This will not work in a real fight
Any form of martial arts can be effective in a fight, if the techniques are executed properly. For example: When someone draws their hand back to throw a punch, throw a Teisho-Uchi(Palm Heel Strike) to the chin, then a Shuto Uchi (Knife Hand Strike) to the brachial plexus, Oi Tzuki(Front Hand Punch) to the pelvic girdle, Empi Uchi (Elbow Strike) to the temple, then finish off with a Fumikomi Geri (Stomp Kick) to the back of the knee. This is an advanced Karate combination known as "Five Swords", and it is highly effective when executed properly. I suggest you do more research.
