enough is enough? I mean its bizarre in so many ways, when its a white person being victim of racism, they just use words, phrases and excuses that dont make sense with the subject. Call a duck a duck. There being racist against her, period. The people that scream it all the time, are actually the people that are it. We live in sad times and not for the reasons he spoke. To say with a straight face that black Americans dont have upper advantages against white Americans in todays world is insanity I'm sorry.

    I love and support the growth of woman’s sports and athletics everywhere tbh. It’s BS that their leagues don’t get a fair media push or marketing campaigns like the men’s leagues. Idc how anyone tries to dress shit up - we live in a society especially here in the U.S that loves to divide human beings via ethnicity, gender, religion etc… bottom line for me is that CC is obviously a tremendously skilled player that has entered the W which is full of scary great athletes and great people who happen to be all women b/c 😮 guess what? Woman can do whatever they please! And they should be supported when they’re cultivating and establishing themselves in any bit of greatness they DECIDE to venture into. I love to see the marvelous women do their work 💪🏽💯 Angel Reese is my fav 🔥 ,, feel like her and CC are really bringing in a lot of eyes and 💰to the W which is ultimately the goal.

    Folks I’m not a Celtics fan - just a basketball fan! The Celtics played the Mavs like I’ve been saying teams should play them all year long. Look, Luka has no athletic ability so he will never blow by you or elevate over you. He just waits for high screens. Simply play him one on one and play the 3. Even if he passes, he hangs around the three line. Just play the 3. If he gets a pass downhill, you won’t be able to get around his fat body, but that doesn’t happen often. And for Defense, he can’t play D because he’s not athletic - no lateral movement. I’ve never seen a team put ALL of the energy into getting one guy a shot. He usually takes 26 shots to make 30 points and 8 of those points are at the line. Mavs need to play team ball and use some of their athletes. Kyrie is a one on one phenom, but he and Luka both need to take 25-27 shots. And they aren’t efficient. Luka is severely overrated and hyped up and that’s why the Celtics (with an intelligent coach) handled them with ease. Gentleman’s Sweep to finish in Boston. Simple.

    Pure and simple. The WNBA does not welcome white players who may play better than some of them, so they punish them with racist acts against them, then accuse the victim of being the racist. Steven A. Smith confounded the definition of jealousy with a rant of his pent-up anger, though he doesn't seem to be suffering. The white player has done no harm to anyone. She communicates, very clearly, that her desire is to play a game she loves.

  • @pentaxpro
    @pentaxpro Před 2 dny

    CC is like the girl down the block in your neighborhood and she was briefly over at your parents home and now your mom loves her and the rest of your family wants to see her succeed. She fits into a niche that a lot of people want to see at a subtle level. Very few people get to be that person. Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods and Barack Obama all had something about them that was more than what made them great at doing. That made people want to watch them. Playing the victim role will not send you to a place where you will be a role model.
