    That's pretty comprehensive. Thanks a lot! In the Signal failure block, I imagine one could use a fast square or random clipped lfo, no bounce, and it should give a kind of granular result I guess.

    I just got this pedal recently and was a bit disappointed to find I couldn't change what Octaves are used. It seems to be hardcoded to +1 and -1 Octave. I was hoping I could assign an expression pedal to the Octave to get a Whammy type effect.

    Just grabbed an eqd night wire. I picked it because it can do a lot more than tremolo and you can keep it musical or get a little wacky with it so it’s very versatile. Had the Flint, mxr m305, jhs tidewater and the jhs 3 series harmonic tremolo and they were great but I do like my night wire the most. To each his own though so I know it’s not for everyone. Thanks for the video

    I've read your post on TGP that you liked this one in Mono the most (at least back then). May I know why? I was eyeing Magnavibe, but they're hard to come by in Europe, whereas Memphis and the Surfy are readily available, both new and on the second hand market. Cheers!

    • @TriPedalReviews
      @TriPedalReviews Před 7 dny

      SurfyVibe sounds good, but there is a slight volume drop on the phasey setting. This is primarily why the CTC is better. You can compensate, or boost volume. My top 3 favorite Magnatone style vibratos are Orgin Effects Magma 57, CTC Memphis and BTB Maggie. All of them are good though, including Magnavibe. I should probably do another shootout one of these days.

    Great work - as always! I’ve been on the fence for years either this box. It’s different, it does cool things, but is it more of a novelty in the end? I bought an EQD Transmisser for its “odd factor,” and sometimes plug it in and make all kinds of craziness with it for hours. I think this one is along the same lines. Probably going to buy one eventually, though…

    • @TriPedalReviews
      @TriPedalReviews Před 7 dny

      Haha, Transmisser is one of my favorites. I've got 2 of them. I dig this pedal, but is it something I couldn't live with out? Not really. Other delays now days can do similar things. LVX can do this type of stuff. I think it was pretty unique to its time. I had the same attitude towards it as well, sat on the fence for years till there was a lul in interesting things to try, then picked it up.

      @TriPedalReviews Před 8 dny

      Thanks, I've never been a huge fan of the Spring Algorithm in the Big Sky (either version). I like the convolution ones better on the MX. For clean playing I'd be pretty satisfied with the convolution options, but for dirty overdrive spring it doesn't cut it. The Trashy preset here is pretty good, but still doesn't really compare to the legit tanks I've got. It was the only preset in the Big Sky on spring that I liked, and if you know how much I love spring verb, you'd find that surprising as it's my favorite verb type. Wait, in the Tremolo section, how is the modulation being applied to the dry signal? I thought the 2290P was true Analog Dry Thru, meaning the dry signal wasn't ran through the DSP???? This would mean the dry signal was in fact running through the AD/DA converters right???

    • @TriPedalReviews
      @TriPedalReviews Před 9 dny

      I'd say that's probably a question for TC. I see nothing mentioned in their marketing material that it's analog dry through, nor in their manual, which typically means it isn't.

    Hello, thanks so much for posting this vid! I have listened to it a few times now:) Can I ask how you created the Haunted Reverb patch (#6)? I did a factory reset on my Artifakt, using the older Neuro editor, and it wiped out my factory presets. It left me with no baseline to start from. I have been able to create a nice envelope filter, chorus, and flange effect with it. However, I just can't seem to get a trem sound UGH! Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    • @TriPedalReviews

      I didn't make that one, so not sure specifically how it was made. I'll take a look tomorrow and see what I can tell ya. Editor should be out soon, so hopefully we can get all these uploaded to the cloud.

    • @TriPedalReviews
      @TriPedalReviews Před 14 dny

      For Tremolo, there is a dedicated Tremolo block you need to engage. This also controls the Depth of the Trem, so set that there. In the LFO block, you'd set your shape and the speed of the LFO. Then in the control section in the editor you just set the switches/knobs to control whatever you want. The Haunted reverb patch just has reverb going on, then engages/disengages the tremolo block with the footswitch. That gives you the option of not having trem, or having trem along with the reverb.

    Did you like the pedal? Is the expression pedal feature screwed up. Seems to go from slow to unusable fast. How is the harmonic trem

    • @TriPedalReviews
      @TriPedalReviews Před 15 dny

      As mentioned in the video, all Monument versions have crap expression control functionality, they all suffer the same issue and they just never fix it, the range of speed available is too wide, and thus you can't really get a smooth sweep in a usable range (I've demod every version of this pedal and included testing out the expression control on all 3). As you say, its usually real slow then real fast. Harmonic trem is pretty good, but i still prefer others to it. Very similar to the V2 harmonic trem of this pedal, which I've done a bunch of shootouts with. This one is still in the middle for me. It's not great, it's not bad. I do like the ramping features and the stereo of this new version. Being able to mix standard & harmonic is also nice. But a similar pedal I'd choose over this is the Flower Pedals Sunflower Deluxe.

