Having issues with LED not illuminating, dim or stays on and the keyfob doesn't transmit any commands to the vehicle? Simple fix requiring only a heat gun and a few minutes of your time. I've fixed 2 1 way remotes (RPN:7153V). This should also work on the 2 way variants (RPN:7154V)

This is absolutely amazing. The LED on my Code alarm was staying on and I was about to buy a new remote start system. The first time I used the heat gun it did not work. The second time, I kept the heat gun on for a little longer and it now works great. How did you ever come up with this idea??? Thanks.
I had a theory that evolved around the board was bending and the solder joints were beginning to fail. The heat gun would reflow the solder connections and hopefully re-establish the solder joints again. A good example would be the old Xbox360 console. While this isn't meant to be a permanent fix and it quiet risky but it does seem to get the job done. Ideally you would want a reflow station and to reball the surface mount components with fresh solder. My thought was, if it's already broken and you mess it up. The worse thing that would happen would be it still didn't work.
Also you shouldn't 't have to replace the entire system there would be an ID or part number on the back of the remote. Order that part and simply program the new keyfob for it. When I worked for Best Buy we would normally charge between 30 to 60 dollars to program depending on how long it took to program it.
