How to forage and cook wild garlic (ramsons)
A complete Wild Garlic identification and foraging guide, with recipes and examples of how to use your foraged food! This guide will teach you where to find Wild Garlic, how to identify the leaves and flowers, and lots of other tips and advice. I also share some of my favourite recipes and how to cook with it. Wild Garlic (AKA Ramsons) is one of things I look forward to foraging every year and it’s one of the things I recommend beginners learn to forage first.

Solo wild camping through Storm Isha in the Brecon Beacons
zhlédnutí 1,2KPřed 5 měsíci
My first solo expedition in years and it was a wild one! Hiking the Dragons Back Ridge in the Brecon Beacons and wild camping through the 70mph gusts of Storm Isha. I considered not going because the winds were so high, but the peak of the storm got pushed later and later until the next day. I camped late and left early after not much sleep; it felt like a proper adventure epic. This route woul...
A similar alternative to the Snowdon Miners Track
zhlédnutí 1,2KPřed 6 měsíci
A quieter alternative to Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) in Eryri (Snowdonia)! Cadair Idris is similar to Snowdon in shape and size, but you will have far fewer other hikers for company. It is about 30 minutes south of Snowdon, so a shorter drive for us Southerners who visit. The approach follows a mountain stream through the woods. We then reach a large lake at the base of the huge amphitheatre shaped mou...
Isle of Skye munro hike | Sgùrr a’ Mhadaidh on the Cuillin Ridge
zhlédnutí 2,1KPřed 9 měsíci
Great hiking and a short scramble to the summit of Sgùrr a’ Mhadaidh in the Cuillin Hills! A bucket list ridgeline for me. One of the rocky Munros on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. We were looking for a simple scramble where we could still likely summit a Munro in rainy weather. The approach follows a long mountain stream with waterfalls until the grass turns into rock. The summit kept peeking t...
The easiest route to hike up Pen Y Fan (South Wales' tallest mountain)
zhlédnutí 10KPřed 11 měsíci
Walk up Pen Y fan, the tallest mountain in south Wales, via the easiest route with us! This whole route can be completed in around 3 hours so is perfect to do with kids or lazy friends who can’t be bothered for full-day mountains. Pont Ar Daf car park is at a reasonably high elevation so it’s much easier to hike this route compared with the other major trails. The views here are among the best ...
Two HUGE hidden waterfalls on the Brecon Beacons Elidir Trail

A short hike to two stunning waterfalls (Sgwd Gwladys and Sgwd Eigion Gam) in the Brecon Beacons Waterfall Country for a wild swim. This hike follows a river through the woodlands of the Brecon Beacons National Park to find two tall waterfalls. The first is very popular in summer and you may find you have lots of other people present, but the second is lesser-known and often totally private. I ...
We tried to hike the Welsh 3000s barefoot.

We attempted to summit all 15 of the tallest mountains in Wales, totally barefoot. I love barefoot hiking, I think it is great for your foot health and honestly just makes me feel great. Disclaimer, I don’t recommend you attempt a hike like this as your first barefoot hike! Start small, in the woods or your local park. You can build up from there as your feet get stronger. Any questions, commen...
Wild camp and campfire Goulash | cast iron dutch oven

Come on a campfire cookout with me! We went to the Gower Peninsula in South Wales for date night, wild camping on the sand dunes behind the sandy beach of Oxwitch Bay. I’ll show you how we set up the fire for cooking and how we make a Slovakian Goulash on our cast iron Dutch oven. Nothing beats a campfire on the beach on a clear night, with the most delicious smoky food you can imagine. . . My ...
Let me show you this Peak District wild swimming spot (easily accessible)

Happy to share directions with you to this wicked little swimming spot! The Peak District was where we spent our bank holiday weekend, mostly bouldering but we stopped at this wild swimming spot after a local friend recommended it to us. It wasn't warm but was absolutely stunning. Only about a 15-minute flat walk across paths and fields, this walk was really easily accessible. It was stunning! ...

