I was in this all the time throughout school, its was so different when out of school and different built, the 3 guys that did all the time, walked up kicked as hard as i could right in the nuts, then elbow to top of the scull, i was arrest 3 times, the judge said if i come back ever again he'll put me in jail for 5 years, i remember saying to the judge, nop no need your honour, i got all 3 that did the same to me throughout my school years. 4 years late, came back in town to see my mother and sister, sore one of the guys again, he was walking infront of me with few of his friend's,, i couldn't help it, kick him right in the nuts agian, he fell to the ground with this screem, to of his friend's turn at me in this looking shock like stair, they recognised me and put the heads down, i looked a Mich on ground and said, im not the one to worry about now, but i know 6 other men that i was holding back, he knew who was talking about, saying if you call the cops this time around, i cant imagine what these guy going to do not knowing your still in town, i make 1 phone call and it be on anf over for you. The sad part about this is i received a phone call from my mother, mum told me that mich from school took his own life. Late on finding mich was molested as a child by his own father. The other 2 guys i never sore again. Life, who can explain it.

I love this movie. However... Did anyone notice none of the students seemed phased by this? I find that kinda funny lol But at the same time, his dad was just on the news for killing a bunch of people in such a brutal way that maybe they thought "Like father, like son" lol
I was 6'2" as a freshman but skinny as a board. I got bullied by 3 or 4 members of our football team and it was encouraged by the wrestling coach who was nothing but a gorilla who wore clothes. I dealt with it by walking away. Back in 1981 there weren't a lot of martial arts dojos available. Had there been I would have gladly joined and gained more self confidence to stick up for myself.

We even had guys with dad's truck with a gun rack with guns. No one ever thought what they do today. I guess 70s 80s they started with the adhd, hyperactive & Ritalin that they started pumping into kids. I'm laughing.
This is such a weird movie. The message of it is violence is wrong, even when it's called for... except that every single character in the movie who has violence enacted against them not only deserves it but can't be dealt with in any other way.
Violence begets violence.
@@Ragitsu Yeah, but the violence shown in this movie is self-defense against violent people who can't be reasoned with. The two bad guys who try to rob the restaurant not only insinuate that they also plan on raping the waitress, but before that, we see one of them shoot a child.
@@gabe_s_videos Irrelevant. The point is threefold -> 1.) To demonstrate that conflict breeds conflict. 2.) Even bloodshed utilized for purely protective measures is horrifying to behold. 3.) There are psychological effects which endure long after any resultant scars have faded away. If more action television and/or cinema depicted violence the way Cronenberg does (i.e., not shying away from the gore and savagery), chances are neither would be nearly as romanticized as they are now in our current society.

The truest part of any movie with bullying. Is the fact that the bullying is fine and dandy all day everyday for the kid getting bullied. But the one day the kid getting bullied stands up for himself and fights back. They will always be in trouble and i can’t understand why. I wasn’t a great kid. There were people who tried to bully me bc of how small I was. But when I realized how strong I was…I was no better than the people who attempted to bully me. I bullied the bullys. Bad
