the fact that you cant see the veil over the realm of shadow while in the shaman village is peak attention to detail

I just realized that it was Marika who was guiding us all along. Not the Erdtree, not the Greater Will.
also makes sense, then, why this place has no site of grace; it’s the origin of her grief-stricken ambition.
I hate this place, it feels like the first 15s of the main theme, looped, and it just never deliver the good part of it, found it frustrating lol
After I beat the DLC, I went back here and rest near the statue of Marika that is under the tree, felt like a fitting way to end my journey. I miss Marika. 😔

this area made me cry when i entered it. just the music and how its abandoned, and the item descriptions from the 2 things you find....really humanized marika.
I believe Marika is the one who killed or sacrificed the people in her village because of the fact that there are two items in the area that highlight the same thing namely the people's disappear

@@khangcao9468 is there anything in the game to suggest that hornsent attack marika's village ? hornset grandam called messmer a traitor but we know it was Marika who wants hornsent to be purged, she betrayed someone again. in the spiral tower there were bunch of human statues and human carvings in trees and in trailer we saw marika was about create something ,after seduce and betrayed to someone, where she stands while raises that arc resembles the entrance of the erdtree those suggest a huge sacrificed has been made in order to create an order or civilization there are also bunch of ship symbol that refers to prophet Noah's Ark but I do not know how all of these come together.
@@Brkyshn You can watch vaati's new video, he mentioned to marika how hornsent massacred the shaman village and put them in jars . Regarding Marika's betrayal of Hornsent, it's true but I don't really understand it. There are many youtubers talking about that betrayal but I'm not sure.

Marika. A tyrannical conqueror and a horrible mother. Yet at the same time, someone who loved her children and tried to do away with the Golden Order.
And yet, she’s the way she is because her people were slaughtered due to the invasion of the Hornsent. It’s WHY she does all that she does within the Lands Between; it was an action to avenge her people’s deaths, considering she was a shaman herself (which the Hornsent obviously see as a mistake in need of quote-unquote “correction”).
This village gives big Majula vibes which I love
This is the fu...ing Best place i only can imagine for finishing that great adventure. Feeling when you win the battle with all gods and other great creature's of this world, come here and sit near the fire or little gold tree with that music is the best you only can feel. Thanks Hidetaka and FromSoftware for that 2,5 years greatest adwenture, i will never forget this, and hope to see your nex masterpiece project.
i got there. heard the chords from the main theme, but there's... calmness? no aggression in music. few chords that explain a lot about emotions. picked up the item, minor erdtree and only then i felt the biggest smile on my face in days i sat down. i put my character down sitting right next to the minor erdtree. it was peaceful. the wind felt... real and calming, just how marika wanted her life to be. away from all chaos, destruction, and imperfections of the world, we found peace. it is where marika grew up. where she started was where we ended,
She would go on to inflict endless suffering upon countless innocent lives,but in this village,she was not the cruel queen Marika,she was just Marika,and today she went to visit her grandmother...
This was the best moment of the DLC for me. I am not a huge fan of how overdesigned the bosses are, but this little moment showed me that FROM still knows the value of simplicity. I'm so thankful they didn't decide to put a boss here, they just let it be a quiet moment you have to yourself.

She’s more like Ymir Fritz after her village was raided, sacked and its people meeting a grisly fate but instead of becoming a slave to a king after making contact with a mysterious, otherworldly power, she used that power to become a god, usurped that king’s place and become a vengeful, genocidal tyrant (though not without her reasons).

Somehow this is the moment that hit me the hardest out of anything in the base game or the dlc.
Well, this will add excelently to my characters lore.
This place was an experience I’ll never forget. I spent a good hour here just walking around on Torrent and siting back in my chair just taking in the sights
As the game didn't have an ending cutscene, i just decided to come here and sit listening to the music, what a journey this game was, always in my heart

Marika did nothing wrong.
This was one of the most emotional places I've ever seen in a souls game and it's insane how it took so little to evoke such a strong reaction out of me. The moment I read the miracle description, my eyes watered. No dialogue, no NPC, no boss fight. It's environmental storytelling at it's very best.
Yes. Best piece of environmental storytelling ever. Never thought the familiar theme and 2 item descriptions can impact me so much emotionally.
Glad to see I wasn't alone in this. Such a powerful location and the epitome of From's "Show Don't Tell" storytelling philosophy. I was genuinely moved by the pieces of Marika's story falling into place.

Lore aside, reminds me of Majula a lot.
