I post 4x4 videos and I drive a Discovery 4 being a great weekend off-road vehicle.
SHOCKWORKS - Premium Suspension VF Redline 2017
Went down to Shockworks to have the VF Commodore suspension upgraded. Chose the Premium option, I only drive the car as a ‘weekend car’ so not concerned about daily driving etc. so happy, love the ride and the stance.

LLAMS installation on Discovery 4 Land Rover

LLAMS install instructional video. I have a D4 where I was sick of not being able to access the additional height that the discovery 4 offers - extended mode. The lambs install is going to enable me to be able to be more proactive when it comes to clearance, anticipate when im going to need that extra inch or two clearance. I hope this video helps you with your instal. Thanks LLAMS!!

This is the 12V system I use in my Land Rover Discovery 4. I use this as my simple camping set up for off-roading. I have a Nomad 100amp/hr lithium battery, redarc bcdc and an ARB drawer that allows me to use one of the rear seats. I pair this up with a 40l Dometic fridge. Put the swag on the roof, awning for some shelter and we are away.

Discovery 4, Brown Town Track - Otways 4x4

Brown Town Track is just out of Gellibrand in Victoria. It’s in the Otway Ranges where we took a Discovery 4, Amarock, Hilux and Colorado. Make sure you watch to the end to see what the inside of the car ended up looking like. I’ve still got the Goat, only due to Nick and Scott not doing anything outstanding to earn it back.

Scott and I hit the tracks at Paddys swamp, Vic. We both got bogged had a great time lots of winching and Scott got to take his Amarok out with the new 2 inch lift and Mickey Thompson tyres great day out. The question is, who won the goat?

Cowley Link Track in the Otway’s Vic, Australia. Great track, steep and would be so difficult in the wet almost dangerous. Anyway dry for us which was great otherwise the kids and I wouldn’t be tackling it. We came across a Red Belly Black snake, creek crossing and a beautiful little spot down the bottom for a. BBQ.

Hi I'm looking at these for the r8 wagon, what was the cost?
Best to give them a call as they can speak with you about the option that suits your needs. They are not the cheapest….
Sick
Hi, I know the video is on an older setup but I have the same wheels and sizes etc. what the pressures were you running? Thanks
Hi Patrick, I’m not 100% on this occasion as you mentioned it was quite a while ago. I generally go down to about 19psi with the stock 19’s due to the small side wall. When I run the 18’s with TuffAnts and the mud tyres I can go a couple lower. The biggest change to the performance was the 18’s and the KM3’s, truly transformed the car in mud. Cheers Owen
Great clip, well done. Will make my job a lot easier. 👍
Glad it helped, love the Discos!!
I was thinking the exact same thing! The mudflaps are good on your D4. I have an older D3 which I think they would also look good on.
Thanks for sharing - Where did you get your mudflaps from?
Thanks, first one back for a while. I got them from Tuff ROK in the UK. I heard the other day that they might be closed. Hopefully someone on here can point you in the right direction. If you haven’t please subscribe. Cheers Owen
@@holdenowen Thanks, I was already subscribed 👍
Seemed okish to me. Did you turn the speed of HDC all the way down?
Hi there, it was at a Land Rover instructional day where they teach you how to use your new car. It was seven years ago so not entirely sure if it was all the way down but certainly was put down to a point where the car was required to manage the descent.
Hi mate, I’m doing this install tonight and wondered what you did with the red push button switch. I saw you tucked the box up under the trim, but what about the switch? Btw, this is the best resource for installation of this kit. Cheers
No worries I’m glad you are finding it helpful. I can send you a picture if I could work out how on here? Basically I put the switch in the panel that drops down to the area you are working in at your right knee.
How’d you go?
@@holdenowen yeah, really good. I see that you are on the same Disco Facebook thread as me. I will update your post in there so that I can share some pics. Still keen to see where you put the switch. Cheers
@@Doofuski sounds like a plan. Tag me in the comment and I’ll attach the picture I took last night for you.

