Welcome to the Good Trails Mountain Biking channel.
Good Trails videos are a mix of trail review, travel and vlog. I started the Good Trails series just over a year ago and have had a great time producing it so far. Originally, I started with raw edits because I hadn't used my camera in a long time and I wanted to shoot something. After 2 or 3 videos, it evolved into Good Trails. I am continuing to learn and refine every time I shoot, edit and voice the videos.
If you want to reach out and talk about the channel or just mountain biking in general, I'll be sure to get back to you!
Enjoy the channel!

I got out for Wednesday Night Chairs at Camp Fortune Mountain Bike Park. Camp Fortune has traditionally been the gnarliest place to ride down hill in this region of Quebec. But, recently they have started building flow trails. However, tonight I am out riding the chunky stuff!

This showed up in my feed today. My parents had a place inside Holiday Valley and I rode those trails plenty of times in the summer. I still have a couple trophies from the Fall Festival race they used to do in Holiday Valley on some of the trails you show. Good times!
Awesome! I hope I can make it to Holimont this summer!
@@GoodTrails Go for it! I'm on the other side of the country so my likelihood of returning is very slim, but if I do find myself going out there, I'm bringing my bike and hitting those trails for old time's sake.
as a teen i was a snow bord instructor there
at the top of the peak there is a hikers shelter stay in there over night and get fresh new snow for your first run you will love it take the vermonter to lower quoi
if you can do black at jay you can go anywhere
i grew up in Montgomery vt at the base of jay peak and m gym class in the winter was a 2 hr ski lesson in group and the rest of the day do what you want. If you want a challenge its the green beret
The beer machine!! 🤘🏻💪🏻🤘🏻
Why is that considered a blue trail? Seems very much a green.
Tremblant ranks their groomers using a grade over distance calculation. Tremblant gets a lot of beginner skiers and riders. I think they were generally conservative with their beginner trail ratings - it probably helps keeps their insurance cost down. Ski their a few times and you'll find the goods tho! For advanced skier's, Tremblant has focused a lot of energy on tree skiing in the past couple of years and they have some really nice glades. Their are also a few natural snow trails like Dynamite, that are absolutely nuts!
@@GoodTrails I'e been meaning to go...thanks for the heads up about the glades!
Can u do one without commentary n in toronto ?
I don’t live in the GTA anymore. Check out “Andre Laurent MTB” on CZcams. He makes good videos all around the GTA and posts frequently.
Hey @Good Trails I'm currently working on a video featuring a couple of glamping cabins and interesting spots around LSM, and I stumbled upon your awesome Good Trails content. Your skiing and biking clips from Mont Ste Marie caught my eye for their realism and fun vibe. Would it be okay if I use a couple of short segments from these clips in my video? Of course, I'll be sure to credit you appropriately in the description. Please let me know sincerely, and thanks a bunch in advance!

