Friday from the Fawley Hill Vintage and Steam Rally The railway isn't open to the general public, but is open for occasional days by invitation. You can sign up via the website I believe.

Well, I did say I'd share the bad as well as the good. Had an accident with the engine at Fawley Hill, and now in A&E waiting for x-ray. Huge thanks to the many wonderful people around this afternoon that helped. It's a privilege to be amongst such fine people. #steam #tractionEngine #steamengine

Yeah. Trying my best. Just got back from a week at Le Mans for the 24hrs. But left the cameras at home for that,
loving the recliner, quality!
It was amazingly comfortable. I want a flatbed trailer like that though. So much I could do with that!

hi mate. i know it rather far away for u but next year i really would advise to come to the 70th annervèrsery of the west of england steam engine sociaty rally down in cornwall. woyld be lovely to see u and the garrett pulling up engine hill on our road run. would be really nice to see u there if u can make it for next year

It's a Ifor Williams BV105. With ramp and Barn doors. Works well.

Always a risk when using heavy machinery. I believe a lady lost her legs under a road roller a few years back. Hope it all heals up well.

Dan, Sorry to hear about your accident but I found it inspiring to learn that the same camaraderie in the steam fraternity exists both in the UK and USA. I can think of several instances where someone was injured, became ill or had to abruptly leave for home and his fellow exhibitors stepped in and took care of everything from taking immediate care of the engine to delivering it back to home base after the show was over. Good luck on your recovery and my only advice is to take advantage of all the rehabilitative therapy offered you. Hope you are able to visit at least some of the rallies you planned on attending, even if as a spectator.

Good to hear from you Dan Could of been worse as they say, but bet your disappointed when you were looking forward to the rally season. At these times you find out who your friend really are! And rally folk usually look after each other in times like these. Rest up heal them bones, Tilly will be there when your ready👍🙂

@@SteamOTR Not far from me, we've got the high peak trail, used to be Cromford and High Peak Railway. Hopton incline was 1 in 14 gradient and can be walked/ridden today. :)

Had to have an operation to fix it back together with pins and plates. But recovering.

Yes Dan, if your going to have an accident, at a vintage rally is the place. Full of practical folk who know just what to do! Hope you have not broken anything, you take care of yourself mate!
Sadly a broken leg that needed surgery to fix. Ah well.
After not seeing anything from you I thought may be broken bones, not what you want at start of the season Dan! Hope they have repaired you well and you be back on the go soon mate. I suppose it can be a bit precarious sitting behind these engines, anyway best wishes for speedy recovery👍