If i take T4 bus, where should I stop? Which bus stop please?
Videos like this are always helpful to anyone who wishes to tackle this little climb for the first time. I mountain bike in this area quite often and it's one of my favourite places. Absolutely love the views. 👍
Interesting..freedom and apparently good for the Souls! I Heard others going bare for charity. Don't listen to negative people and insults!
Have a little respect. The name is Pen y Fan. Nothing to do with a penny or a van.
You could offer to teach me instead of berating me? Have a little respect
You sound like you need lessons in respect not the lady who made the effort to create this helpful video.
Ne'er mind, eh?
Nice feet 😅. And agreed, since I started wearing shoes better designed for walking and running I can't look back. I have wide feet and it's not a one size fits all world.
Hey will you post a vlog of your recent Tryfan barefoot hike? And you wrote: "I'm trying to tick off the rest of the Welsh 3000s after I stopped after the Glyders last year" any vlog coming too? Inspiring Thank you!
Yes it's coming! I had a filmmaker join me on the trip and he is currently editing it, I am excited to see it as you are!
@@elventuresuk Great!
Delighted to hear you've got more content coming - it's been a while! Still amazed that you don't have more subscribers... CZcams makes no sense sometimes! Keep up the good work 😊
It's a beautiful place. I went and swam here in April. Early in the morning. Loved it. I haven’t been to last one yet where you got in there in your skins. Well done. Hope you share another video soon👋
I saw you in a magazine and you are amazing! The view also worths it!
Oh really?! Which magazine? Thanks for the support 😊
Please do more videos. I only just found your channel 👋
😂😂👏👏👍
😂👏👏💪
Never heard of it. Thanks.
Well done👌 Brilliant short. Forgot my towel and dried myself in my fleece😂 Loved that👏👏
Gorgeous feet.
Really enjoyed that. I recently did it too and camped on the lake. I was suprised the same as you to see the shelter up the top, yes it's like a bothy. Really enjoy your video here. Thanks for sharing👋
Thanks. I am going try go here.
Heavy items should put in the top section such the weight rest on your upper back, take some of the weight off your shoulders.
The point is to put the weight on the hip belt. How would putting weight up high "take weight off of your shoulders"? It's gonna cause the pack to tip away from your back, and that causes weight on the shoulder straps. This is why packs have "load lifters": to keep the cg as close to you as possible. Keeping weight low helps this. I don't know where so many people got the idea that "weight up high" makes sense.
Things with mud should put in a plastic bag such it will not dirty your backpack
Brave girls - brave feet !
Shoes are made for a purpose ! Mountains are not like the square of your town. They are plenty of gravels and boulders. Please don't do this again. You 've got lovely pale legs ( and they need your feet as an indispensable extention ).
I was doing so good with no fap until now. Im going to try and look for something unbeautiful immediately
Da iawn.

Thank you for this, helped out as I'll be visiting in 2wks time
Wow I'm in awe of you both! Very inspiring❤
Where'd yeah have to get acupuncture for yer tootsie
I lost it at ''sh1t kit'' XD XD XD great video btw, really helped me with the choice of which size of backpack go for
I like that you don‘t pack it all in neat and clean, just stuff it somewhere 😅
Great adventure in gorgeous countryside. Count me as a new sub!
I'm walking barefoot almost all the time, it's ridiculous people would call it dangerous because with your feet bare you feel everything underneath and your balance is better as well. Have you ever seen a mountain goat with shoes on? 😁
Two beautiful young ladies hiking barefoot; i love it!
Very healthy for your feet; they'll become stronger and tougher every time.
I'm not Welsh but I do make an effort to pronounce the names correctly. Perhaps you could do the same? Clue: Not all letters sound the same as in English.
I thought the said it correct
@@MussoliniLondon An 'F' alone at the beginning of a word is pronounced as a 'V', so 'Pen-ee-Van'. A double 'F' at the beginning of a word if an 'F' e.g. Ffestiniog
@@simonburnett765 The correct welsh pronounciation is Pen-Uh-Van actually.
you may have the most beautiful barefeet on earth El
Weldone for doing it. People fall with the best boots;they trip or slide on wet rock. I totally agree with your reasons to do it. I love barefeet on tracks, beach etc.I have tough feet.So much nicer to do it feeling the ground beneath you.My grandmother went up Crib Goch for her Honeymoon-hobnail boots! I did the Pig Track in 2009
That looks a nice place, not really been to that part of the UK, you're making it look very appealing.
que pés lindo
Penny van???? Are you English by any chance
Feel free to correct me
@@elventuresuk I'm Welsh and some Welsh people feel the need to constantly correct English people when saying Welsh words. I see no point unless an English person asks for the correct way. It's no big deal.

Hey there! Sorry what was the name of the car park please? We are heading there tomorrow hopefully or day after. Great video thanks for sharing!
Pont ar Daf :)
Did your foot hurt
Good video. What about if someone has a plant/tree on there property but is over hanging the fence, can you forage from it as long as you don't take from there boundary? I've seen nice lavenda, rosemary and willow trees I would like to have a pick at, but don't want to steal now. From what I have read it is ok to trim if they were your neighbour so what about forage?
Wow!! Abundant wild garlic in your area!! So lovely!
Beers.....the only essential item!
nice video i use the same tent great price weight and tunnel tent good in wind i’ve just started a new channel called ELUSIVE DARTMOOR i’m going out soon first one of the year 👌👌

this is what feet are made for. why are there so many nerve endings in them? they give us a feeling of our ground
