It's not an illusion. It is our four way criss cross. Yes we do march straight through while playing. Your stomach does turn, when the drums roll, and the front rank pivots toward the logo on center of field.
We are super precise, that’s why it includes everything. 😊

As a former brass player I have nothing but respect for all marching bands, but this was such a joy to watch, the work that had bin put in was incredible. Keep it going guys, we have nothing like this in the UK,shame 😢

What a lot of people don’t know is that the drill is different every game. The members of the band are not in a tradition college campus ROTC program. They are live in the same dorms, eat all there meals together and wear their uniforms to class every day. It’s 24 hours a day 7 days a week
Ah, you already know some secrets about the Aggie Band! Their ever-changing drill routines always keep me on the edge of my seat, wondering what amazing formations they'll pull off next. And yeah, the live-in dorms, shared meals, and daily uniforms - that's a level of commitment you don't see everywhere. It builds such a tight-knit community, it's like they're all marching to the same beat, even off the field. :)
@@jbratt That's absolutely incredible! Being part of the Corps of Cadets is an honorable distinction, and I can only imagine the pride you must feel as a member of the Class of 1986. Class of 19 & hope 24 for my PhD! :)

Why did you speed up the tempo? The video part was super.
(BQ '76) A true "Forward March" is 90 beats per minute. "Quick-time, March" is 120bpm. The Band marches at 104bpm. You can hike for miles at that speed without getting tired (Army and Boy Scouts leader). I dream at the proper tempo; immediately realized the video was speeded up. And why is the image reversed as if looking at a mirror? But it still works well at the increased speed. Complicated drill; even this old BQ was impressed. I'd give it an "8 O'clock" (no mistakes and perfect alignment; get to sleep through Monday morning formation). The old joke is at the end someone yells, "Free beer!" (only in our minds) and the BQ's run off the field for their share.

As someone who has marched professionally in DCI, FTAB is really good at making very simple drill look very complicated. Precision marching is an art, and A&M does it well, but it is not difficult, and the sheer number of people makes it look very impressive. Now, as a member of TBDITL (Ohio State’s marching band) the forms and shows we march may not be the most technically difficult or look all that complicated, but is by far the most entertaining halftime show in all of collegiate marching. And for having one of the smallest marching ensembles in all of collegiate marching, we are one of if not the best sounding bands in the country. FTAB is good, but not on our level. Go Bucks! Beat Blue!
