Heinrici hot air engine 80mm
This hot air engine was used on my grandparents place at north Wagga Wagga NSW and has been in the family forever , i finally got around to making some new bits for , now running sweet.

Petter girder engine 11 HP built in 1905 probably one of the first side shaft petters with no skew cover on it , it has been sitting in my shed for 35 years and i have just now got around to getting it going i still need to do a few jobs on it , the fuel inlet is not period correct .

1912 titan type D 20 hp hit&miss first start in probably 100 years after major restoration , the roof will be fitted when it comes out of the shed.

It seems to be low on water and overheating.
Whoever has the camera, I'm sure that you think that great big flywheel spinning around is interesting, but sorry to tell you, it's not. All these engines are basically the same at that end. What's really interesting is at the other end - the cylinder head, valve operation, ignition, etc. I couldn't even find the inlet valve on this one. I know it has to have one, but where is it? Another mystery.

This engine would be a show stopper where ever it was displayed. I have a 5 and 8 hp. this was my first look at the 11 hp. Awesome.
The life and downfall and subsequent resurrection of this historic relic is very well documented. It's total history is well known in collector circles. Joe did a marvelous save on it.

Phase-change cooling remains an excellent choice even in modern times - though the condenser needed to make this thing closed-loop would be.. ..rather large, wouldn't it?

No computers. That's why these machines run and will keep running. And also why they wend out of busness. If nobody comes in for repairs and you don't sell new models the money stops.
Well that builder survives yet today as Case NH, The successor to IHC.

Is it a hit and miss?
Yes, it only fires when the vapour valve opens. That valve is controlled by the governor on the end of the side-shaft, all clearly visible in the video.