    • @TriPedalReviews

      Unfortunately I don't believe that is a thing. In the original editor you can click on the section in the editor with the tape heads and it brings up a selection menu of sub-divisions. In the NDD-7 editor if you do that it does nothing and there is no selection I can see that would be related.

      @@OlandoMcCallI'd say evaluate products based on your needs and pick em up if you want. No one is expecting you to buy it just cause. I'm not here to convince you one way or another. SA's a company who's products are primarily built on software/DSP. They have a very kitchen sink approach in that they include every element they possibly can into their pedals with the processing power they've got at the time. Yes, they re-use some code between products (that's just smart, why wouldn't you?) But they also improve upon effects per release as well, they aren't just carbon copies of the same effect and functionality all the time. Ultrawave for example is one of the best Tremolo's out there, and beats the the Vertigo, which is a dedicated trem pedal by SA. Ultrawave is capable of far more unique and interesting trem effects, and it isn't even primarily a tremolo pedal. Benefits to having the same effects achievable in different products, means if you are running more than one SA pedal, then you can have different effects going at multiple points in your signal chain. In addition, each of the pedals can also have their own signal chain of internal effects, so you can combine those in unique ways as well that you otherwise wouldn't be able to with individual parts that don't interact with each other in the same way standalone. This is a pedal dedicated to lofi with the ability to use it as utility for many other effects that may be more practical and get more use. The individual parts are most certainly useful to the majority of players. It's the most flexible lofi centric pedal I can think of that isn't completely fully modular (and thus harder to work with), and it also has a lot of utility with practical effects that one could use for more traditional sounds. You should consider the control aspect of each product as well. Small UI changes can yield large results. This particular pedal has multiple LFO's as well as simultaneous envelope control in any direction of up to 18 different parameters. If it doesn't strike your fancy, find something that does.

    How is the tremolo?

      As a standard trem with selectable wave shapes I think it's great. As I demo'd, you can set up different speeds with the switch and set your knobs to whatever you want them to do really. I find that really useful. It doesn't have harmonic trem or a bunch of panning options. If you don't need those things, and just need standard trem, then it's great.

    Nixie 2 won't recognize my BigSky MX. I've used Nixie 2 successfully with several other Strymon pedals.

    Lots of features. But I’m not a fan of the bright digital sheen that most all Strymon pedals have (can dull it a lot on the El Cap using Tape Age, I think?). I do envy the ability to pan the Playback Heads separately (and therefore the stereo outs)… that is the one feature I want to try this pedal for … I don’t care about another digital-sounding reverb and so-so looper … improve the preamp/tone of the pedal, and maybe the ability to control Tape Age (Drum Age) like on the El Cap … Tone is everything; bells & whistles (lots of features) can’t make up for bright digital tone … 😕

    Do you have a video that goes into more detail about footswitches? I was able to add a footswitch to a delay and have it work properly. But I tried to add a footswitch to a reverb and I can't get it to work no matter what I do with the settings. The reverb never shuts off. I set it to latching. I set the on level to 1.0, and the off level to 0.0, and the reverb is still on no matter whether the footswitch is on or off. Can someone help me with this? (As a side note: I sure wish the Beebo manual was a proper manual instead of just a feature index. I want to like this pedal, but there needs to be way more learning support for this thing! Just sayin'.)

    In the Neuro app, can you freely mix and match different engines (ex. Vinyl plus glitch with bitcrushing)?

    Great demo! Debating if I should get this one. Is there a better sounding stereo tremolo pedal in your opinion?

      There are a lot of good ones. Some very advanced and some very simple. Walrus falls kinda in the middle between simple and complex. There are a lot of Stereo Trem's I think sound great. Some others that I like you can check out. Sunflower Deluxe. Fulltone SupaTrem 2, Effectrode DeltaTrem, Source Audio Ultrawave. All of those I've done videos on. My SupaTrem video sucked so I wouldn't listen to that one as that was back when I was first doing demos. But the rest are pretty solid. Other good ones, Surfy Trem Deluxe or Red Mountain. I think what UI, Complexity and features you want should play a part in which ones you consider.

    You think it can do sort of a swell-in when depth is maxed? This does every lofi thing i want but if i can use it to replicate poly synth for my cover band then its a gift from the gods (currently using a Slö for that)

      I can check, are we just talking a volume swell based on pick attack on the dry signal? If you've got a sample I can take a look at doing it.