hello bro how can I find this track ?
it's on trailforks
I work at kanawe since the beginning. We did some big change on the jump line. We took of the last bumb before de shark fin and added a little kicker on the first bump. We added 2 big burms and a big stump gap. You really shoud come and try it
I was there on Sunday. I haven’t done the stump jump yet tho!
For your first time skiing through terrain like that you did super well, it's all about constant practice in there and lapping that terrain! Keep at it, great video!
Not quite my first time in trees… but absolutely the hardest skiing I have done! I can’t wait to go back next year and hopefully on a powder day!
@@GoodTrails Mountain looks legit for east coast skiing, stoked about the terrain you showed here!
You'll have to come on up to Wilderness Tours just up Hwy 17 in Beachburg and check out our rad trail system... we just finished a new 1.5k blue flow to add to the dozen trails we have already. PS...We're dry and rideable currently. If you're interested, give a holler and I'll hook ya up with the trail boss 🤙
That would be great! find me on Instagram @goodtrailstyler ... I might be able to come out this weekend
3340 FEET of uninterrupted Vertical. Love Whiteface especially when the snow is good but it can get brutally cold and icy there too. You should check out the slides when they are open. The closest thing you will get western skiing on the East Coast. czcams.com/video/Uwr-8UVCe_k/video.html
I swear by a zwift membership all winter. Sitting on rhe turbo a couple times a week in the winter means my fitness is insanely good early season, all I need to do is get my bike handling skills back in parking lots before the trails dry up and its back to setting PRs
Happens every year, as u lose muscle over the winter, only to gain it back in summer and the cycle continues. This is called "yoyo fitness.". Instead, get a road bike and a trainer and ride indoors during the winter to stay fresh year round
I just got the 2023 Norco Sight A1, having some last minute warranty fixes but should be ready in a few days. Super psyched.
It’s a very solid bike! I could be wrong - But, I imagine the new one won’t pedal as nicely. It seems more downhill focused, where the old bike was a great do it all bike. We’ll see tho! Either way, the 2023 is a hell of a deal right now.
@@GoodTrails yeah, I got a tremendous discount a week before the 2024 model launch.
Should head to the gym on the off season for leg day. Maintain what ya got.
Nice one mate, the sight is a great bike! .... I've got a 21 sight & a 23 range which has the high pivot and I love it. If you want to see some rock trails have a look of my latest video .... super janky 👌
Ooo nice! I think a Range plus the new fluid would be a good combo!
@@GoodTrails indeed it would
How much does the bike weigh?
Ya the fat bike is good for pedaling during the winter. I noticed on the first trail ride this season.
I’d like to get one but I don’t know if I would have the time to ride during skiing season!
Found you and subscribed. I'm also a local, and I like what you're doing with this channel. However, I ask you to please respect the trail maintenance crew and stay off the Gatineau Park trails until they open, just like most other managed trails. From the NCC website: "The mountain biking trails are currently closed. Please remain off the trails during the spring thaw period."
Thanks for the heads up! I did not realize the trails weren’t open yet. I’ll stick with gravel and Montebello until they are open up officially!
Nice Riding! I can't wait to get back riding, but nothing is dry enough around me yet!!
I was wondering if Turkey Point was dry. I guess not. We just got a bunch of snow yesterday so it’s back to skiing for me
Man, do i hear you. Just got my first 2 rides in, and my legs and butt were sore! Cheers!
Yah dude! A few more and you’ll be good to go!
Where did you guys park on the mountain? Did you guys stay for a few days or just for one day?
Got BC to the west of me and Quebec to the east of me and I had to be conceived in trail forsaken Southern Ontario 😢
Poor guy! You should check out Holimont Bike Park in Western New York. It looks very good!
great commentary buddy! Couldn't agree more, the older we get, the harder those first few rides get.. just a matter of pushing through and reaping the rewards..
It’s all about conditioning! It may take a few rides to get to the other side but it’s worth it
Great video..how do you find your legs and lungs after a days riding,I’ve got a 2020 Sight alloy custom build and it comes in over 37lbs with insert and carbon rims? Great bike but it’s a killer for a 56 year old body😂
No problem with my legs and lungs, I have been ski touring all winter… so, it’s my arms, back, shoulders and butt that were sore!
Can't believe Quebec trails are in this shape at this time of the year.
great riding!
Thanks!
Great stuff buddy!!!
Thanks 👍
sweet trail.
Yah it’s so much fun!
Im a quebecor lol im loosing nothing that is why i moved and i said you lost me at Quebec the worst region ever
Quebec is a province. Anyway, if you weren’t happy here, I’m glad you found somewhere you are happy!
You lost me at Quebec
lol - your loss!
Awesome! I haven't been able to hit any trails yet this year! Can't wait.... I really need to plan a trip this year to come out and visit your area!
sick riding man. Just smack'n those berms up :P
Thanks dude! So stoked on an early season
Solid riding dude 🙌🏻
thanks dude!
I would be curious to know what bike you were riding, looks like it handles the trail well.
It’s a 2023 Norco Sight A1. I have some videos on my channel reviewing the bike
@@GoodTrails , if I recall rightly you bought it 'Sight' unseen!!! Great first ride of the year, forget how lucky I am in SE Queensland (Australia) to be able to ride all year round in relative comfort and conditions.
@@pauljam4122haha yah that’s the one. Riding all year would be the dream! As long as I could still go skiing…
The trail in Southern New Brunswick are still wet from all the rain we got this month. But the next couple weeks look good so fingers crossed we will be riding soon.
Great video Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
I had no idea that had great trails like that at Montebello. Thanks for posting!
They are new! Check out Montebello Velo on Google
Happy 2024! Hope you have a great season.
You too! Very stoked
Montebello is awesome, rode yesterday too at the end of the day and all the trails were super packed by then with all the traffic, it was great!
That’s greats to hear! I left around 11 and people were showing up by the dozens. I would have guessed there was around 100 people there when I left. It was really good to see
great video just hit jay peak this past Tuesday. tram was closed but still an amazing day at jaypeak
I hear they are getting another 30 - 40 cm this week!
Sweet! Valhalla Glades FTW!
the blue glades at jay are mostly just blue glades... staircase and everglade, the face, green beret... those are steep. but if you haven't been, go through the green ones! they are perfectly built trails, nice steady pitch with a cat track winding thru so you can practice spotting and sticking lines one, two, three turns at a time... then hit the blues!!
Great tips! I can’t wait to go back
@@GoodTrailswell, YOU don't need the green glades, nice work on everglade! pretty damn good for three years in. bonaventure glade is another good one. mostly open and blueish except for a couple spots. i only ever went to tremblsnt in the summer but its definitely not as steep! if you get a chance to ski smugglers notch or burke, they're both great too. lots of fun, nice trees. vuck fail!!!
@@GoodTrailsseriously, great run on everglade. its your first time on terrain like that?? and in challenging snow?? at least it was a little soft though- still better than total hardpack. you're doing all the right things, sidestepping over rocks, hitting the trees feet first! good feet-on-boards control... like you know how to hockey stop
This place looks awesome! I want to go! ⛷️
You should! I’m pretty sure the snow is good right now!
1:46 wow going at that speed on unknown tech terrain is insane man. I guess I need bigger balls to get better at this sport
Ive rode bmx, skateparks, trails, fixed gears, road bikes, and now mtb without gloves. Not gonna start now😂