Ok, thanks for the tip. Last thing I need to replace a disco transmission.
Thanks for taking the time to record this video. Was very useful when installing the LLAMS on my LR4 today. You were right about those connectors being a pain.
Thanks Michael, glad it was helpful. Thanks for subscribing. It was a little tricky under there trying to get those connectors in. I still have PTSD..
good track.. i like it's..
Thanks Jum. I need to get back out there for another go at it.
Fantastic video - installing mine today and so much time saved watching this! Thanks a lot!
Thanks James, appreciate the feedback and for subscribing, need to get to 1000 which is a long process. Glad you found it helpful.
Installed mine today on my D4 (Sydney), your tips saved me a bit of time - especially that 4th large round bolt under the weather strip. The Eezi-Awn feels so lightweight I initially wondered if it would be strong enough but it seems to be. Thanks for the video.
G’day mate, glad the video was of some assistance to you. I do wonder if these are of any help to anyone. Happy day! Cheers and thanks for subscribing. Owen
Can’t beat the D4 for clearance. The IFS has no diff pumpkin to get caught up. Like a hummer minus the portal axle. Plus he benefits of in road manners. This model was way ahead of its time. Has the power and torque of todays vehicles with a vehicle design of 20 years ago (DISCO 3). Big Fan of the DISCO 4. Some question the reliability. I’ve heard good things except the odd crankshaft failure.
It’s a great car, I need to get out and start filming again.
Thanks for making the vid. I'm thinking about adding into my D4 - so many add-ons to do!
Cheers mate, I need to get out for a 4x4, it’s been so long. Enjoy the upgrading!
Looked like the Hilux spent most of the day on life support for the Colorado
Hahahaha
HDC 아닌듯.. 이런 브레이크 밟는 소리 안 나던데..
Sdv6? About convert from a D2
Yeah, diesel twin turbo. Plenty of torque.
Why not using the super extendet Mode
Hi, the issue with super extended mode is that you need to be stuck to access it. Once you’re stuck generally it’s too late. I have installed LLAMS on to the D4 now (see my other video) so now I can choose height before I tackle a tough obstacle or deep rutted muddy bogs. Thanks for watching. Cheers Owen
@@holdenowen Okey i See the other video.
Hi there, I really enjoyed your video, I am putting together an off road compilation of the Discovery, and wondered if you would like to be included?
Hi pal, potentially- can you tell me more? Cheers Owen
@@holdenowen Hi Owen, I compile short videos from youtubers from different parts of the world into one video based on a particular Land Rover. I recently compiled an off road video on the RR L322: czcams.com/video/VXGQ-2hvkYM/video.html
Thanks for the video, interested in how you have set up the jig for the spare wheel? Thanks
Hi Mark, I used a product from TuffAnt that fits on the winder loop in the boot. Then I welded on an impact driver fitting so it can extend up from the floor. I then use the impact driver to lower the wheel. Cheers Owen
Awesome. Now I know how to set up the spare wheel lowering winch. Thanks
Glad it was helpful.
It’s looks awesome
Thanks mate. It was a decent day out. Lots of fun. I think the government have now closed these tracks which is a little sad.
Probably a Big GT or Mackeral, maybe even a shark?!
Could very well one of those. I’ll be back in 4 weeks where I’ll be taking a Diawa Saltist 5000 reel with 100lb braid. See if we can stop something interesting.

Nice idea. I ahve also a Disco 4 2016 SDV6 :) . I don't use the 2 extra seats at all, so I removed them completely and carpenter friend made me a nice wood floor that fits perfectly, made of 2 sections. Being wood I can do what ever to it. This also creates some storage space for stuff you hope you will never need :) . The bloody seats are like 50 kg, so you gain some payload as well. I saved all the bolts so I can install them back at any time if sell the car ( I don't think I ever will, I love it too much :) ) . Great videos.
Thanks mate. It would be ideal to get rid of the third row, but having 3 kids still at home you just never know when you’ll need the extra seat. 50kg?! Wow that’s a great weight saving. I’m right on gvm, so that would be great to reduce the weight. Hmmmmm
Was the extended height mode not working? TR on mud?
Yeah, but I find the extended mode is a reactive function, should be something you can select before getting stuck. I have purchased LLAMS so I will fit that shortly. BTW sorry I missed your comment somehow. Cheers Owen
What size arb drawer?
Hi Mark, the box is 900 x 500 x 300mm. Cheers Owen

I’ve been advised you can still run 65 profile tyres when on bump stops, but you may get a little more rubbing. I haven’t tested it though. Thanks for sharing your setup.
Cheers pal. It’s really hard to get accurate info as there are so many variables. I would just hate the idea of being in the middle of know where and can’t drive at my tires as a little to big. With the TUFFANTS and KM3’s I don’t feel there is a real benefit in going a fraction bigger… risking getting stuck. Thanks for subscribing, hope you enjoy. Cheers Owen
@@holdenowen tend to agree Owen, and those tyres won’t let you down
I bit the bullet and put 265/65r18 on my Tuffant steelies and then got my LR indie mechanic to drop it to its bump stops. There's a little rubbing at the rear but it still rolls.
@@christopherbrew9016 nice one, handy to have a good Indy to help. Is there rubbing from the front end on lock, that seems to be he biggest problem area?
@@holdenowen a little rubbing at lock but not too bad and certainly not enough to hinder progress. Just note that I am not running muddies but Falken Wildpeak ATs. Rubbing could be worse with muddies with bigger side biters.
Thats a good setup my dad needs to do something to his disco it needs a better setup.
Hi pal, if I can can help yell out, you’re local aren’t you? (Geelong)
@@holdenowen Yeah only just started thinking about it and yes local torquay
Once this lockdown is done let’s catch up at Anglesea fur a spin and a chat.
@@holdenowen That would be good to get the 2 discos out on the tracks together.
Absolutely, we should make it happen.
I just directly hoop the tie down on the seat mounting bracket. The control box just between the side trim and seat. If I need the 6th seat, I just remove the fridge. Battery and control box stay.
Awesome work!
Thanks mate.
